Nice looking pub with a decent Sunday roast! We (a party of 4) stopped into The Red Lion for a late Sunday lunch after exploring Bakewell for a couple of hours. When we walked in around 14:30, there were quite a few people in there including a large party so this spot would be good for groups of all sizes! The menu looked pretty good and they had quite a few beverage options. You walk up to the bar to place your order and pay and they give you a labelled spoon to take back with you as they will bring the food to your table. The Sunday roast was reasonably priced and was enough for two people to share if you're not super hungry! My partner and I came with my brother and his partner who are from England and they found it strange that there were 1)two types of potatoes (boiled and fried) and 2)Yorkshire pudding that looked like it had been cut from a large pan of it rather than the usual individual portions. Overall, we were pleased with our experience and would go back but would likely try another restaurant in the area for food next time. read more

This is a lovely looking pub from the outside and the inside. service was ok and the menu looked good. There was just one real ale on by High Peak but it was not clear, so not in the best condition. i may try again when back in area later in the year. read more
