I use to love to go here about a decade & a half ago. Loved it !! These days,.. it's just too bad the prices are so high. I will say the last time I went (this past September of 2024) - the young lady was very good at her job & had good knowledge of the place. She was very friendly, thoughtful, patient, & helped me out with the discount I was going for..although she was pressing the hard sales, I didn't fall for them but I had to let her know that I respected the hustle for sure. It's part of the job, and commission I'm sure~ Can't fault her for that ;-) I'm hoping to go back and try the red light therapy sometime soon~ I use to do the monthly specials years back, and I miss it! I love the spray tans & beds, (although not great for your skin in some ways).. I think it is good for your wellbeing if you don't overdo it; plus, it always helped me feel a lot better and gave me energy!!- (like the real sun) I hope to go enjoy a nice session before too long! It's also a very nice place, clean, - but yeah, it's costly. You pay for that of course... I would like to see them bring back the monthly's again as these annual type packages are a bit much. Most of the packages are just way too expensive. Other than that; I do love it!~ You can subscribe to their notifications (like most places) & get some coupon deals, although usually, it's for new members only...but once in a while you can catch a discounted package or deal as a return tanner. The gal at the desk was so helpful. She helped me get the best bang for my buck so to say. I will say, even if you're new, it's not a completely free session that you can get. You still have to pay a $20 "input" fee. So that's very misleading since it's not even in small print on the coupon/ad. Also, beware not all locations honor all the specials on the site. The beds were nice and clean as well. But due to the pricing and specials being misleading im only giving 4 stars. read more

Normally a 5 but the girl this morning acted like I was a nuisance. Door locked, open sign off and her what do you want attitude needs to be put in check. She didn't turn the bed on for me and after having to dress and tell her the bed was not starting..... she played like I was the idiot who couldn't hit the start button. I have been to a few different Desert Sun locations, but this one is by far my favorite!! All the staff are so friendly, especially Nina who definitely stands out! She was so helpful when explaining the different bed types and which one would be the best for me, as well as explaining lotions and different productsl! I love the staff and always feel welcome. There's Tabbi, Jenna, Nicole, Dillon who are all energetic, interactive and just amazing people. I usually start off with the wellness pod then go to red light, then gold/premium bed and a little spray tan to top it all off. I highly recommend getting the packages and lotion. Beware!!! One person will sell you a package and tell you how it will work and when to cancel your membership so you aren't charged for the next month. Then when u go in, another person will tell you the last person told you wrong and you can't tan because the last person told you wrong! They soaked me for $80, for a total combined tanning time of less than 20 minutes. I'm livid!!! read more

I worked here at the beginning of 2021. I stopped working here because they took $260 out of my commission because I had to call out because of my dog having a seizure. Now 3 days after the tax due date, I still haven't received my w2, I haven't heard from customer service in weeks, nothing from payroll, nothing from the district manager, my hiring manager, nothing at all. Desert Sun and the people who run it are so shady and unprofessional that's why there's constantly new workers, new management, and no consistency across the entire company. The workers have no other choice to pull lies out of their ass or spend their own money on products just to keep their sales to the minimum requirements. And Desert Sun is under the same LLC as Seattle Sun tan they literally created their own competition lol both are just shady and corrupt and should've been out of business a long time ago but ya can't do anything to a monopoly! read more

I tan at this Desert Sun location pretty often. All in all, I've had very good experiences there. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They do their best to accommodate customers needs and don't use high pressure sales techniques. Roxy is by far the best sales rep there and remains cheerful even with a flurry of activity. The tanning beds that I've used (Medium and High pressure) have all been in good working order and definitely are newer than most places I've been. Some of the timer readouts are shot on a few machines, but nothing that would affect your tan. My one complaint with them is that they say they have a strict walk in only policy, but I've routinely seen people cut in line because they called ahead. What's up with that??! read more

I usually love the people I've had help me out at this studio, but have been disappointed a few times over of not getting signed in in a timely manner, having to wait for a full sign up and pay session of another client, which is inefficient and puts me behind on my breaks. I am a very fair skinned girl, and not usually someone who goes to tanning beds. However I'm getting married and going on a tropical vacation in the near future, and thought it might be a good idea to get a base tan before I go. I decided to walk into this Desert Sun location to see if there was a chance I could get in a few times before I go. Well, it was not so good. First I am greated by a couple of girls that weren't very concerned with helping a new customer, then I'm told it's going to cost the same to come 2-3 times as it would the whole month. No other options period........NO THANKS!!! I will not be back. If you have lots of money to burn, and like being treated badly then this is the place for you. I hate going to this location. The girls are EXTREMELY rude and always have attitude. The manager should not be allowed to deal with customers, as she is the worst of them all. I can tell who the new girls are and that they dont have any knowledge, yet they act extremely cocky and have terrible attitude. I do have to say I love one of the girls named Mary. I was told when i got my 1st month unlimited it would be 53.00 for acct. setup,then each month after it would be 18.50 or w/o credit card acct. 25.00, so i said i will pay the 25.00 cause you would have to be stupid to have your c. Card on file so teenagers could have access monthly. So next month they wanted to charge me 53.00 again for acct. set-up again, unless i give them my c.card. so she said she would give me 10.00 discount. So next day i decided to just pay the 43.00 and the girl said that its in the computer not to give me a discount. You got to be kidding. You can blow you know what and i will take my business elsewhere. Besides they dont clean their beds,so kiss mine. read more

This is by far the worst desert sun i have ever been too. The manager has no customer service skills at all when a customer gets upset over something there doing he just adds fuel to the fire . verry unperfesional i dont get how is is the manager. I told him i wanted to put in a complaint one day about him and he said go ahead it will come back to me any way pertaining too that there was nothing i could do. They lie about who the district manager is, ive asked them on several occasions to have the DM contact me and they wont. Ive asked for the DM email or phone number and refuse to give it to me. I was told my monthy package was going to be 29.99 and i start getting charged over 40.00 a month. I payed 20.00 for the unlimited red beds, last week , well i went in today and girl working was verry rude. I guess my payment didnt go through on the first for my tanning package and told me i owed them 45.00 , i was like what for she said thats how much you get charged everymonth. I was thinking umm thats not right it should be around 30.00 something dallors and she told me i couldnt use the red beds until i paid for September. I havent even tanned in September yet so i told her to deactivate my account i didnt want to be a member any more and its the 8th and im not going to pay for something i havent used or going to use. I told her to have the DM call me and she told me his name was travis, i acctually think hes the manager. So i have no way of contacting any one in the upper management. Im so frusterated. And on one occasion one of the girls turned my bed off when i was in it so i came out and was like what just happened. I asked her to restart it and she told me no she cant becouse one person can only tan one time a day and she cant restart it. So i basically lost a tan, and i was in it for 2 mins. I can go on and on about how unprofessional they are. I wish there was another tanning place in auburn becouse i absolutely hate going to this desert sun. And there always unconsistent and RUDE!!!!!. They put notes in your chart that are derogatory and slannder. I dont think thats right at all. If you dont like your job then you should find a diffrent feild... Their medium pressure beds (gold level) are not maintained at all. I went in for full time and did not get any results. It's pretty disappointing seeing that there are people who shell out hundreds of dollars for this place. Also, when I went in I noticed that the place was not air conditioned. The tanning beds get hot, and heat up the building considerably. I could not wait to get out of there and will not be coming back. read more

I Have spent a good deal of money at this location, and am a loyal customer, so I usually enjoy the service here. However -Today, the attendant was VERY rude to my daughter while I was waiting to tan. My daughter needed to use the restroom, and this particular worker shouted at my daughter and told her she could not use the restroom and that she was trespassing, even though my daughter told her twice I was a customer and was out in the waiting room. I am so upset by this occurrence, I will never use this location again. Super rude. Way to treat your loyal customers. I will talk the manager tomorrow. read more

Horrible experience here!! Have a Desert Sun unlimited tanning package which is supposed to include all locations. Upon arrival I was told my finger would not scan so I could not tan. Surprise, surprise he told my husband the same thing!!! He (Travis) was rude and told us to go away. He said it was our fingers and not his machine. Are you kidding me??? Yes this really happened! I just joined last week and am paying $60+tax for a gold package and just found out that my friend, who also just signed up last week at the Normandy Park Dessert Sun is paying the same amount for the platinum package. I have been very happy with the customer service and short wait times for beds when I come in, and hope that they will update my account so that I am receiving the same package or I will be cancelling my membership. It is crazy that they would not offer the same deals if you are allowed to use your account at any location. read more

OK, finally went there. Bought 6 tans. Could have gotten a discount if I "liked" them on Facebook the new bible.. I told them I so not get or do Facebook and it is discrimination to only to give discounts to people with Facebook. Its like giving someone a discount because they're pink. Or giving them a discount because they go to a particular church. Desert Sun does not have the right to hold back discounts because of certain clubs in groups memberships. It's bad enough white people are taxed on tanning. I went there 6 times 4 out of the 6 times the people behind the desk could not locate my name in the computer even though I'm the only one in the United States with this particular name. So far I find the Desert Sun stores been to three of them they're dumps and the girls don't know how to operate the machines the customer service sucks you know I don't know what the problem is here in Washington but hello why are you always so brain dead. read more

I ONLY go to this location, because the staff is amazing!! I love the new manager, Evan, She knows the names of all my children and always asks how they are. I am dissapointed to read these reviews about her, because my friends and I only buy from her! The other girls are great as well, super friendly and do push sales, but thats their job!
