We called Gonzalez Auto Repair, and they were a hundred times more helpful than my first call to my actual insurance company (who wouldn't give me roadside assistance and would only supply a tow truck that I would have had to pay out of pocket for -- to make it back to LA would have been way too expensive). We were a solid thirty miles from any town and the guys at Gonzalez provided me with tips and a number to call their partnered towing company (it's all run by the same family) who came as quickly as possible and towed us back to Brawley in no time. They stayed open for us and diagnosed our car (a rental) with a broken radiator and helped me deal with my rental company in terms of payment and a plan of action to figure out the cheapest option. We couldn't get it fixed until the next morning since we needed a part replacement, but one of the guys gave us great info about the cheapest hotel rates, restaurants, entertainment, etc. He called us a cab to take us to the hotel and picked us up the next morning, too. Repair was done on time, with no trouble. They have wonderful customer service and everyone who works there is incredibly friendly. If I ever get stranded in the California desert again, this is the place I'll call!

When I got my car back I was missing one of my turbos and my turning brake. Never driven car and somehow the cooler was full of empty beer cans and smelt like vodka. The rear quarter panels have scratches on them now because I heard that you have to remove the shocks to get these panels off safely. And there's a penis drawn on the roof of the car in the dust saying something about a mom. Some weird hat was left on my floorboard that looks like a snake, that a 4 year old made.

I also saw drywall screws everywhere. These yahoos got so fucked up that they dumped their leftover orange juice and vodka into my oil tank. Not only was a pissed that they did this, I was more pissed that they didnt offer me a drink upon pickup. Beyond frustrated.

He told me I could have car towed there and he would do his best to get us back on the road . Well he did meet us and immediately determined it was the starter, he told me to take his car to O'Reilly auto parts to get new starter while he takes out old one. By the time I was back he had it out and out new one in minutes!! What can you say about an owner who does this and then asks for very reasonable rate which we of course over compensated due to his extremely generous nature.
