Most likely it was because I was scouring Groupon for "deals" and waiting weeks for an appointment for a mediocre massage. It's true--you get what you pay for. A few months ago, I was experiencing severe muscle tightness and decided to look for a highly-reviewed massage therapist on Yelp. Rosie lived up to her rave reviews. She's a true professional and I really felt the difference after my sessions. Last week, I aggravated an old shoulder injury and lost most of the use of my right arm--and I'm right-handed. I was able to book a 6 AM appointment with Rosie and she handled the injury with expertise and care. She followed up with preventative stretches for me and gave me sound advice. Within two days, I was 90% better. By the 3rd day, there was no trace of pain in the joint and I had full use of my arm. A doctor would have given me pain pills and a sling. Rosie addressed the root cause of my issue. If you're serious about augmenting your self-care with regular massage, you owe it to yourself to be treated by the best. I searched on IG for " sound bath healing Bay Area" and Saisha is one of the three ladies I reached out to as I was specifically looking for Black or POC practitioners. I sent a DM to each, but for whatever reason, I decided to look up Saisha's phone number and reach out instead. Saisha answered promptly and was just as excited as I was about the idea I had. I was only a week away from my event and she was available and very informative about what she could provide and all the services she does. I didn't feel pressured at all to do more and less than what I wanted. Her energy on the phone was the same in person, and I appreciated her combo of professionalism with warmth. She gave us an amazing experience and had myself and my guests extremely grateful for the energy she produced with her singing bowls, drum and instruments. I also did a lymphatic massage with Kasia; anything that would help me reset and jumpstart into my detox/cleanse/healing again. There is a HUGE difference from seeing a Colonic Therapist for a closed-colonic-system session to sit with you and walk you through the entire session quite literally being your mental and physical Healing Coach/Supporter through it all, than sitting in a room alone through a colonic session with an open-system.
