I had a very disappointing experience with Desert RV Towing. My vehicle was only in their possession for about two days, yet the price they charged was completely unreasonable and felt excessive for the amount of time and service provided. What made things worse was the lack of transparency. The pricing wasn't clearly explained upfront, and by the time I got my vehicle back, the total was far higher than expected. It honestly felt like I was being taken advantage of. Situations like this are already stressful, and instead of helping, this company made it even more frustrating. There needs to be more honesty and fairness when it comes to pricing and customer communication. I would strongly recommend looking into other towing options before using this company. read more

Mike R. at Desert RV saved the day. My motorcycle tire back tire blew on the highway - once moved off the highway, the Highway Patrol stopped to assist. They contacted dispatch with my AAA membership to find a tow company to come out. Desert RV was the only company to accept the job. If a negative was possible that's what you'd get. BUYER BEWARE...Desert RV in Brawley California is shady in their business practices. They wrecked our rig we were storing with them. Joel has uninsured yard workers moving million dollar rigs and toys. We took his word and gave him a chance to take care of the repairs since according to him his worker who drove our rig while in Desert RV possession isn't covered under his insurance. We gave Joel the benefit of the doubt and confided in him to take care of the repairs after HE ASKED US NOT TO GET INSURANCE INVOLVED. Half assed unfinished repairs is what we received in return after 5 months and a whole summer of lost usage. He did us dirty. Joel and his crew to the rescue! My new air conditioner crapped out shortly after I bought it. I live in a remote primitive campground in the state park and finding a mobile tech that did warranty work was a challenge. Joel was quite hesitant at first because of the distance. I'm not ashamed to admit I begged. He was the closest Dometic approved mobile service. It took 6 weeks for all the hoops to be jumped through, but it was finally installed today. Extra special thanks to Travis (give him a raise), who went the extra mile and kept me informed of what was going on and replied to my texts and calls quickly. Luis, the installer was a really nice guy and got the new unit installed quickly. So the stress of dealing with 100°+ temps is in my rear view mirror. We had to have some upgrades on a trailer we just purchased. We needed to do some major changes to the structure that keeps the trailer from flexing too much when on the road. We checked Yelp and decided to go to Desert RV Service in Brawley. Armando was our service provider. He was very nice and helped us get the trailer to better than new condition. Emilio did the work and was great. They had the capability of removing the front off the structure and replace with a new one. It took a bit but we trusted it would be done well. We are happy with the job done and feel very safe when on the road. I would definitely take our RV back to Desert RV for any work. They are capable of doing big jobs. read more

Had them fix a couple of water leaks price was not horrible. Repair were sufficient communications was good. Ask them to fill the water they said they would. They did not! Now to my issue don't leave anything of value in your Coach if you go here. My $150 flashlight was in my coach when I left it with them and was not there when I got it back. Earlier this year I used them to help rehabilitate a vintage trailer. The tech who worked on it Emilio as ok and seemed responsive. The contact, Cameron, was also easy to deal with. I also used them for mobile repair work on my stationary 5th wheel and was happy. The mobile techs name was Frank. Fast forward to the present -- I have a power recliner that will not retract. Being in my late 70s I need assistance removing it from the mounts so I can find the model number for the control unit. I called Desert RV last Thursday and tried to talk with Frank then Cameron. Neither are employed there now, so I talked with Emilio. After explaining my issue he said he'd be in the area today, Tuesday, and would come be to give me a hand. I called at 8 AM to confirm he'd be coming. The phone was answered by a gruff male who I believe is the owner. I asked for Emilio. He wanted to know why and I told him. He said he'd have Emilio call me. Come noon no Emilio and no callback. I called again. Another male answered and said Emilio was probably at lunch and he'd have him call. 2PM rolled around and still no call, so I tried again and finally got Emilio. He said that his boss told him not to come because "they don't work on those things." Now ok, then have the courtesy to let me know! I find it completely unacceptable that they would treat a previous customer like that and have no intention of ever giving them another penny. Only reason I gave them two stars was because previous work was pretty good, not close to perfect, but ok. read more

I manage a small RV dealer in San Diego and we had a mutual customer that was having his 5th wheel hitch installed at Desert RV Service so that he could come pick up his new 5th wheel from us. There were a couple parts that didnt make it in time for the hitch and our customer needed the unit for his vacation the following day. Joel Gonzalez from Desert RV Service hopped in his work truck and hauled butt almost 2 hours to our location (to make it before we closed) to get our customers 5th wheel and take it straight to his house and complete his hitch the following morning. I have never seen anything like that. Joel had a great attitude and our main priority was taking care of the customer. I will be referring anyone in the desert to Joel and cant say enough great things about his company. Inconveniences and mishaps happen every day, what matters is how we handle it, and he went above and beyond, driving 4 hours round trip, putting miles on his truck and spending a ton in gas, to make sure our customer got what he needed. I'm giving four stars for two reasons, first the price is too high considering you don't even get warranty compared to most Window Tinting places that charge that much. Second, the inconvenience and a blurred line in one of the windows. I paid $200 for them to tint all of my windows and they do not offer lifetime warranty. I am just hoping that the tint doesn't turn purple but I have only had my windows tinted for about two months. I have to admit I was pleased with how quickly they were able to schedule an appointment for me to get my vehicle tinted. My appointment was at 9:30 am and I believe it was ready at about 2 pm. Upon receiving my vehicle I did a walk-through and was happy about it. read more

I wouldn't recommend coming to this shop. My vehicle was done poorly and I was lied to many times. I had to keep reminding them about what needed work on my vehicle and it wouldn't get done. I waited way too long for my car than I would have any where else. Most of the people are really nice but the work was done poorly. They placed incorrect items on my vehicle and said they completed all work just to find out that none of it was completed correctly or at all. Our trailer broke the day after Christmas about 2 miles from Desert RV Service. We called, and the owner himself came to help us within 5 minutes of calling. He helped us limp our trailer to his shop and immediately started working on it. Fixed a broken leaf spring and a water line with parts he had on hand. We were in and out within a couple hours. The staff was super friendly and the young employee that fixed everything was very helpful and knowledgable. So grateful for Desert RV Service for saving our trip to Glamis. Out duning this past week and ran into a failed factory clamp on my 2018 momentum. Called the dune store and was recommended to Desert rv service. We sent pictures and video to their tech and they came out in a timely manner to do the repair. They did forget to bring hose clamps and needed to borrow a lighter to pull the piping apart. But I was happy to pay the $150 service fee and $110 per hour minimum (took 30 minutes to repair) they forgot their ladder and I immediately called and texted their tech to retrieve it. The next morning it was leaking again as the repair was not holding. I tried texting and calling their tech without a response. I was forced to leave a day early because of no water and had another mobile repair company fix back in Phoenix. I reached out to them again without response not knowing the number I was using was their tech who doesn't respond when not at work. I put a posting on sxs addicts Facebook page and things really got out of hand. The owner called me upset about the post, I am openly apologizing for not contacting the shop. My understanding was that the person I was texting was the owner. It turns out the person I was texting was the tech. The owner stated he would have made it right if I had called the shop and resolved the issue correctly. The owner made things right and no hard feelings. read more

Walked in with part bought by a friend before New Years . The part ended up not being the right adapter for our trailer. We had the receipt and wanted to exchange it for the right part or get our money back . Owner would not Return part without the card in hand . We had a photo of the card and the receipt also he could have offered store credit or cash back. This review is a little late, but wanted to get it done regardless. I have had 2 occasions to use Desert RV's services this year. The 1st time was to repair our Motorhome's Norcold 1200 refrigerator, and the 2nd was to replace one of our air conditioners. The fridge needed the cooling unit replaced (under extended warranty), the AC unit was on us. On both occasions Desert RV took care of us efficiently and professionally! I have not had good experiences with RV services in the past (some good, many not so much) but Desert RV moved the needle up with great customer service. If the need arises again, I wouldn't hesitate to give them a call. read more

Had a small tear on the roof of my toy hauler, so I dropped it off at the only place in town. The guy that directed me where to drop off the trailer asked me what it was in for so I told him about the small tear for repair. (My guess it would be at most a 2 hr job) He said something that concerned me about redoing the whole roof, so I called and spoke to the service rep to be sure he call me with a quote before they began the work. Fast forward 3 weeks with no callback... I called and service rep says they had to order parts?... and they were late, but it would be about $375. I agreed to those terms and another 2 weeks go by. No one called so I stopped by to see what the status was. They say it should be done by the end of the week. I go pick it up and the bill is $607! Hoping for a civil discussion and maybe some compromise on the bill, Owner Joel Gonzalez comes out and tries to lecture me on how business works and how "quotes are just quotes", and there's no obligation to stick to them. He tells his employee to just give me ..."1 hr off the labor cause I'm not going to argue, but in the future you can take your RV somewhere else!" Uncalled for, but didn't need to be said.... Of course, I wouldn't think to ever do business with this crook again! Oh, and it turns out...they redid the entire 27' side of the roof about 6" in! Gave this number a call and the owner right away said we're closed but what's going on how can I help you? Took care of us we had to leave our trailer because what happened to it wasn't really fixable without the axle being changed. But seriously thank you for coming out and taking our RV to the shop! We have wintered along the Salton Sea for several years and have had Desert RV Service in Brawley, CA do repairs (including warranty) on our motorhome several times, both with their mobile service and us taking our Coach to Brawley. Prior to this current experience, we have always been very pleased with their service and work. However, on October 15, 2019, we took our Coach into Desert RV to have the door arm replaced (we supplied the part). Emilio did the work and all appeared fine when we left. (Emilio has done previous work on our RV, always satisfactory). We arrived at our winter site, 35 miles north of Desert RV, and the next day, we noticed that the screen door was dragging. I immediately called Armando and we discussed his mobile unit coming out within the next month to make the repairs. Understandably, he wanted to wait until he had other work in our park. As the days progressed not only has the screen door worsened, but the actual door has become very hard to close. I must say we are in the process of selling our Coach, and wanted the door fixed before we show it to people. The problem with the door is VERY obvious. A couple of weeks after the 1st phone call, Armando called and asked if we were in the park THAT DAY because he was there. At the time we were 150 miles away. Over the last few weeks we have called and spoke to various people at Desert RV, however, Armando has not been available to talk with us, nor has he called us back. During the week of November 11th, we were told that Armando was waiting for a part to arrive for another customer in our park, and once that part arrived they would come to us and fix our Coach. They expected to be at our park during the first part of the following week, which didn't happen. On November 20th, we were told that Armando would call us on Friday (11/22) and tell us if he would be out to us Monday (11/25) or Tuesday (11/26) the following week. Armando, nor anyone from Desert RV, called on 11/22. This morning (11/25), I called and Armando was "with a customer." I explained the issue with Joel (whom I don't believe I had spoken to before), and he kept telling me to bring the Coach into the shop. I explained that this wasn't possible at this time, and for the past 6 weeks, Armando and other employees have been promising to come out to our park to fix the issue that was not apparently done correctly on October 15th. Joel asked me if the door worked ok when I left their shop, and I said, "yes, all appeared fine" however the next day the screen door was dragging, and subsequently, the actual door has become harder and harder to close (need BIG muscles), as each day goes by. Joel flat out said they were not sending a mobile unit out, and that I would have to bring it to the shop. This is after 6 weeks of talking to various employees who continually promised they were going to fix their original work here at our RV site. I hate giving Desert RV a bad review, especially because prior to this season, we have always had satisfaction from them. However, we have got nothing but a run around in the last 6 weeks, with promises and promises that they have failed to uphold. I am not sure if Joel was even aware of our situation and many phone calls to their shop, but obviously, the employees are not on the same page, nor talking about what they tell a customer. 6 weeks after the initial work and various employees telling us that they would come to our site, Joel flat out says they were not coming up to our park. I might not have been so upset if at day one, I had been told I had to bring the Coach to Brawley, rather than strung out for 6 weeks thinking someone was coming to my RV site. I hope that they change their mind, and immediately get in touch with us. If that happens, I will definitely change my YELP review. read more

I am forced to take him to court to get it handled. He is very dishonest. He even trys to butter you up by telling you he was a cop. Wow, what a bad experience. These guys may do good work and others may have had good experiences with them, but I did NOT! Here's the short version. They came to tow my trailer for a repair job and ended up bending my rear stabilizers. What happened next was ridiculous. The driver blamed me for bending them, refused to tow me and as he drove off said, "I don't like working with stupid people." Everything is great until you tell them what the did wrong and then watch-out...they don't handle it well. Don't expect them to be honest w/ you. If they make a mistake they will lie and try to cover it up or blame you. Here's the long version. First off, I had the tow (pick up and delivery) set up via AAA but when the employee of Desert RV Service called me he tried to get me to change my plans and have my 5th wheel towed to his shop. When I declined, he had the audacity to tell me to take it to his shop again. I declined again. He said he would be to my place in an hour and it took two hours. When he gets here he looks around the trailer and then gets ready to load it but cannot get the front hydraulics to work. I reached up and pushed the switch and it moved just fine. That raised a question in my mind about his abilities. Then he just starts raising the trailer up. There was a noise on the back end and he stops raising it and asks me if the rear jacks were up. I said no and wondered why he asked me....isn't part of his profession towing 5th wheels? He had already walked around the trailer, he should have noticed they were down. Well, we walk to the back of the trailer and the rear support jacks were bent. He tells me that he would have to pull off the rear jack legs but didn't bring the tools to do so. I asked what he was going to do about the bent legs and he said he couldn't tow it because the rear jack wouldn't go up. I said that he was the one who was raising the trailer and he bent the legs. At this point the guy says that he couldn't get the switch to work and that I was the one raising the trailer. I explained that I moved the trailer about an inch in each direction and then he started raising it. I figured he knew they weren't up in the back because he had walked around the trailer already. Now, he gets visibly upset and says he's doesn't like being accused and that he is not going to tow the trailer and gets in his truck to leave. I ask what he's going to do and he says someone else can tow me. By this time I am next to his truck explaining what just happened and that he can't just leave because my trailer needs to be fixed. He's now on the phone and says someone else will come out and tow me and with me standing next to his truck he just drives off. I said, "woah, you almost ran me over." He stops the truck, reverses and says, "What'd you say...I almost ran you over." I told him I was pretty close to his truck. He then says, "I didn't ask you to stand by my truck, why don't you just move away when I'm leaving." At this point, I take three steps back and wave him on. He then starts yelling, "I am outta' here I hate working with stupid people." And then he just drove off leaving me there with a broken rear jack and no one to tow me to get the repairs. I was flabbergasted by how quickly this guy got upset, how angry he got at me, and that he stooped to personal insults. This type of response seems to be quite telling. Anyway, I am so glad I did not let him take my 5th wheel to his shop for repairs...who knows what would have happened. read more

My 5th wheel broke a leaf spring on Forester Road, just 17 miles short of my destination, the Rio Bend Rv Park. I was able to stop and get off the road. Good Sam called Desert Rv and they responded promptly and worked tirelessly into the darkness to get my rv back on the road. I cant say enough about their professional approach and dedication to getting me safely on my way. The following morning in a follow up repair, the crew came to the rv park, and replaced the other side of the rv's leaf spring. After my new tires arrived they once again came to the rescue and took my damaged tires off, ran the wheels into El Centro, had the new tires mounted, brought them back to my space and mounted them on the 5th wheel. They will have my undying gratitude for their expert and excellent service. I highly recommend them. read more

While we do not often give such a rating.....we believe in our case it is warranted. We have been trying for almost 3.5 months to schedule a mobile visit to our toyhauler in Ocotillo Wells for a PDI and some much needed maintenance. Over the course of some 3.5 months I have called and spoken with no less than 4 persons who took my info and advised we would be contacted regarding their mobile schedule. Also ran into an employee in EL Centro @ Coyne and requested the same help.......to date no-one has bothered to either call back to offer assistance or if there is no interest in our request to offer a referral to another who might. We endeavor to always try and support Imperial County businesses whenever we can. That being said business today is far to difficult to alienate would-be customers in this manner. The rating is purely reflective of our belief that no one we have dealt with either generally cares about our new business or cares enough to at least make contact back. This is an unfortunate testimony to this business. read more
