The jalebi was amazing! Unfortunately, the dumplings (momos) were a huge disappointment--terrible taste and not worth the money at all.

I ordered their masala dosa and it was everything I was looking for. The dosa was light and crispy and paired well with the complementary sauces. My favorite sauce was the minty one; its so refreshing. If you don't have a high tolerance for spicy, be cautious of which dish you order because some of them are packed with some heat. My husband ordered their egg biryani and it ended up being way too spicy for him to eat. Don't underestimate the spice level. We didnt ask but I wonder if we could have adjusted the spice level so that it wasnt too spicy. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They answered all my questions. We like Indian food but aren't the most familiar, so we had to ask them to help explain the menu and for recommendations. We ordered 3 dishes which were super generous. The dosa was deceivingly large, the spicy pepper chicken was spicier than we thought, and then with the butter chicken we definitely had leftovers. Everything was great though, so I was happy to try it. We'll be returning! I really wanted to try the sampler I saw on Google, but it was lunch only. Next time!

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, all of which had generous portions: - Aloo tikki chaat - prepared and served fresh, this street food delicacy was a delight to try and a great start to our meal. - Spinach pakoras were crunchy, hot and tasty. Our party of 4 devoured this appetizer. - Hariyali Chicken Kebab - this was not what I expected. It was served with a gravy like a curry, when I'd expected a dry kebab dish from the grill. It was not my favorite. - Malai Kofta - yum! Not oily, just perfect. - Aloo Naan - very good, though I would've preferred paratha and was surprised that parathas weren't on the menu in a Punjabi restaurant. Ambiance is nothing to write home about. If you are craving a good, authentic north Indian meal with warm service, Bayleaf is a must visit.

Simple small restaurant atmosphere, but I like it (I like simple). I ordered a mild Chicken Tikka Masala and a plain Dosa (one of my new favorite Indian bread appetizers). The Dosa was really good. The Chicken Tikka Masala was pretty decent. Just a little bit spicy, and a little sweet. I have very fussy tastebuds for that dish. I liked it. Not well versed enough to give detailed description. The service was good. Again, it was a small simple place, and it lived up to that. I will be back. Particularly for the Dosa (pic attached). There were four dipping sauces. We ended up going because the weather was great and we wanted to sit outside. Not a lot of Indian places offer that. It's in a quiet neighborhood so that was good. Nothing to see.

I tried the Ulavacharu soup--absolutely delicious. It's main ingredient is horse gram, which apparently is in the legume family. It wasn't like any soup I've had before, so description is a bit tough. It was fairly spicy to start with, but less so as I kept eating it. The only things I could identify was ground up horse gram, some sweet onions, and some thinly shaved ginger, but it had a lot of complexity. Highly recommend that and the rose milk (especially if you need some relief from the spiciness when you start out.) I had a little bit of my friend's butter chicken sauce, and that was excellent too. More heavily tomato-based than I'm used to, but a lot of depth of flavor. I'd happily order that in the future. I can't wait to come back and try their buffet when my diet restrictions are over :) Service was great. I asked if a few of the menu items have coconut in them since I'm allergic, and our server double checked with the kitchen for me and was very nice about it. Really pretty dining room as well. The location isn't as central as I'd like, but that does make it easy to find parking in the lot. Definitely recommend!

Even though it's pretty basic amongst so many other dishes they had, I got the Chicken Tikka Masala, medium spice. The portion size is pretty good, and the dish had a generous amount of chicken in it. It also came with a side of rice. I enjoyed the flavor! I'd say for medium spice it wasn't that spicy - felt more like a mild to me. Honestly, I'm pretty surprised to have found good Indian food in Round Rock. Despite the good food, I'm knocking off a star due to the fairly slow service. We were sitting outside so I'm not sure if at times they forgot about us, but I ended up having to walk in the store to ask someone to take our order because no one had come in a while. Our food also came out at different times; the first few dishes came, and then it felt like there was a solid ~5-8 minutes before the rest of the dishes came.

One of the most memorable dishes we had was a special that our server highly recommended--and it was truly a showstopper. I wish I had gotten the exact name because I can't find it on their online menu, but visually and flavor-wise it was stunning. It came wrapped and cooked in a banana leaf, layered with rich, velvety saag, what tasted like thin dosa or chapati layers, egg, aromatic spices, tender chunks of meat, and curry, all melded together into this beautifully perfumed, steamy package. It was served with a cooling yogurt sauce and a chili sauce that balanced the heat perfectly. The presentation alone was gorgeous, and the flavors were deep, earthy, and incredibly comforting. We also ordered the curry goat, which was delicately spiced with a wonderful, slow-building heat. The meat was tender, the gravy rich without being heavy, and it paired perfectly with the simple white rice that let the complex spices shine. The tandoori goat chops were the family favorite by far. Everyone loved the smoky char and bold marinade. Personally, I found them a bit softer than I prefer, but the flavor was outstanding--robust, well-seasoned, and unmistakably tandoori. Finally, we ordered the Tandoori Pomfret to go, and I had it later with rice porridge. It was absolutely scrumptious. The fish was fragrant, beautifully spiced, and still juicy, making it the perfect comfort meal with the warm, soothing porridge. Overall, Subham Chettinad Grill delivers authentic, soulful Indian cooking with layers of spice, heat, and aroma that feel both traditional and thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for real South Indian and Chettinad-style flavors in Austin, this place is a must-try.
