Terrible Work, Impossible to Schedule, and did work two weeks after they said they would…read more I worked with St. Joseph Granite to fabricate and install granite for both units in a duplex. I went with them because Vagner was great at selling me on the business and they had a great price ($5 cheaper than competitors per sq ft) and had great Yelp reviews. After I gave them a down payment is when the problems started. I called St. Joseph on a Monday, they had a guy out there Tuesday to measure and had me a quote by that afternoon. We worked out some details and I gave them a deposit on Thursday. Vagner said they'd do the install the following Tuesday, then changed to Wednesday, then changed three more times over the next two weeks. They texted me at 10:15am the day they did the install asking if they could do it at 11:30am. This was after I'd already been waiting two weeks. Their actual install work was awful. Granted, the house is a hundred years old so one can expect some issues, but having hired a few granite companies I'd say this was a pretty amateur job: - One of the countertops didn't touch the cabinet on the front edge at all which means the granite could break if there's too much weight on it or pull out from the wall - The other three counters touched on the front edge but only in one or two places - Backsplash had a 3/8 inch gap and didn't touch the wall - They snapped the kitchen drain pipe when the removed the old sink - They cut original 100 year old cabinets and "fixed" the structural parts using my finish brad gun which is way to small for structural work - Electrical outlet was out of the wall and couldn't be pushed back in because the backsplash was installed under it - Only used two brackets to hold the undermount sinks in place - one of the brackets that was there fell out when I touched it (manufacturer recommends 8 per sink) - Sink they supplied didn't fit properly into the sink cutout I texted Vagner with pictures of the problems and let them know it wasn't done right. He immediately tried to charge my card for the balance without responding, however I got a fraud notification and it didn't go through. Vagner then told me that my cabinets weren't level and it wasn't their fault. I asked if they were installed correctly and he combatively asked me what I wanted him to do because the cabinets were the problem, not their work. I hired someone else to fix their work. They were half the price of Home Depot, but you get what you pay for.
