Excellent variety of spices and other indian food products for a good price. There frozen foods and limited fresh produce as well.

Good selection of grocery items and spices. Ordered lunch while there. It was good. The prices are reasonable.

Oriental Market may be the only Korean one in town, with a good selection of Asian goods with more emphasis on Korean groceries. Owned by a sweet Korean woman, this little store only has a few parking spots and has been around for decades. The place is well organized and has a good variety of everything from frozen foods to sauces. Prices seem to be relatively low here, enough to give Walmart across the street a run for it's money (#1). I couldn't find any produce here nor any soju (Korean vodka), but I was able to find plenty of other things (kimchi dumplings, korean sodas, etc.) most of the other stores are unlikely to have. If I lived nearby, this would be my spot for Asian groceries. As much as I like Vinh Phat, it's closer to Denham Springs than it is to LSU. I only wish this place would change it's name to something less generic and more original. _________________ (#1) Oh but does Walmart have Ssam-Jang for $2.99 a carton? Does Walmart even know what that is? Yeah, that's what I thought.

That's not the case here it appears. But the Oriental Market is a Korean owned, business that has mostly Korean products and I am grateful for that. The store is very small, but it has the essentials that every Korean boy needs. The owner was nice and helpful. I will definitely be back and am thankful it's here and convenient to my home.

It's dangerous that I pass it on the way home because when I have a bad day or want comfort food, I end up here. It has your basic Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese products. Anything from egg tarts to dumplings/gyoza to kimchi to natto to pho broth. They have a lot of canned/bottled drinks, like Thai tea, Yeo's soy milk, milk tea, coffee drinks. All the sauces you need. And of course the snacks many of us know from childhood, like prawn crackers or Marukawa bubble gum. For the size, I was very impressed with this cute little shop. It's clean and organized, well stocked, and they're so friendly there. Honestly, prices are also super reasonable. They could totally jack up prices more and get away with it, since it's the only shop of its kind in this area. So I decided on 5 stars because while I do wish they had more non-frozen actual food and more variety, for their size, they're doing the best that they can. You can't walk into a store this size and expect an H-Mart or Assi or Hong Kong Supermarket. And the fact that they appeal to all the Asians is pretty darn great for this side of Baton Rouge. Overall, I would highly recommend. Come here for snacks, dessert, or getting ingredients for cooking. Just beware. You might end up getting more junk food than you anticipated!
