Where to start! James was so commuincative, putting together the menu was effortless, and so many choices. He made the whole process stress free, and when planning an event, that goes a long way. Gus and Celeste (i think it was Celeste, I am so sorry if I got it wrong!) - our chefs - were INCREDIBLE! They had such good energy, so professional, and the food was DELICIOUS! We were all stunned by how amazing it tasted. Omg the creme brulee was on another level of WOW. I will be recommending them to anyone looking for a chef. So grateful I found them! read more

From start to finish, working with this private chef company was an absolute dream. Their communication was clear, responsive, and incredibly organized--every question was answered with care, every detail confirmed, and nothing ever felt overlooked. The service was truly exceptional. All four meals were prepped ahead, yet thoughtfully cooked and beautifully served on site using only the freshest ingredients. The flavors, presentation, and quality were simply outstanding--each dinner went well beyond incredible, and every meal was beyond our expectations. Our Thanksgiving feast was the crown jewel--an unbelievably delicious spread that exceeded anything we could have imagined. We are so grateful for the level of excellence they brought to our family gathering. A special thank you to Chef Alexis, who prepared 3 of the 4 meals--your passion, talent, and attention to detail made each dish unforgettable. We highly recommend this company without hesitation, and we will absolutely use them again. If you're looking for incredible food, impeccable service, and effortless planning--this is it. Five stars, hands down. read more

Desert Dine catering service cannot be topped, in my opinion. If you are looking for a professional group with incredibly prepared menus... this is the answer to your prayers. Held a private party at the house with 60 guests. The appetizers were pleasing to the eye --as well as the stomach. The entrées were varied and delicious. Many of my guests were hoping to go home with a little "sampler" Tupperware so they could have the same culinary experience tomorrow! read more

I could write a book about my experience with this team. I was lucky enough to find them for my wedding right when I was running out of options in the desert. During our initial discovery call James was extremely transparent, super funny, and we just really hit it off. And those we're all qualities that I really needed in all of my wedding vendors. Their quote was by far one of the most competitive in the desert. Take it from me I literally spoke to everyone available and they blew everyone out of the water. So if pricing is important to you I would definitely start here. For our tasting they we're super accommodating and drove out to us ALL the way in LA for a private experience where we could meet them, taste the food, and truly bond. My (now) husband and I we're blown away not only by the food but by them making the trip out to us. The food: guys...it was perfect. High-end, made with quality ingredients, and beautifully presented. I received SO many compliments about the food, the portions, the quality, and the speed of service. When you think of wedding food you usually have to compromise somewhere but they OVER delivered. (For context, this was a crowd of close to 90.) I didnt know this until after the fact but they went as far as making a gluten-free dessert option for my maid of honor. An item that wasnt on the menu, but it just goes to show how much they care about the little details. The service: From start to finish James was a partner not just a vendor. He was super helpful, even when I needed to bounce ideas of him he was there. The staff he hired for the event we're all so amazing, and helpful. Literally 10/10 service. They made everything SO easy, no stress, I didnt even have to think about them once everything got locked in. Overall I think there are a lot of factors to consider when booking your wedding vendors and I feel so incredibly lucky to have found Desert Dine for mine. Thank you all for making this such an incredible experience from start to finish. PS: I will update with photos once I have them! read more

Everything was perfect! From phone calls to the actual dinner. Chef Alexis and Bridgette were just amazing for our event in the desert. Dinner for 16. Will definitely use again! read more

OMG! Could not say enough amazing things!! Setting up the contract, menu, and payment was a breeze. They were very communicative and provided reminders for payments and arrival time. Food was delicious and plenty enough to feed a large group of rowdy and hungover ladies! The chefs were wonderful, kind, and attentive. After making sure we were all plated up they refilled our drinks and gave us some time alone to chat and eat. When they returned they took all our dishes and washed them and got us set up for a wonderful dessert. They even took some group photos of us and recommended some local areas to check out. Service, food, and overall company was excellent and I would highly recommend. read more

We LOVED having James at Desert Dine cater our event! It was the last night of my bachelorette party and he came to our AirBnB and catered with the Mediterranean meal. Everything was delicious. So much food and so tasty! We felt the price was amazing for all the food we got. He also left the leftovers in the fridge for us. When he left, the kitchen was cleaner than we he got here. Highly recommend Desert Dine to cater your event!! read more

James, Freedom and the rest of the Desert Dine team were AMAZING!!! They catered my wedding in the Palm Springs area and everything turned out so perfect. James was super accommodating during the entire process. The food was amazing, we went with the taco buffet bar and as a latina, having good authentic Mexican food at my wedding was super important and they definitely delivered!! So many of our guests, including my father who has been a chef for over 30 years, couldn't stop raving about the food. James was super nice and really wanted to make sure that everything went smoothly. I sent him inspo pics of how I wanted the buffet setup to look like and he exceeded my expectations!! I would recommend Desert Dine to anyone planning an event, wedding, or even a private dinner! I will definitely be working with the team again in the future. read more

This was my second year using James and his team at Desert Dine. They set up an amazing display of food that was fantastic for your palate and taste buds. We had an array of Asian themes to chicken Caesar to salmon, Filet Minon to waffles to breakfast burritos. They did not disappoint this year either! Food was prepared hot, fresh, served timely, and the team was amazingly attentive to our needs. I can only give them a gold star recommendation if you're ever looking for a personal chef in the Palm Desert. Palm Springs Rancho Mirage area. You need to reach out to Desert Dine. I will be using them again for my third year retreat :) read more

James came to our Airbnb and cooked us dinner for 10 of us and it was amazing! We were in Palm Springs for a bachelorette party and after a long spa day, having a private chef cook us dinner was exactly what we needed. He made us Mediterranean fare and it was absolutely delicious. The meal was delicious and had multiple sides and dips. Also the dessert was phenomenal. He served us and kept our drinks filled. He also cleaned up after himself and washed all the dishes. I would 100% work with James again in the future. read more

Seriously SUCH A GOOD TIME! We couldn't recommend Chef James and the desert dine team enough. The food was unbelievable and so much fun to have a girls dinner in at our Airbnb. I felt bad because I was the only one who had a gluten and dairy allergy and I wanted to cry every time another course came out, it was the best meal. Chef James specialized my meals and made my feel 100% apart of dinner and it was Italian food so not the easiest thing to do! Hire Desert Dine for your next event, it will be your favorite night! read more

Such a bad experience, first with getting our quote squared away and then the office staff unable to help me then James. The great Google profile fooled us should have come here first to get more real reviews. Dry breadsticks, hunks of cheese and sorry grocery store croissants along with bland food. We got let down in this one for sure. read more

If I could give 100 stars. Been in the event world as a planner for about 10 years and if I could sum up the pinnacle of hospitality, this company is at the top. Let's start from the beginning. Amazing customer service, quick to answer any questions. Created a custom menu for a phenomenal price. Event day: Shows up early. (BIG win for me in the planner world) SAVES MY ASS when my wedding cake fell apart in the car. The OWNER of this catering company shows up ( she's incredible btw) and completely fixes the cake. It toppled over in the car on transit from Orange County, she made frosting to match, completely reshaped the cake and covered it in flowers. I didn't even tell the bride and groom, they had no idea about the cake save. Best appetizers I have ever had ( we had chicken and waffle bites, ceviche shooters, fig/cheese bites, home made artisan pizzas. Live action stations that the guests are STILL TALKING ABOUT. Mediterranean spread, street taco spread, sides and more. Serving staff was absolutely wonderful and kind as well. THEN THE ICING ON THE END OF THE NIGHT...They left the kitchen/work area cleaner than they found it. Like so clean I could lick the counters. I'm already going through my calendar for the year of when I can book them again. If you have made it this far through this review, book them now. Like right now. James and the Desert Dine Team, you have made a planner/client friend for life. I will see you soon read more

If I could give more stars, I would. From my first inquiry four months before the 50th Birthday party I was planning, all the way to when the Desert Dine team left the kitchen spotless at the end of the night, my entire experience with James & Desert Dine could not have been better. When I first contacted James, I had already been in touch with a few other catering companies, so I could tell James was different. I did not deal with the chef right from the start at any of the others, as I did with James. Not only was James more engaged and interested in what type of event I wanted to have, he was also very thoughtful in his suggestions both for food options, but also for other types vendors for the party as well, specifically bartending options and live music entertainment sources, when he didn't have to be. And James was incredibly responsive and quickly available whenever I had a question or possible change throughout the party planning process, including multiple times the day of the party. And then finally - the food. The food was excellent. Every single item James and his team served our 35 guests was amazing. Simple, fresh, flavorful, and flawless. The team did an excellent job of pacing what food to serve when, making sure everyone had just enough food at all times, but also making sure not to be too in the way. I can't recommend Desert Dine enough! read more

Seriously the best!! They catered my 150 count wedding this weekend and my guests were blown away on how good the menu selection was. The meat was so tender it was like butter. Everything came out hot and beautifully presented which was very important to us. I also appreciated how hard his staff worked on taking care of my guest. I would definitely recommend Desert Dine for any event or wedding. It was delicious! Thank you James! read more

Chef James and his Desert Dine staff are incredible. The presentation and quality of the food is beyond impressive... it's obvious they use only the highest quality ingredients, prepared by very seasoned chefs and an experienced culinary staff. Chef James worked with us and our budget to create unique menus for our rehearsal dinner and wedding day. I think every guest commented on the food, and/or requested their number! The entire experience with Desert Dine was beyond measurable. We had Desert Dine prepare dinner and brunch for my daughters bachelorette party. The staff assigned was very friendly and professional and interacted with everyone. The food prepared was spectacular for both meals. Over my expectations! They were understanding and more than accommodating for the many dietary restrictions we had in our group and even had some delightful surprises up their sleeves. The cost for the service and quality you get is well worth it. To say that I highly recommend Desert Dine is an understatement. Thanks Desert Dine for a truly spectacular experience! read more

James did such an amazing job! He was punctual, super efficient and easy to get in touch with, but the most important thing is that food was PHENOMENAL. We got the Mediterranean option and it was the best food we had during our bachelorette trip. James and his team also went above and beyond to clean the kitchen and dishes. He was so kind and attentive, we did not lift a finger! Thank you! read more

Wonderful experience! Highly recommend! We went with the steak option. Everything was cooked very well and tasted great!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would- James and his business partner were AMAZING!! We had our corporate retreat in Palm Springs recently, and we initially booked DD to cater our welcome dinner. In my first few interactions with James, I was so impressed that I stopped looking for other caterers and booked him again for our second meal. I'm so happy we did. The food was incredible, James was extremely professional and generous with his time (he did numerous favors for us including picking up furniture rentals we had and donating our extra food at the end of the week to the local community). I cannot speak highly enough about him. If I'm ever managing an event in Palm Springs again, I would without a doubt use Desert Dine. Thank you again James!! read more

OMG! James and the "Desert" group are AWESOME! Their food was fresh and fabulous! Many, many sounds of delighted moans swept the room with each new bite of deliciousness. Not only is their food delicious but they are delish as well! The are super nice, super accommodating and a very thoughtful staff. Honestly, just looking for any excuse of an event to have them cater for us again. Job well done!! :) read more

I booked a private breakfast with Desert Dine for my sister's bachelorette. I am giving them 3 stars because there was a balance of negatives and positives. At first, I was in contact with James. I asked for a quote and he was very helpful at first. We talked on the phone and he said he would get me a quote the next day. 2 days passed and I had not heard anything, so I reached out to him again. He took a while to respond and told me he would get it to me by the end of the day. Again, he did not get back to me so I reached out again. He told me he would get back to me at the end of the day. A week passes and I hear nothing, so I reach out again. This pattern continues on over the course of about three weeks. At this point I am frustrated after not hearing anything back about a quote. Eventually, Freedom takes over and I am no longer in contact with James. She is quick to get me a quote and I go through with the booking. They even offered to create personalized notes for each of our guests to give to the bride. I thought this was a very nice touch. Everything seemed like it would be perfect and I was very excited to surprise my sister with this. I wanted the breakfast to be at 10 am since we had other plans throughout the day. Freedom told me she would show up to the house at 9 am to start the preparations for the breakfast. She made sure we had all of the necessary things for the breakfast, and if we did not she offered to buy the items for us, which was very impressive. The morning of, Freedom showed up an hour late-- at 10 am instead of 9 am. She did do a lot of preparation off site, but we still had to wait a while when she got there and did not end up eating until about 11 am. Since she arrived late, we felt as though we were not given the proper service. She seemed to be stressed out and in a rush. We had a waffle bar, omelettes, potatoes, and bacon & sausage. I personally requested not to have an omelette, but I still wanted to be served bacon, sausage, and potatoes. After I realized everyone had been done eating for about 10 mins, I noticed that I still had not been served and she was already cleaning the kitchen. I asked where my plate was, and she said she thought I didn't want an omelette. Well, no, I didn't want an omelette, but that doesn't mean I didn't want the other items... luckily there was still a plate left on the counter that had not been served. Although it was cold, it was good. I did not have an omelette, so I cannot review those, but one of our guests did mention that they were very runny and wet. I was expecting much better from Desert Dine but I think we ended up being let down over all. There was a lot of great things about them, but I think the bad outweighed the good. I think that Freedom being late did not allow her to give the greatest service and the best-tasting meal possible. I would say our experience was just average. The bride did feel special, so thank you for that Desert Dine. read more

Amazing experience! Worked with James to set up the event. I wanted to throw a brunch at the house we rented in Palm Springs for a bachelorette weekend. I told him exactly what I wanted and he promptly put together a menu and quote for us. Closer to the event he connected me with the chef Jeffrey who was prompt, professional and friendly throughout the whole experience. He even arrived with balloons that matched our decor for the weekend and of course amazing food! We did charcuterie boards, waffle bar, and made to order omelettes with the cheesecake for desert (don't skip out on this..it was amazing) The whole experience was fantastic. Given the restrictions with large groups dining right now due to covid19 this was a perfect way for us to all feel comfortable, be together and enjoy amazing food- poolside! Definitely recommend them for any type of event if you have a large group! Would definitely hire again! Thanks for making my best friends bachelorette brunch one to remember! read more
