There is no better place to live than at the Casitas at Morningstar. I moved to Las Cruces last…read moreAugust for Border Patrol. I was looking for somewhere to live that is safe (casitas is gated 24hrs, unlike other apartments/condos). After looking at MANY different places to rent over one weekend I decided right away that we were going to live here because it was the nicest place for the price. You get enough space, amazing sunset or mountain views, beautiful well maintained property and luxurious amenities. It's like living at a resort! We loved renting there so much that we are now in the process of buying a unit. You will simply not get anything else like this in Las Cruces. There are a mix of people who live at the Casitas including : Law enforcement, students, retirement, young and middle aged professionals and families. The Casitas hosts different events such as poker nights, holiday parties and pot lucks so that you can get to know your neighbors better. To who ever wrote a negative comment- I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. She may have had a bad experience but I assure you that it's not like that at the Casitas. I have made friends around the condos and everyone seems to love living their. If you live under someone, you should expect occasional thumping and that just comes with condo living.. Erika is probably one of the most sincere people that I have met in Las Cruces and if you meet her you will know what I am talking about. She is in no way dishonest or shady. I wouldn't let one comment from the thousands of people who have rented affect the way you think about this place. I have high expectations and those were met living here. Sincerely, Renter, future owner!

HOA staff person was rude. Couldn't get new overly restrictive parking rules through the HOA…read moreapproval process so she made up her own rules. When I requested written rules, she said "I'm telling you the rules ". Also charged my security deposit for routine maintenance (like changing the smoke detector batteries that were not beeping) and cleaning when the apartment was clean. They require you to provide a receipt for cleaning carpets in the lease so I can't object to that but other than that, my regular cleaning person cleaned it and she is a world class cleaning person. I lived there for a couple of years in corporate and non corporate units and it wasn't until recently that it started to deteriorate

We have to move out of state soon, and if I could take Copperstone with us and move it to where we are going I would do that in a heartbeat. If you are thinking about moving here I would definitely do it. I honestly don't think I could come up with anything negative to say about Copperstone apartments.

So I'm to keep it real as far as Copperstone apartments. So me and my sister have lived here going…read moreon 2 years now. She works at the high school and I go to school. The apartments fantastic. The facilities beautiful. It feels generally safe besides my sister's vehicle being broken into last year. The reason I give two stars is the office is pretty fake to the point it's creepy. They act all kind and considerate then they turn around and give you a notice for something random, specifically the pool. This place has a very large very well kept outdoor pool but they're really weird about it. A couple months ago I had my hometown friends over to swim and relax with some steaks on the grill and the next day the office gave us a notice of "too many guests" they say no more then 2 guests which is a little strict but understandable but the thing is I had only two guests??? Why am I getting a notice for a rule I didn't break?? And I was never talked to or confronted about this just found the envelope at my doorstep. We weren't being obnoxious or breaking any rules whatsoever and for whatever reason someone was leering at distance like a weirdo and decided to write out a notice. Really bored behavior if you ask me. Fast forward to now right before I went to work today my sister decided to have my two other siblings their spouses and their TODDLERS yes toddlers over to swim at the pool. I'm sure my sister recognized the stringent "No more than 2 guests" rule but decided because there were 4 adult guests not including toddlers in an otherwise empty pool it'd deserve some clemency but no we received a notice that we must appear to the office to be reprimanded. I wasn't there but I was told to appear. They also deactivated our facilities card. So for that blown out of proportion escapade they have pulled we will be vacating the place for good. I give Copperstone 2 stars because I don't want this dramatic event to negate the fact that it is an otherwise good living space but the office are obviously all high strung drama queens that stalk the pool for literal toddlers exceeding the guest limit like are you serious??? Granted rules are rules but they're really weird about the pool and security will pester you every 3 minutes while you're trying to relax so if you like to swim don't pick Copperstone

There were no assigned parking so a lot of times you would have to park super far from your home and the parking lot wasn't safe my car came out with a bunch of new dings and scratches, my husbands tires were slashed, and peoples motorcycles were reported stolen!!!!! Then kids would try and "jump" the curbs in their little cars and when police were called they didn't do a single thing! In the rental agreement it specifically stated a pest control would come twice a year to spray and no one ever came and we kept our house very clean and still had ants in the summer and roaches in the winter time!!!!! Then when it was time to move out they informed us not to get the carpets cleaned because they utilize a specific company and thinking it would cost about $40 because it was only 2 bedrooms that had carpet that's no big deal I figured I would still get the majority of my deposit back because I deep cleaned the house looking a million times better then when we moved in there! No I get a certified letter 2 months later stating we owed $8.21 they charged us $75 for the the carpet cleaning, over $100 for "general cleaning", $20 for having to change some light bulbs and they charged us $6.07 for having to send a certified letter!!!!!! Seriously I was appalled! So yes it seems like a wonderful deal but these people are crooks and don't expect to get your deposit back!
