There is no better place to live than at the Casitas at Morningstar. I moved to Las Cruces last…read moreAugust for Border Patrol. I was looking for somewhere to live that is safe (casitas is gated 24hrs, unlike other apartments/condos). After looking at MANY different places to rent over one weekend I decided right away that we were going to live here because it was the nicest place for the price. You get enough space, amazing sunset or mountain views, beautiful well maintained property and luxurious amenities. It's like living at a resort! We loved renting there so much that we are now in the process of buying a unit. You will simply not get anything else like this in Las Cruces. There are a mix of people who live at the Casitas including : Law enforcement, students, retirement, young and middle aged professionals and families. The Casitas hosts different events such as poker nights, holiday parties and pot lucks so that you can get to know your neighbors better. To who ever wrote a negative comment- I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. She may have had a bad experience but I assure you that it's not like that at the Casitas. I have made friends around the condos and everyone seems to love living their. If you live under someone, you should expect occasional thumping and that just comes with condo living.. Erika is probably one of the most sincere people that I have met in Las Cruces and if you meet her you will know what I am talking about. She is in no way dishonest or shady. I wouldn't let one comment from the thousands of people who have rented affect the way you think about this place. I have high expectations and those were met living here. Sincerely, Renter, future owner!

When I requested written rules, she said "I'm telling you the rules ". Also charged my security deposit for routine maintenance (like changing the smoke detector batteries that were not beeping) and cleaning when the apartment was clean. They require you to provide a receipt for cleaning carpets in the lease so I can't object to that but other than that, my regular cleaning person cleaned it and she is a world class cleaning person. I lived there for a couple of years in corporate and non corporate units and it wasn't until recently that it started to deteriorate

He stopped three cars away. I went up to him and I asked him. Can you please help me find this building number and he said I don't know the numbers I only patrol here.?! First of all that's a lie because if you have an emergency in that building, you have to get there second of all he blocked my car on the second time of me trying to go around yelled at his window. You need to calm down and slow down, I told him you need to do your job well So in summary the security guard at this place is a very negative person and I also called the apartments to let them know they did not take down the message the whole next day. They did not answer their phone when I did call. They knew nothing about it I would not move here. I don't even wanna deliver here. The security guard was the worst man that I've encountered in a long time, there was also somebody dumpster diving that he didn't catch or worry about because you're worried about a girl delivering. He almost hit my car to block me off from continuing my route like what kind of job is that? Not helping me find a building. What a piece of work.! When I called the management was no help. They didn't like I said take down the message or care that this person is supposed to be patrolling these nice apartments don't move here. I apologize this is way too long and I can't edit because this man upset me for three days. I exited the apartments called my customer. They said they would walk down to the apartment lot to find me so I pulled back in. Security followed me and went up to my customer to speak to them. Talk about a really bad Security job. He didn't help me in anyway he acted like I was the enemy when I flagged him down. You only do that in distress.! so if you want to patrol officer who isn't on your side move here and if you want management, they won't answer their phone for days move here if you want management that won't take down your messages like they matter move here When I called to talk to the manager, she wanted to know about me not her problems

I personally did not have any security issues but I know some of my peers did, the property does seem to be in the process of enhancing their security and they do have security who walks around at night! Although the gate to let cars in seems to be broken often and when it is working the key code they give you to let guests in works maybe 50% of the time. It is definitely a bit of a party spot at the pool, and some of the apartment buildings get LOUD. I know the property is looking to fix some of that. I will say I lived in a building away from the noise and it quiet in my apartment besides general apartment noises, I kept my windows open most of the time without issue. When I moved in to my apartment there was normal wear and tear on the unit with something's left unfixed that when I brought it to the attention of the apartment they said it will remain unfixed because that's just how it is. Cosmetic things mainly, damage to a wall in the closet, part of the counter edge broken in the kitchen, but in other apartments I believe it would have been fixed before move in if not after when brought to the attention of staff as I did! So while maintenance is quick to respond and repair any issues you have the general upkeep is slightly lower than I expected. My main issue with the complex is they seem to treat it almost like student housing, with one move in day for the busier months and frequent apartment checks without wiggle room to set up a time that works best for you, and staff not available for scheduled move out walk throughs. Since it is not student housing this can be very frustrating. Overall I really did enjoy my time at the flats and my dogs and I will miss it! I think it is a good option for students in the area looking for a convenient place to live.

During the summer months the pool is overrun with non-residents, primarily juveniles and most are consuming alcohol. The word is out that the pool at CASAS DE SOLEDAD IS EASY TO ACCESS. On a holiday weekend it is not uncommon to see large groups partying and monopolizing the pool area. For families who reside here with children this can be intimidating. The staff responsible for maintaining the integrity and safety of the pool area are overrun and understaffed, they need help. They regularly evict non-residents from the pool area but they are not here 24/7. A private security firm or off duty law enforcement officers should be brought in to maintain the security and safety of the pool for ALL RESIDENTS to enjoy. With the rampant underage drinking occurring on the premises civil and criminal liability issues are going to occur.

I was trying hard to find a place for my daughter and I so we wouldn't have to stay at a hotel. I filled out an application. Had a hard time getting someone to answer the phone. I was really needing a place to live. I left voicemails and emails and they never got back to me. It seems like they just like getting people's money from the application fees because they don't actually try to help you move in. I rented a 2 bedroom Corporate Apartment from High Range Village for eleven months. 1) NO AC. They have a swamp cooler. it doesn't cool the unit at all . 2) Corporate Furnishing ($1,950 a month) was old, cheap and uncomfortable. Every piece of furniture was from Big Lots, Kmart and/or Hobby Lobby, years ago! And the mattresses were old lumpy and "badly stained" with who knows what! 3) the counter tops were broken and patched up with bathroom caulking. 4) toward the end of my stay I asked for a refrigerator with an ICE MAKER that actually worked. They brought up a used refrigerator - and several days later sent me a notice that my rent was increasing by $150.00 a month. 5) and the WORST for last. The Apartment Director. Truly the Worst. She truly doesn't offer any type of services for corporate tenants what so ever, The fact that High Range Villages even claims to offer Corporate Apartments is a joke (and the joke is on the tenant), Corporate Aptmts. are all on the 2nd floor and the stairs leading to the apartment are old rickety steps that are unsafe and need to be replaced. If building inspectors came to inspect that stairs I am certain that they'd be identified as a safety hazard. I could go on - but by now you should have the general idea of what to expect.......
