I have a have nut allergy and I have never had any allergic reactions to any of the food. I love their chicken biryani, chicken 65, all the naan breads and their chicken tikka! The spice is not too much for me and it's not over powering. I believe they can accommodate your spice level bc I do like my Indian food spicy. They do have a lunch menu but I personally just love the take out. The location does have a seating area and has a buffet section on the side; it's well kept and not too overwhelming. Give this place a try, definitely try a different item each time. This is my go to Indian restaurant in Denton .

But I was headed home and wanted to grab something en route for the family to eat. I glanced and saw a high rating and figured I can't go wrong with Indian food. Anyplace I've eaten had alway been good! So, I ordered Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Biryani, and Goat Curry through Yelp app. I was 5 minutes away and food was ready for pickup when I arrived, which pleased me but also made me wonder if it wasn't fresh. Nevertheless I arrived home and the food was packaged well and that was the end of the good experience. Surprisingly the food was rather terrible. And I have NEVER had bad Indian food. The Biryani was bland and hot for hot sake, like spicy and flavorless. The Nan was thick and rubbery. The tandoori was dry and nasty, like having a sour taste to it. My husband had the goat and said the sauce wasn't good. Overall I don't recommend this place. Seriously I hate I wasted $50+ with them and I honestly wish I could get my money back. Two thumbs way down. Save yourself and your money! Eat someplace else.

The Butter Sauce Here Changed My Life (and Possibly My Religion)…read more Let me start by saying this. I have eaten a lot of Indian food. Like probably-should-have-a-punch-card-at-every-restaurant-in-Dallas levels of Indian food. So when I stumbled on Spicy Chowk in Denton, tucked in a random shopping center that does not exactly scream culinary magic, I was not expecting much. But then I saw it. The dining room was packed. And not just packed, people were locked in, eating like they were defending their plates from thieves. That is when I knew something serious was going down. So I parked. I walked in. And I am telling you right now, this place delivers. Let's cut straight to the chase. The butter sauce here is the truth. Forget whatever you think you know about butter chicken versus tikka masala. I ordered both on my first visit because I am a responsible adult who makes brave culinary decisions, and I can say without hesitation the butter sauce wins. It is richer, it has that perfect tang, that deep tomato pop, that silky balance of spice and cream that makes you rethink every good tikka masala you have ever had. If you are one of those tikka loyalists, hear me out. You are going to walk in thinking tikka is the move. I get it, I have been you. But trust me, the butter here is where it is at. That is your go-to order. Now let's talk momos because these little flavor bombs are not messing around. The masala momos and butter momos are next-level. I do not know what kind of magic they are working back there, but these dumplings are addictive. You get that Nepali flair with all the depth of Indian spice, and the combo plate is honestly the best way to roll. Round it all out with some garlic naan, which is dangerously good, and a side of rice, and you are basically guaranteed to leave happy, full, and maybe slightly emotional. I have had the saag, which was excellent, and the korma, which was solid, but I am telling you, the butter sauce is the star of the show. That is your ticket. Order the butter anything, butter chicken, butter paneer, butter momos, whatever. Just make sure butter is somewhere in that sentence. Bottom line, Spicy Chowk is one of those rare hidden gems that punches way above its location. It is vibrant, flavorful, and absolutely worth the drive. You will find me here dipping naan like it is a full-time job.

Started off with loading up a plateful of small portions of the different vegetarian options and almost all of them were prepared well. Best liked dishes were the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Kadhi with those lovely Pakodas. The Tandoori Rotis served were hot, hot, light and fluffy and were very tasty while also complementing the main dishes completely. The Peas Pulao were a let down and it was not made fresh but the Plain Basmati Rice was wonderfully fresh and prepared well. I personally did not like the Tandoori Chicken as the pieces seemed have been made earlier and only re-heated and served, The Shrimp Curry was so so and the seafood seemed to have been slightly over cooked. The Chicken Do Pyaza was quite flavorful and the meat had been cooked to perfection - soft, succulent, fall-off the Bone and well marinated into the Do Pyaaza stew. I did also like the fresh sliced onions with the Punjabi house-made Achaar served as an accompaniment, which was wonderful! Finally we also tried the different desserts - the Sheera was ok but we loved the Jalebi and Fruit Custard. All in all a good value for money! We will come back for another round soon!

My "quick search" for local Indian food spat out Delhi6 Indian Kitchen & Bar as the top choice. Thirty minutes and 14 miles of Highland Village pavement later, I checked Google Maps only to find there was an Indian spot one mile from my location. At that point, I wasn't just hungry; I was "Yelp-betrayed" hungry. Walking into Delhi6 is a bit of a trip. I expected a standard restaurant; I got a lounge that felt like I should have traded my sneakers for a velvet blazer. It was dim, moody, and featured tabletop lamps that made me feel like I was about to negotiate a high-stakes merger--or at least a very serious order of Garlic Naan. I was greeted by Rohi, a man so well-dressed he made the rest of the room look under-rendered. He introduced himself as the acting manager and dropped a line so bold I almost choked on my own anticipation: "This is the best Indian restaurant in all of Texas." Sir, those are "fightin' words" in a state that takes its spices as seriously as its brisket. My expectations didn't just rise; they hit the ceiling. To see if Rohi was a prophet or just a very stylish salesman, I applied my standard Indian Food Litmus Test. No fancy bells and whistles--just the classics. Their menu, by the way, is a literal tome. It's as thick as the Cheesecake Factory menu, but thankfully with fewer pictures of Glazed Salmon and more promises of cumin-induced euphoria. The Tandoori Chicken was smokey, tender, redder than a fire engine. It had that perfect "kissed by the flames" char and a deep, smoky soul. The Chicken Tikka Masala balanced creaminess and spice. It was sweet, savory, and vibrating with bright spices. The chicken was so tender it practically dissolved on impact. The Paratha was dry and a bit tough--the one "C" on an otherwise straight-A report card. Despite the paratha being more "cardboard" than "cloud-like," the rest of the meal was a revelation. I found myself nodding along to Rohi's bold claims with every bite of that Tikka Masala. The flavors weren't just good; they were "I'm glad I drove 14 miles for this" good. It's right up there with the heavy hitters like Taj Mahal and Café Maharani. If I ever find myself in Highland Village again--or if Yelp decides to trick me into a cross-state road trip--I'm stopping back at Delhi6. Thank you, Yelp, for being terrible at math but excellent at finding me a five-star "mistake."

I kid you not, the consistency of spice and bone in vs bone out has not been there. We ordered our food today ... since it's Sunday.. and I was crying eating. It was so spicy. The gongura chicken had bones this time and my 1 spoon of biryani had atleast 6 red mirchi's. It's really hard to enjoy the food when you can't even eat it! It would have been different if there weren't spice levels offered or if we ordered a hotter spice level.. I really would hate to stop our Sunday ordering tradition due to the lack of consistency so hopefully they can let the chefs know the difference in spice levels! Also, when we first ordered gongura chicken it was green and now it's red.. I was going to give 3 stars but since we went early for breakfast Saturday and they had chai ready at 830, I will give them 4. P.S.S- this location has the nicest staff. Indian takeout can be tricky with all the curries, naan, and rice. This location of Chowrastha did a great job. The ambiance is what you'd expect of a fast casual Indian spot in the burbs. We got the chicken tikka masala, gobi 65, pepper chicken, and the navaratan korma. A huge plus of this location is that entrees come with naan and rice. In this day and age of inflation and prices, most places make you choose one which always drives us crazy since we all know white rice costs almost nothing and goes so well with the curries! The food itself was all delicious and tasty. My favorite was the gobi 65. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Super tasty. The pepper chicken was a little light on the chicken side for me (ratio of breading to chicken was too high since the chicken pieces were smaller) but others loved it. The naan was super moist and tasty. They also have several specials and BOGO days posted at the store. Highly recommend checking out this spot if you are in the area!
