Disclaimer: I normally write reviews in a purely informal narrative style, but for this review -…read morebecause I believe so strongly in the scientific evidence and want others to know and benefit - this review drifted into nerdiness by my inclusion of three examples of the many scientific papers as evidence for my reasons for taking HBOT therapy. I went for a series of sessions following lumbar fusion surgery because a significant body of research shows pre-operative HBOT therapy can very significantly reduce post-operative complications (Hyperbaric Oxygen Preconditioning Can Reduce Postabdominoplasty Complications: A Retrospective Cohort Study (Friedman, T., et al., 2019), especially those horrible bone infections that aren't noticed for weeks to months after surgery, and to speed up healing (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Orthopaedics: An Adjunct Therapy with an Emerging Role (Jeyaraman, M., et al., 2023). I was very impressed with Dan and Cherise for their professionalism and 100% attention to the entire process. Their attention to detail and professionalism meant even more to me considering HBOT therapy means being kept in a small container where, if you're claustrophobic, it can be stressful. To help with this, Dan always had a ready supply of television shows to watch during the process and in fact, he and I spent many a session watching TV together taking turns sharing movies we liked! Did I mention Dan's impeccable credentials for running a HBOT practice, for attention to detail is vital when it comes to managing high pressure oxygen systems? Yes, Dan was trained under a Navy legend, the famous Master Chief Billy Sunday (played by Robert De Niro in the movie Men of Honor (https://g.co/kgs/6PpaZve). As I will need another surgery soon, I'll certainly be returning to Optimal Hyperbarics as a growing body of evidence points to the benefits of HBOT therapy versus vascular dysfunction, age-related brain microvascular degeneration, etc. (Integrative Role of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy on Healthspan, Age-Related Vascular Cognitive Impairment, and Dementia (Balasubramanian, P., et al., 2021). Doctor Anderson truly changed my life on a grand scale of life, shaped me to be better at being a diabetic and he made me carr more about myself. This man's eyes for the details ..yes I mean the smalls is AMAZING!! He truly cares about everything and wants to know everything so he can treat you. When he talks you want to listen to every little word, he inspires you, he puts strength in your wounds/soul and makes you better. I came here damaged but not anymore. I came in for a debridement in my heel but it later turned into skin wounds on my legs. Which at the time I thought was a simple thing, that would fix itself and even my homecare nurse at the time said it wasn't serious but Dr. Anderson noticed it was actually serious. He fixed up fast over a couple of months (in a long detailed process), he gave me some inspirational words each week we met, told me to the importance of having my sugar blood sugar low and; under control, reminded me to keep off my leg and he treated my wounds. He also went beyond that with getting a much better home nurse, the right supplies, a wound vac and now I'm doing skin grafts. Seriously I feel like royalty but this is just normal care I'm sure. I feel like a project but like a awesome new tech (million dollar man) project. I can't tell you guys how much faith I lost before coming to him, weeks of crying, being depress and not thinking I'd ever get better but now I look forward to just living again. I spender months in a hospital bed but now I look forward to defeating diabetes and I look forward to my fresh new legs.  I have been battling through so many doctors, surgeons and a different wound center/team that was horrible "tri-city wound center" (seriously they were ready to cut off my leg, throw me away and they didn't know how to treat me. Save yourself and don't even go to them).  Side note: If you training to go into this career. This man is who you NEED to follow and learn from. He is a amazing leader, a great medical mind, his eye for the details is so FOCUSED, he is like a hawk or sniper, it's the fact he cares about every little thing and; the fact he does it so fast/well is just unreal and he is just a overall great individual. I could go on and on about why Dr. Anderson is so GREAT!!  It's rare to come across a doctor that's really cares you the patient. He treats you like family. He wants to see you truly be better and be healed. I don't cry anymore, I don't feel sad anymore and I have true hope now. I love this doctor and everyone there. I don't know if there's doctor's there but I recommend asking for him only. You'd be foolish to go somewhere else.

I decided to reach out and see if they could help with the pain and hopefully get me feeling better sooner. Going into my first appointment, I had zero expectations. I was honestly just hoping for some relief and to be able to move around without feeling like I was 90 years old . But wow, they really exceeded my expectations. Everyone was so welcoming from the moment I walked in. Dr. Jordan and Team SP took the time to listen to what happened, figure out where I was hurting, and really assess my injury. I never felt rushed or like they were just trying to get me in and out. What surprised me the most was how much better I felt after each session. I could actually feel the difference after every visit, and it gave me a lot of hope that I was finally on the right track to recovering. Because of the treatment plan they gave me, I was able to swing a golf club again and move around much more comfortably! I really appreciate how much care and attention they put into their clients. You can tell they genuinely want to help you feel better and take the time to make sure you understand what's going on. I'm really glad I decided to come here. As a 47-year-old perimenopausal woman dealing with metabolic health issues, I came to strength…read moretraining from a very different perspective than someone who already enjoys the gym or athletics. I had never strength trained before and was honestly intimidated by the entire experience. I worried about getting injured, looking foolish because I didn't know what I was doing, and whether the effort would actually produce meaningful results. I started training with Christian in late April, and I have been genuinely surprised by the progress I've made. Physically, I've dropped a clothing size in both pants and tops, and my DEXA scans show that I've increased lean mass and bone density while losing weight in a calorie deficit, which is especially meaningful to me at this stage of life. Beyond the visible changes, I've also seen improvements in several health markers, which was one of my primary goals going into this process. For me, strength training wasn't about athletic performance--it was about improving my long-term health. One of the biggest reasons I've been successful is the coaching itself. I have low blood pressure and can become lightheaded during heavier lifts, and I also need careful attention to form and knee positioning to avoid injury while still being challenged appropriately. I don't think I would push myself safely or effectively on my own. Christian does an excellent job of finding that balance between encouragement, proper technique, and progressive overload. One of the strongest endorsements I can give is that he has developed a program tailored specifically to my goals, my health concerns, and my abilities. Over time, that has built a level of trust that allows me to focus on the work itself, knowing that each session is designed to move me safely and effectively forward. He is also genuinely passionate about what he does. Every session includes explanations about physiology, training, and conditioning, which I particularly appreciate because I came into this with almost no strength training knowledge. If you're someone who feels intimidated by the gym, is dealing with health concerns, or simply wants knowledgeable coaching that meets you where you are, I highly recommend working with Christian.
