I'm an avid skier and snowboarder and have been going on day trips to Snowbowl in Flagstaff since I was 13 years old. I started taking Desert Snow Connection a few years ago and it has changed everything for me. Since I discovered this company, I'm skiing more than I ever have each season. Basically they pick you up on a nice bus at 5am in either Mesa or Phoenix and take you directly to Snowbowl and back (2.5 hours one way). You get back to the Valley around 8pm. There is storage space under the bus for your snow gear, WiFi on the bus and outlets at your seat to charge your phone. DSC does trips daily after Christmas until the season is over. Tickets are usually around $100 and includes transportation and your lift pass (which are handed to you on the bus when you arrive at Snowbowl). They also offer transportation only if you are a season ticket holder. It's an awesome deal and saves you the wear and tear on your vehicle to drive up the mountain and back. Plus you can take a nap on the way back after a long day of shredding. They will make a quick stop at a rest stop for a bathroom break. Seating is first come, first serve. So make sure you arrive at pick-up on time. DSC also does a few out-of-state trips to places like Purgatory and Big Bear. Check out their website for dates. This will be the only way we travel to Snowbowl from here on out. I found these tickets for a very busy day on Saturday for 120 that includes your lift ticket and very nice ride to there and back. We got picked up at ski pro Mesa at 4:45 am and left at 5am. We got to SnowBowl at 8:30 am with enough time to get rentals and have a full day on the slopes. They provided us our lift passes when we got off the bus. At the end of the day we just packed out stuff back on and started our trip back home. They played a move and let us stop at a gas station on the way back to all use the bathroom and get snacks. There is a bathroom on the bus as well. The staff is very nice and the bus was very comfortable. We got back to Ski Pro Mesa at around 7:45 pm. I love that we didn't have to deal with the hassle of driving home after a long day, we all just got to sleep. 100/10 I love this company read more

This company has absolutely blown me away with their customer service! They have been so accommodating when it comes to tickets and assigned seats. I booked two separate tickets for the same day at different times so we had seats in opposite sides of the bus, they quickly and kindly arranged things so that we could sit together. They've been WONDERFUL on communication. Another situation came up with the tickets and they quickly helped us with no issue! We actually won't ride until Sunday but I have super high hopes that this company is as incredible as they've already been!!! read more

During a time when Customer Service is sometimes non-existent, Jose & Desert Snow Connection were great to work with. We had a 15 youngsters that had never skied before and were planning on taking lessons at Snowbowl. 18 hours prior to departure, Snowbowl cancelled the lessons. After a glorious snow dump they brought out two immaculate coaches to give customers plenty of extra and unoccupied space. This is the easiest way to plan a ski trip. We are new to skiing, we drove up one weekend, got a hotel, rented skies, ski lessons, etc. When we returned our skies to SkiPro we noticed a bus with skiers returning their gear. After asking a guy getting off the bus about it, we thought we'd give it a try. Here's the skinny: My husband, 7 year-old, 4 year-old, and I arrived at the Mesa SkiPro at 4:45am. We put our skies and poles in the compartment under the bus. We packed our snow gear in a duffel bag and packed a backpack/cooler with snacks (and beer) and brought that on the bus along with our snow boots. The kiddos had pillows and blankets. The guy in front of me had an eye mask and I'll add that to my list for next time. I bought some breakfast burritos the night before and I warmed them up before we left the house and wrapped them to keep them warm-ish. We slept the first hour then ate then slept on and off. The bus stayed dark. I shared a blanket with my daughter b/c I was cold. The kiddos played on their tablets. I had read a review that said there were phone chargers, but I did not find any on our bus. The ride was easy and smooth. Every one was pretty quite on the ride up, mostly sleeping. When we got to the resort at about 8:30-8:45. Most everyone put their snow gear on on the bus. There were benches set up outside the bus, but we didn't know that and put our boots on inside the bus. No biggie, but next time I'll know. I came back to the bus during lunch time and grabbed our cooler from the bottom of the bus. That was nice! We sat in the restaurant area and ate there. We skied until 3:30pm then headed for the bus. We changed out of our boots and back into our shoes using the benches. We grabbed our seats and tucked ourselves in for the drive home. They played a movie on the way home, family friendly, but a bit too loud so it was harder to fall asleep but we still managed. The bus arrived back in Mesa, after dropping off the Phoenix folks, on time. We headed into SkiPro and returned our gear then went home. This was easy-peasy. I don't think we will ever make the drive ourselves again. I highly recommend. Incredible service and great price! I decided to go skiing at the last minute, and I got a combination bus and lift ticket ($65) for less than the cost of buying a lift ticket last minute from Snowbowl since they buy their lift tickets in advance before Snowbowl jacks the price up. Bus was clean and nice with leather seats. It was so nice to sleep on the way home! Was under capacity and easy to spread out with COVID. They require masks on the bus, but one guy flat out didn't wear his. I was far enough away from him to not be concerned. They even fed us lunch for free with a request for a good tip. The Snowbowl resort food is expensive, hard to find a place to sit outside, and the wait to sit inside takes a long time, so it was great to be able to chill outside or on the bus and eat. Bring a camping chair to sit outside the bus. They let you store stuff under the bus all day so you don't have to pay for a locker. They gave us a couple of waters and a granola bar. I have health challenges, and they were really accommodating to let me come back and rest on the bus early. Rudimentary bathroom on the back of the bus for #1 only. They stop midway or as needed for #2. They stop at a gas station on the way up for snacks. They really thought of everything. There are USB ports and chargers at each seat as well as cup holders. Great experience and will use again! Much cheaper than getting a hotel room to get to Snowbowl early enough before they fill up. read more

What a difference from driving up. Yes its a bit early to leave, but i brought a pillow and small blanket. We had a new bus so the ride was quiet, and smooth, easy to sleep. The bus got to park only 100 yards from grand Canyon lift. No waiting in ticket line, easy to go back to bus and switch out gear later on day as it warmed up. So much easier than waiting to park, waiting to buy ticket, easy to get back to change gear. read more

Ive used desert snow connection multiple times and always had a blast with my girlfriend. They offer an inexpensive way to get up to the mountain and make the trip worry free. 30 mins before the trip was supposed to leave (about 5:30am) - we find out the driver can't leave until 8:30am or 9am. So then what is the point!? None of us was looking get a 1/2 day at Snow Bowl! As for my group we just drove ourselves split into four different cars. That said, I would not be writing this but now Jose won't refund the money. He said he would. I called him twice and he said he will "ASAP" but never did. I am done following up and will just dispute it with my credit card company and now I am writing this; my first ever negative review. I would give them a ZERO if I could. Great deal but only if they show up. They will always tell you that they can't wake there drivers up if they don't have enough people to go on the trip. They won't even back up there statement online about not canceling due to ticket sales, that is a complete lie. I would rather not go at all then to be constantly told that "there drivers can't wake up" such a lack of professionalism. I am gonna see how many times this year it happens and I will keep posting. Last Friday I rode with Desert Snow Connection up to Arizona Snowbowl and it was perfect and totally worth the money. For $65, I had roundtrip transportation to Arizona Snowbowl on a new and nice tour bus (with bathroom on board), and a full day lift ticket! I was able to nap both ways, and on the way back, they played a movie. Everybody was friendly (riders and the staff), and on time! It was a great way to save $, and get up to the mountains without having to drive myself! I will definitely be using them again! read more

I've ridden with these guys three times now. First two years were great -- bus showed up on time, you got to watch a movie, plenty of space to store gear etc. Just rode with them on Superbowl Sunday 2015 and was very disappointed. When the bus showed up, it was one of those short bus things with very limited storage, and the movies weren't working. Bus was a couple minutes late. Ok these are very minor things and up to this point, it wouldn't have been a problem. BUT, then we went to get gas, and THEN we stopped by the driver's house and were parked outside there for about 10 minutes while he "got a toolbox". These shenanigans, combined with the fact that the short bus has zero power going up hills meant that we got to the mountain about 40 minutes after the lift opened. In previous years we've gotten there a bit before, so you have time to check in, get suited up and you're on the lift when it opens at 9AM. If I'm paying good money to ride up, you should gas up and get your shit together the night before, and get me there on time like it says in the ad. I won't be riding with these guys again. Compared with driving, it costs more, takes longer, and you ski less. read more

My recent trip to Snowbowl had a bus breakdown half way through. Of course not DSC's fault as anyone can have a breakdown, but still made us lose time & they had to deal with a bus full of unhappy customers. They handled it very professionally, provided partial refunds and discounts on the next trip. They provided extra beverages & did a good job at making a bad situation better. They played movies up & back, and all in all it was pretty fun. I'll never drive to snowbowl again - this is a great service and I for one will tell all my ski buddies about it.
