I went to see a 730p showing but I was early. When I went in the previous showtime was wrapping up/ending and I didn't want spoilers. The gentleman (could have been manager, I'm not sure) saw me coming out and asked if everything was ok (with genuine concern) I told him my movie was ending and I'm gonna wait for my showtime. He was getting ready to start the same movie with earlier start time and allowed me to just go into that theatre instead of waiting 30 min for my movie start time. I really appreciated how kind he was to me. The theater was comfortable and clean. The concession lady was also very kind and patient as I figured out what I wanted to get. I'd definitely return. I was looking for the gentleman when movie ended to get his name but I didn't see him. I would've definitely given him a shout out by name. read more

Just got turned away by the manager for having a backpack. I didn't want to leave it in the car. For a struggling cinema, not allowing backpacks (or at least asking for a search) doesn't make sense. Lots of high school students in the area too. Shouldn't be surprised as two customers were being ushered out of the cinema as I arrived. They seemed confused about their own situation. Sadly, there is so much to appreciate about the location of this theatre, but the business is declining and the reason is strictly on the ownership and management. Staffing is subpar, mainly due to not paying the employees wages. The snack bar is dismal. From stale popcorn to the candy display being faded to shades of lavender from lack of upkeep. The theatres are nearly empty every time I've gone there, which is kind of nice because of no crowding and plenty of seating choices, but very outdated. Films will begin with the overhead lights on until someone goes for help then once the film is over turning lights on to see your way out without falling. Very few residents in Green Valley want to drive 20 miles to Tucson to see a movie and they do like being able to get out for dinner and a film, but everyone is disappointed with Desert Sky. Not a fan. First of all, we went to see the left behind movie, and they charged us $15. Per person, Calling it a movie event. The price was not posted anywhere. We pay $6. Normally for seniors. Feel like the theater was just ripping us off. There was no senior discount period. My 2nd complaint was that the screen seemed awful dark. Not sure why that was. Probably won't be back. Rather go into Tucson, have a nice comfortable chair, and be served food and beverages at my seat for only $10. read more

The convenience in Green Valley is the biggest factor. However the new movies are not our style. We are very sad to see this venue closing. Even old movies we have already seen would be better than the recent films being made. All action, all noise, not good stories. read more

We had a great time, seats very comfortable and this theater is very affordable!! 3 tickets for a movie, large popcorn (with refill) and two large drinks (with refills) plus a big box of whoppers for approx $48. The new owners have been working hard. New sound system is great. Different feel from a few years ago, can't wait til they're done with remodeling. Popcorn much improved, no hot dogs or pretzels at the last visit. Hopefully remedied soon... Seems its popular again here in sahuarita...really glad we gave it a second chance. The movie theatre is convenient and even charming, I was willing to overlook the overpriced, cold and stale food, as well as how run down and dirty the theater is however yesterday I went to see Deadpool and was extremely disappointed with the way management treats their employees. Seeing a 40 year old neurotic man yelling and humiliating 3 teenage boys that couldn't be a day over 16 is where I draw the line. Good: We enjoyed the movie. The price of the movie was quite good. We didn't use the concession stand, but it appeared to be fine. Needs improvement: The facility is dated. Old seats (uncomfortable), carpet, etc. When we entered the theatre where the movie was to be shown, all the lights were off. We had to use the light on our cell phones to navigate and find seats. The facility is dirty at all levels. Entry/foyer, bathrooms, hallways, theatre. No paper towels in men's and women's bathrooms and the hand dryer blowers didn't work either. read more

went to see Deadpool at 2 PM. Wine was outrageous concessions there was only one person working at the start. Another person joined again. I think they were shortstaffed. Maybe somebody called out who I believe came out to help was horrible. Apparently the machines were out and they were getting soda from the back, so it was flat had no carbonated water in it, we ordered $45 the two hotdogs we received for ice cold. I sent them back employees and the manager handed them to him. He was sorry the microwave again still when we got home two sets of fries. both of them were still cold. We had to take them back during the movie because that's when we received them didn't show the trailer and a couple different times. I'm sorry for that but at least you do the job do it the first time you don't have to redo it because it waste your time and mine. read more

For 18 years we've been coming here. It's close by, and that's really the only reason. Today after a long walk in the heat, my kids and I had water bottles. We were told it was a health code violation to drink our own water. I started to ask questions to which the owner replied quite defensively and I would even say in a hostile manner. I told him I should be allowed to ask questions. He was so extremely rude and condescending. I told him all things could be talked about calmly and that this was no way to run a business. I told him I understand he needs to make money and would rather us purchase goods, he then replied in strong sarcasm, "oh! What a thought!! A business trying to make money!!!" He then handed me my card and said, "we are done here"...all of this tasteless behavior in front of my kids. I was quite shocked at this extely immature behavior. I once felt strongly about supporting this local business.But this man and his "business-like" manner do NOT deserve support. I also recorded the conversation. read more

We stopped by this Theater to watch a newly released Christian Movie But as it turned out the Movie turned out to be a Musical Which we did not like. When I asked the Man behind the Concession Stand wearing a Woman‍Skirt if we could go see a Different Movie he would Not allow us to that. Today we went to see a movie at Desert Sky Cinema. Their web page showed a 12:30 show time, but when we arrived, we were told that their 12:30 show was cancelled due to the Internet being down. Disappointed, still we chose another 12:30 movie there, only to discover that their closed caption capability was working for that show. Seems they are having big maintenance issues. read more

last year, i purchased a popcorn bucket and soda cup. able to be refilled up to three more times/visits. Used them twice each. just went to the theatre to see john wick 4. brought the bucket and cup only to be told they will not honor the refills anymore. it is very upsetting that they would not honor it especially spending a good amount on the two items that cost them very little to fill. also, their projector light bulb was flickering the whole movie which was annoying. it is a small theatre and not a chain. i really like supporting small business but after this experience, it is leaving a not so good taste in my mouth for this theatre. read more

Recently went to the Desert Sky Cinema to watch a movie. When I entered theatre 4, the screen was very dim and indistinct. I went back up to the concession area and reported this issue and was assured it would be looked at. When the movie previews started, and the house lights dimmed it was still obvious that something was amiss as the screen was still dim and indistinct. I again reported my concern and was again told they were looking at it. Finally, the movie started and there was no improvement in the view. Went back to the front desk to voice my concern and was told "that's just how that movie looks". I've seen the trailers and that is NOT how the movie looks. Asked for a refund and was promptly issued one. I however had spent another 15 dollars on soda and popcorn that I didn't need as I didn't stay for the movie. This was my second time out of 3 visits that were a disapointment. Will not be returning and will certainly share my experience with my friends and family. read more

I was told the theater does NOT accept nickels or dimes when buying a ticket. Quarters only. When i asked about this and whether it was legal to do so, the unpleasant young woman cashier frowned and seemed annoyed that i asked. Not the way to win customers and keep them coming back. This is a small privately owned movie theater. Very clean. Nice people running the snack bar/concession stand. Comfy seats in a clean theater. There were only 4 short previews then right to the movie. That shocked me in a good way. Not many people there on a hot Monday but that was ok with us. Very clean bathroom. I am both appalled and annoyed that a verbal contract made with the concessions counter at the end of last year (buy this tub for $25 and we will refill it 5x, and no, there's no expiration - I checked) is no longer being honored. You may have signs up in your lobby, but 1. Your young staff member working did NOT have to be rude about it, and 2. It was for a limited number of refills. This was not the "unlimited refill" bucket. The other reason I will likely no longer go to your theater is that after the younger rude woman (working Saturday, 2/25 at 12pm) was extremely confrontational with me about the refills, the popcorn I PURCHASED was stale. When I asked about the butter (it didn't seem to be working), she then rudely stated, "Yeah, it's not working right now because if got unplugged." No apologies, no offer to try to make ANY of my experience better, etc. I had a terrible experience at your theater and I don't expect to be back. For a small town theater hoping to keep its customers by making the "moviegoing experience the BEST," as stated above, I am not impressed. I have no problem driving 20 min north to a nicer theater with better seats and FRESH popcorn. read more

A small movie theatre compared to those in Tucson which I love because it feels like a home theatre depending on what time of day you go. i wish i could leave this place a 0 stars there are so many wrong things with this place first of all the owner was disgusting to her worker when he was doing his best she was being so rude to him i couldn't believe it he was probably about 16 years old and his customer service was a lot better then the owner of the business she was rude to customers she was rude to him in front of customer second they were not prepared nor stocked for inside out two to play and people to come in i waited for my nachos for about ten minutes because the cheese was gone then i ended up getting cold cheese straight from the bag, because they were so unprepared the movie didn't start till nearly 30 minutes late and when the movie started she started it from the middle spoiling the movie and it didn't have any sound forcing me and another women to get out of our seats to go tell her i could not believe this owner and i don't know how this place is still open i've never been anywhere with customer service from the owner so bad third of all anytime they got food for someone they put on a single glove the owners whole bare hand was inside of the popcorn and her bracelets were dragging all over the food this place needs a serious health inspection and be possibly taken down this owner treats her employees like trash i cannot belive this place please don't go here i'm scared im gonna get sick from the food i was given because the cheese was taken straight out of a cabnit and not a fridge please don't go here read more

This is a tiny theatre compared to going to the park mall, however it shows the same movies. I would say it's 100% cleaner, the seats don't recline but are comfortable. I will drive the extra 20 minutes to come here and pay less than going to an over crowded way over prices mall theatre. read more

Came here for a deal I purchased off LivingSocial. The theater is smaller. I went to see a movie that had been out a few weeks so it had a smaller crowd. The seats were comfy, air wasn't super chilly and it felt just right for the hot 85f days right now. Sound didn't blow me out of my seat like some theaters do, which was nice to me. The employees seemed kind of scattered and all over the place but overall they did everything correctly. I wouldn't come here for any new releases considering the size of the theater, but if you're looking for a quiet weekend place to go hangout I would recommend it.
