I worried about getting injured, looking foolish because I didn't know what I was doing, and whether the effort would actually produce meaningful results. I started training with Christian in late April, and I have been genuinely surprised by the progress I've made. Physically, I've dropped a clothing size in both pants and tops, and my DEXA scans show that I've increased lean mass and bone density while losing weight in a calorie deficit, which is especially meaningful to me at this stage of life. Beyond the visible changes, I've also seen improvements in several health markers, which was one of my primary goals going into this process. For me, strength training wasn't about athletic performance--it was about improving my long-term health. One of the biggest reasons I've been successful is the coaching itself. I have low blood pressure and can become lightheaded during heavier lifts, and I also need careful attention to form and knee positioning to avoid injury while still being challenged appropriately. He fixed up fast over a couple of months (in a long detailed process), he gave me some inspirational words each week we met, told me to the importance of having my sugar blood sugar low and; under control, reminded me to keep off my leg and he treated my wounds. Dr. Haas is well intentioned but practices fringe therapies that have no backing from mainstream…read moremedicine or basis in peer reviewed science, something marketing labels as "functional medicine" but is really just expensive out of pocket poorly proven procedures. This wouldn't be so bad if she was just taking money from patients and prescribing them placebos, but many of the things she does not only have the potential of not helping, but also causing harm. Perhaps worst of all is that she simply doesn't seem to understand the scientific reasoning behind a lot of the therapies she prescribes, only their marketing. I took my mom to Dr. Haas for an ozone injection into her shoulder for an injury, soon after which my mother developed Parkinson's. When I researched ozone, I found about half of sources suggested it was a neurotoxin and not neuroprotective, but the doctor wasn't aware of any of this. I feel a lot of regret that trusting Dr. Haas with my mother's care may have been what lead to Dr. Haas causing her Parkinson's. Similarly, she recommended "exosomes" to my mother, an unproven theoretical stem cell derivative, and my mom ended up developing breast cancer. Exosomes have been linked to the spread of cancer and are a completely unproven alternative therapy that it is currently illegal to administer. Probably the last straw was when she started sending out anti-vaxxer e-mails and trying to treat COVID with some other nonsense alternative therapies (light therapy. I will alwys regret bringing my mother to this doctor as I believe it stared the sequence of events that led to her disability and early death. Dr. Haas is a well intentioned but extremely dangerous doctor and should be avoided at all costs. The first principle of medicine is to do no harm. Always very helpful and cheerful. The WORST: the food is terrible. Your workaround is to bring your own healthy, protein-based snacks. Every meal was cold if not barely tepid. With the exception of one meal out of 15 meals/snacks. Most meals and snacks were not healthy choices. Chicken/pork hot dog with veggie snack chips. Chicken lasagna was downright cold and had a strange overpowering lemony flavor. Snacks could be canned mandarin orange slices or merengues and a cheesecake cube. I had to ask for protein sources in lieu of the served meal. Every time. I'd ask for a simple scrambled egg, it would arrive overcooked and tepid. Otherwise times, substituting wasn't an option being told the kitchen was closed. Recommend ordering delivery. Something that can't be changed and is a con: the street noise at night can be VERY loud. However, Bella is one of the few recovery centers that is a certified medical recovery center. That's a huge selling point for me. I'd stay again and just plan on ordering food delivery.

After that, I waited an additional 35 minutes for the doctor. After more than 80 minutes of waiting, I still had not been seen by a physician. Unfortunately, I had to leave because I needed to get to work. As a result, I never received the medical care I came for despite taking time out of my day and traveling to the clinic. No patient's time should be treated this way. If a clinic is running significantly behind schedule, patients deserve to be informed and given the option to reschedule. Instead, I was left waiting with no regard for my time or responsibilities. I left without being examined, without receiving treatment, and extremely disappointed. This level of service is unacceptable for a medical practice. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.
