Josiah Harvey saved my 3 week vacation. RPod 2018 R180- he trouble shooted our broken slide out for 3 days. After phone calls to the manufacturer, 3 trips to the RV supply for parts that appeared as faulty, but was really metal shavings in the motor that were shifting and causing incorrect error messages. New motor, new controller and Josiah was done. He is trustworthy, honest, kind and very knowledgeable. The starter on my Onan 4000 generator quit and I tried to replace it myself (wasn't a one-man job where I was!). I called Josiah and he was happy to show up at our campsite to work on this with me. Together we were able to drop the generator down and replace the starter. My husband and I, with my husbands 85 year old dad and uncle traveled from California to St George. We were on the road and heard a loud bang and then a hissing sound, then next a good amount of propane filled our RV. We made it safely to our KOA site, we're we shut our propane off completely. The next more we are getting ready to leave and our single slide wouldn't retract. So we searched high low for mechanic that would come to our site on Sunday. Josiah, with Desert Monkey came to our rescue. He troubled shoot all possible angles and found the problem. In addition he fixed our propane leaking issue as well. We've been living in our Travel Trailer for almost 3 weeks. Everything was going well until Thursday night when our furnace decided it was done heating the RV. It would still blow but no heat. It's been below freezing most nights. A quick search online showed several mobile RV repair outfits. After contacting the top 3 listed, all of which seemed indifferent to our plight and no time for us up to 3 weeks out I decided to start going down the list. At this point I'm glad they were too busy for us! Then I called Desert Monkey and spoke with Josiah. He said he'd be happy to help and could be here mid afternoon. He called when he was on his way and arrived on time! He happily explained his fees. I agreed and he went to work saying it shouldn't take more than an hour. After accessing and removing the furnace he explained that it appeared the intake and exhaust were clogged with soot and/or carbon build up. A good cleaning and service should correct the issue. After a thorough cleaning and re-installation the furnace fired up but was still having trouble staying lit. At this point Josiah explained that the propane was plumbed with hard line and he was afraid it had kinked when he removed the furnace. He said he would need to re-plumb the propane with a flex line. After a trip to the hardware store and cutting, flaring the line and connecting the new flex line the furnace fired up and is now working as it should. At this point he had been working on it for more than 3 hours. Josiah explained he felt the kinked line was his fault. Not really but whatever and he only charged us for 1 hour as originally stated. Josiah is not afraid of work and is definitely fair. I would highly recommend him for any of your RV repairs. We plan on having him back for some more repairs to help make up for the potential lost revenue on this job. read more
