Every time I come here the staff is so nice and helpful. They have a great selection of food. Well organized and easy to find everything.

Asian Market, how did I just realize that you existed? I've already been to Asian Market multiple times in the past few weeks. It's dangerous that I pass it on the way home because when I have a bad day or want comfort food, I end up here. It has your basic Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese products. Anything from egg tarts to dumplings/gyoza to kimchi to natto to pho broth. They have a lot of canned/bottled drinks, like Thai tea, Yeo's soy milk, milk tea, coffee drinks. All the sauces you need. And of course the snacks many of us know from childhood, like prawn crackers or Marukawa bubble gum. For the size, I was very impressed with this cute little shop. It's clean and organized, well stocked, and they're so friendly there. Honestly, prices are also super reasonable. They could totally jack up prices more and get away with it, since it's the only shop of its kind in this area. So I decided on 5 stars because while I do wish they had more non-frozen actual food and more variety, for their size, they're doing the best that they can. You can't walk into a store this size and expect an H-Mart or Assi or Hong Kong Supermarket. And the fact that they appeal to all the Asians is pretty darn great for this side of Baton Rouge. Overall, I would highly recommend. Come here for snacks, dessert, or getting ingredients for cooking. Just beware. You might end up getting more junk food than you anticipated! read more

There seems to be a lack of Asian anything in BR, so much so that I'm just happy there are options like Asian Market. The name might not get points for originality, but at least it keeps things relatively obvious. The place is of a Asian convenience store than it is a full fledged market but it's definitely worth checking out. There isn't much of a produce section if any or a seafood tank for fresh swimmers. Instead, you'll find aisles of dry food. From ramen noodle packs to wall hanging snacks, there is a decent selection of stuff from Pocky sticks to Ramyun cups. There are also cold drinks in the fridges, so feel free to score some soy milk or aloe drinks here. The staff consists of usually one person manning the counter and they're quick to tell if you something is or isn't available. For the most part it's quiet in here unless they happen to be playing some Chinese music (shoutout to Teresa Teng!). Though Asian market connoisseurs might find the markup here a bit off putting, just be thrilled there is an even a place at all to score wasabi peanuts and the like. read more

Best Asian market. People are very friendly, helpful and great selection of items to choose from. read more

Was very happy to stroll into this little market after eating next door. The larger markets are a bit overwhelming to a newbie like me so this smaller market was a welcomed discovery. But don't get it twisted, this store is packed with goodies! There are many items here that I usually have to order online then wait for them to arrive. From noodles, to seasonings and sauces, to dumplings, octopus and pork belly ....just naming a few things. I also purchased a beautiful red bead necklace as a gift. I really wish they had two! We've been here a few times but will likely be driving from Gonzales on a more regular basis to visit this market. When you walk in do not miss out by thinking "it's too small to carry much." There is a lot packed in here. Especially the freezer areas. We look forward to going back! read more

Asian Market - Wonderful Find - International Grocery Near Me - Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Charming little shop with a wide variety of Asian food products and cooking accessories. The owner is helpful and friendly. They also offer a wide variety of frozen dumplings and meats for Asian stews. Along with the veggies to accompany those dishes. I love their fresh baked pastries near the cash register!! And they have a huge variety of High Chews, my favorite Asian candy! read more

This market the best selection I have found in this area and pricing is very fair for today's economy.

Clean and fresh vegetables. The staffs are all very friendly, always say hi when you open the door. I can buy lots of Taiwanese and Japanese products here. Nice small market! read more

Small but convenient location and very clean! Helpful staff. The Japanese Mayo is kept in the refrigerator. Fresh mushrooms, sugar beans. Essentials are here. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go. I love trying new things and finding old favorites that I cant find other places. I have to be careful or else i will spend way too much money on almond pocky! LOL! I love the pork dumplings and the matcha ice cream. On my visit yesterday I noticed that they had Lays potato chips, but bagged as they would be in Asia so that really added a nice touch for me. I dont even like Lays potato and I almost bought them just because I loved it! The staff is always friendly and inviting. I look forward to coming back and trying more! read more

This place is great! Located right in the plaza next to Bao and Lavish Nails, the location is really convenient for me! It's a small store, but it has tons of selection of asian goods. It has items that I don't normally expect from such a small store, but they have almost everything I'm looking for! It's pretty comparable to the Houston Chinese supermarkets in terms of certain things! So many snacks and ice creams available! I really love going here to get my asian needs! It's a must on my grocery runs! read more

Asian foods, snacks and more. They've expanded! When I last wrote this review, they were only half of what they are now. Prior to living here, I spent most of my life in California and I was surrounded by Asian markets (everywhere). Unfortunately, this market doesn't have everything I need for some of the dishes I like to cook, but it's sufficient. It's as good as I can get (especially for the distance from home). I enjoy their snacks, frozen foods and mixes that they have here. My daughter loves the candies and snacks that can only be found and Asian markets. Now that they have expanded, they seem to have more frozen foods. The owners here are super nice and always so helpful, if I am looking for something specific. I wish they would get more fresh produce used in Asian cooking (ie the greens) that I can't seem to find at regular grocery stores. Also, if you're lucky, you can request for a box of fresh, young coconut and they'll call you, when it arrives to the store, so you can pick up. Thankfully, this is a hop, skip and a jump from home, so I can come here and indulge on some specialties that remind me of home every so often. When I'm not home, you'll probably find me here. LOL. read more

Great selection of asian groceries and lots of dried mushrooms. I came here looking for mochi and pocky and they had many types to chose from. The cashier was very friendly and kindly answered any questions. The store was so clean compared to other groceries I've been to and did not have that odd smell that many have. Overall I ended up getting two large bags worth of groceries adding up to $30. read more

This place is nice and clean. If you need Asian items, you probably can find it here. I requested some items a couple times and I found them about a month later. Seafood are available. It's a new market, so items should still be new. read more

I shop for grocery there weekly, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The store is very clean, the price is very acceptable(better than Oriental Market), and there's a lot of treats and vegetables. I love the red-bean buns and dumplings !!! The owner is very nice too. He asks us about what kind of things we'd like to have and offers to bring them to store~ read more

I'm glad there's an Asian market on this side of town. Oriental Market isn't that far from the Bluebonnet area, but I'd rather avoid the traffic. And the shops on Florida are a bit far, they're great if you're stocking up. But for a few items here and there, I'd recommend this place. While small, this shop offers a wide range of items at very competitive prices. Some items are on par or even cheaper than other places in town, some are slightly more expensive. Overall, it all balances out and you'll most likely pay the same amount here, for the same basket of items, as you would at other Asian stores. And they do accept credit/debit cards, but I think there's a min amount you have to purchase before they accept it, I think it was $10 but don't quote me on that. Yes, you might not find everything you're looking for here, but keep in mind that it's a small shop and they've just opened shop not too long ago, maybe 5-6 months, so you have to give them time to establish themselves. That being said, they still offer a very good selection of items, ranging from Asian drinks, candy, mochi, ice cream, rice, noodles, sauces, spices, fresh veggies, tofu, meats, etc. They also get a shipment of fresh herbs and veggies every Wednesday nights, so Wed and Thurs night are the best time to stop in if you're looking to score some fresh produce. And if you can't find something you're really looking for, you can ask the owner and he'll try to get it for you. Oh and did I mention, the owner is a very nice and helpful guy, customer service is superb and that's one reason why I shop here as often as I do. So to sum it up, great little shop, nice selection of items, superb customer service, and located on Perkins between Essen and Bluebonnet, so very convenient to the surrounding areas. PS - Don't leave this place, without picking up a pack of Mango Hi-Chew. Your taste buds will love you for it. read more

I've been back a few times since my first visit and I've come to like this place. They have a lot of things that you can't often find at the regular grocery store and I always make sure I have cash if I know my total is going to be under $10. Lesson learned, glad to have this place nearby. read more

Overall, I will probably go back when I am in that part of town. I noticed that they did not have all of the product in that they intend to, since they had signs up saying they were adding new things. Their prices seemed reasonable (at least judging by the fact that their price for Ramune was the same as Oriental Market on Lee), and they had lots of treats that I want to try (they had lots of candies and cookies). I guess they don't have quite the same selection as Oriental Market, but it would be worth it to keep an eye out for new things they would carry. read more

Wonderful Asian grocery full of everything from every Asian country imaginable. Huge selection of fresh snacks (all my children's favorites), teas, rice, seafood, drinks, housewares, spices and frozen goods. The employees and owners are the nicest, most amazing people you will ever meet, and I adore them with my whole heart. My daughters and I enjoy a girls' night with their snacks and the trip to this shop is always our most enjoyable part of the night. Thank you, Asian Market. read more

Don't let this shop's size fool you - it's utterly packed with all the necessities you'd need for most Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai dishes. There's also a surprisingly wide selection of fresh produce and meat/seafood, and many unique snacks and sweets to discover including fresh baked items (red bean buns, etc.) The staff are very friendly and happy to answer any questions. Plenty of parking too. Check it out! read more

Just discovered this small grocery store while shopping next door at Southside. I enjoy browsing Asian markets and getting new produce or foods that I've never had before, so I decided to stop in and see what this store was all about. The store was super clean and did not have that "fishy smell" that a lot of the Asian groceries have-- always a plus, in my opinion! I browsed every aisle and was pleased to see a lot of vegetarian and vegan-friendly items, which I don't always find-- ramen made without fish ingredients, vegetable and bean buns, and crunchy snacks without shrimp or other dried fish ingredients. The freezer section was great too with an assortment of dumplings, frozen vegetables, tofu, desserts, and more. Also, they have those low-cal gluten free kelp noodles in the refrigerator section for about a third of the price that Whole Foods charges. I ended up getting some nori and soy wrappers, roasted sesame seeds (a steal at $3 for a large jar!), noodle soup, frozen mochi (on sale for $1.19 a package), edamame (much cheaper than American grocery store price), and freshly baked red-bean buns (imported from Houston, TX). I also grabbed some rice candy--the kind with the edible rice paper wrapper--on my way to the register. The woman working at the counter let me know that this grocery store has been open for about 4 months and that there is more merchandise coming soon. I can't wait to come back and try some of the frozen vegetable buns and dumplings, and get some tea and noodles! read more

Great little place for some Asian groceries! Wish they had a few more options but it still has a few to choose from! Enough for a hot pot night and lots of noodle choices! A very clean and neat Asian market- I've been to some very smelly ones! Some days they even have fresh buns-Yummy!! read more

The store is clean and organized. Not too much of a selection as far as fresh veggies and fruits. Has the bare necessities, enough to make a meal. But then again not a big selection of asian stores out here. read more

This is the best Asian market in the whole state. Super clean and very friendly.

My favorite Asian market:) love the lychee ice cream:) Customer service is great here. The store is very clean and organized.

My primary store now! As a student in LSU, I shop for groceries each weekend. This small store is near Southside, very convenient for shopping fruits after. The price for some merchants is cheaper than Oriental Market. As I noticed, a bag of sun flower seeds costs $2.5 in this store and $3 in Oriental Market. The vegetables are very fresh and of real asian taste. There are also chicken feet and marbled pork, which I used to drive 4 hour to Houston to buy. Now they save me 8 hours round trip! read more

this place is a solid 4.5 stars. the only thing setting me back from 5 stars is the lack of variety they have but it also keeps the shop simple and easy to buy from. i honestly wouldnt want him to buy more of a variety of items as it would turn into one of those bigger stores by florida blvd which gets overwhelming. the store is also alot cleaner than the stores down in florida too. ive been going to this shop since it was opened and remember when it was half the size it is today. the guy that owns the place doesnt know english that well but he is genuinely gets happy when my family comes. definitely should stop by here if you need a few asian ingredients. read more
