This place has the nicest chips ever, they are always fresh and hot and there has to be something in them to make them so special. Other than that they sell the same things as all other fish and chip shops like Pukka Pies and sausagues. There are tables in the shop so you can sit down and eat although i wouldnt recomend of it becasue the place is so hectic and the queue is always massive. But trust me its definatly worth the wait. The prices here are reasonable and very competitive and the service is good but i do feel sorry for them due to the volume of customers they have to deal with. Definatly a place to check out. Remember though, they are not open in the evening, just the afternoon.

My partner and I came with my brother and his partner who are from England and they found it strange that there were 1)two types of potatoes (boiled and fried) and 2)Yorkshire pudding that looked like it had been cut from a large pan of it rather than the usual individual portions. We were given a large, bright, airy room that was just beside the elevators (804), but we weren't disturbed at all by other guests. I had a great night's sleep and didn't have to leave until quite late as the train station is only a short walk away. Also within walking distance is the mall, a number of bars/clubs and also tons of restaurants. The only very small complaint I have is that the hotel only has two elevators. I know not much can be done about this but it was quite annoying having to wait up to 8 minutes for an elevator to take us to our floor. If we were lower down I would've just walked but we were on the second from top floor. Since these elevators are so slow and always seem to be in use, I recommend you request a lower down floor.

Now granted we'd only eaten breakfast barely two hours earlier but who was I not to give the pregnant lady what she wants?! (though thinking about it, most of those in the queue looked like tourists so it may have been a case of the blind leading the blind... but anyway!) Inefficient counter queuing system aside, the service was really friendly and with our two mini fish set to take another 5mins the guy kindly offered to split a large fish between us (= cheaper, quicker and more fish each! Boom!). We had them 'open' rather than wrapped up, and the salt+vinegar is DIY so unlike the good old days you can avoid giving yourself a heart attack. Sadly I found the batter too thick in places, so ended up leaving much of this and just eating the fish. The chips were delicious though, as agreed by the envious, healthy-eating friends who soon came over to steal some. There's a proper seated restaurant attached next door but I recommend queuing at the (cheaper) classic chippy counter, then scoffing it by the river 50 yards away.
