The prices from what I've seen were consistent throughout the park, so I'd purchase at any shop you found your size. Time after time the main reason I'd visit Dervish and Banges in Hogsmeade is simply to walk around and take in the details, rather than buy something. And yes, this is primarily a gift shop/ Harry Potter inspired store that sells all the like. But if you understand Harry Potter in the least and don't take in your surroundings, you're going to sorely miss some awesome things. There's the Monster Book of Monsters in the middle of the room, that may growl at you if you step too close. They sell the Quibbler, complete with knargle identifying glasses. There are the best brooms in market currently and quidditch supplies. The Triwizard Tournament trophy stands displayed in all its glory. In the back there is also quite a supply of wands to look through. This is purely an awesome store for the typical Harry Potter fan. Like I mentioned before, I don't need to spend a single cent in here, and as long as I've walked around and admired everything I'm happy as can be. Dervish and Banges is a shop in the Hogsmeade section of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. They sell a variety of clothing, toys and wands. I saw an adorable Book of Monsters wallet I was tempted to buy! Until I saw the price tag. :P There were also full size Book of Monsters if you feel so inclined to buy them. The recreation of the shop looks just as it did in the movie. In the end I only bought a book of postcards for $10...I was disappointed I didn't see any single postcards while at Universal. I had to buy a package of them for $10! You can then mail them next door at The Owl Post cart to get a special Hogsmeade postmark. It makes for a great momento. Anothe cute store with a little of everything. They have wands and purses and pins and flags in the back room. In the front they have clothes and other knickknacks. Outside front they have a cart for people to get items like journals and get them personalized. There's a lot of entrances to this little jigsaw store so it seems like a bunch of different ones. There's an alleyway behind it and randomly a soccer team hung out back there and cheered whenever people walked by. It was random af and awesome. We went through twice! It's just another example of the awesome random fun you can have with strangers at these theme parks! read more

Dervish and Banges is the connecting shop to Ollivander's Wand Shop. Essentially, you can choose to watch the wand ceremony in Ollivander's and the mosey into Dervish and Banges or you can line up near the Dragon Challenge to enter the store directly. For Harry Potter merchandise, Dervish and Banges has a lot of the stuff you won't find elsewhere. Just as after you ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and the store has a number of neat items, so too does Dervish and Banges have some cool stuff that you need to come to this particular shop to get. That mostly includes Quidditch stuff like Quaffle balls, Golden Snitches ($15), Bludger Bat and Ball sets, and even brooms! Best of all, Dervish and Banges is the ultimate opportunity for photo ops with wizard clothes. I'll save you the photos of me and Camellia C. totally decked out in wizard regalia but just know that you can try on different wizard robes ($99.95, but lined with fleece), scarves, ties, and even pointy witch and wizard hats. They even have a cage for the Book of Monsters and you can even take home your very own toy Book of Monsters. I saw some other things including sneakoscopes and even a faux Triwizard Cup too. The cutest shop in Hogsmeade. Good balance between something that look like it came from the movie/books and a place actually geared to sell. THERE IS HARDLY ANY ROOM TO WALK IN HERE. You have been forewarned. In the meantime, check out the wands, Book of Monsters, owls in the Owlery (look up), and patches which are sold here and NOT Filch's. If you bought postcards, you can have them stamped right outside of the main entrance / under the Owlery. -The only downside I felt was the wait for Olllivanders. The entire presentation took maybe 5 minutes but the wait was 25 mins. -The Owl Shop/Dervish&Banges shop was PACKED. Sirius Black :D -If you have the premium annual pass, you will get 20% merchandise and that includes wands! The wants are normally $34 after tax. We paid ~$25 each -Try on the robes and take photos. Everything looks like how the story goes and is so much fun. Be prepared to spend a lot of money here if you're buying the whole deal. A robe is $110, wand $37 for non-interactive, $47 for interactive, scarf $35, postcards $1, etc. Outside the store, if you purchase the postcard from the street vender cast member, they will even stamp the back of the postcard for you to say "Hogsmeade, Owl Post". That's only on Islands of Adventure, not Hogwarts - they won't do it there. read more

Wizard merchandise galore!!! Looking for a Triwizard cup? How about robes? A house scarf? They have all of that, and more! Just like the books describe, this shop in Diagon Alley isn't a super Walmart. It's close quarters, which means do not try to travel as a group in here. You can get postcards to send to your friends/family (or yourself) in here, but I would suggest bringing your own stamps. They do sell them, but they're pretty pricey. Your local Post Office should have HP stamps that you can buy. This place is done very, very well just like the rest of the Wizarding world. On a street lined with adorable stores, Dervish and Banges is the most comprehensive shop in the Wizarding World. The biggest tip I can give you: know that you can ship your purchases. I was not interested in dragging my son's new Nimbus or quaffle on our road trip, so I shipped them. It wasn't cheap, but that leads me to... Tip 2: This is the only store where you can SEE certain HP items in person - like the $200-300 replica brooms. You won't find this HP merch at Toys R Us, in boutiques or on the Warner's web site. (A savvy shopper might check Universal Orlando's web site to BUY stuff though....wink wink) Why it's the most comprehensive: - largest selection of wands (see Dave C.'s review) - all brooms, incl. the expensive Firebolt and Nimbus Two Thousand & One - all quidditch supplies - large assortment of clothes, from tourist Ts to the most expensive robes, sweaters and scarves - attached to the Owlery - where you can buy special HP stamps and have your postcards specially date stamped - good selection of various items, like the Monster Book of Monsters -certain harder to find patches and pins As others have noted, this is a tinytiny store with itty bitty aisles...but it's adorable, unique and definitely worth a peek. read more

Loved Dervish and Banges. It was fun sending postcards to family (and ourselves hehe). NOTE: BRING your own stamps (get the HP ones from your local post office) to send the postcards. They sell them, but at a major mark-up. That is probably why the postcards are only $1. But if you bring your own stamps, you can send postcards to everyone!! Though oddly enough - 2 of the 4 I sent never arrived at their destination. I can't be sure if it was their fault or the USPS though. This is a small shop that seems determined to carry a little bit of everything from the HP universe. If you only want to shop in one store, this is a good one to hit, because they have a little bit of it all - though not everything. I was also disappointed that they were totally out of Slytherin patches. Really? Most people will only ever be here once, and you're out of stock? Service was friendly and everyone seemed genuinely excited to be part of the atmosphere. Be prepared though - in keeping with the way these shops are portrayed in the books and movies, it is a small, intimate space. Read: cramped. It can get very un-fun very quickly if you go at the height of the day (11-2) when everyone else is there. read more

In the whole Harry Potter section, this is by far the est place to buy wands, and they have a host of everything else, too. While there's a street vendor between the hill from the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff, it only sells character wands (Harry's, Hermione's, Lupin's, Black's, etc.). Dervish and Banges has these and also "birthday wands". These are all different and based on the birthday of the buyer. Pretty cool! Every shop in the park is crammed -- very like an old English town shop, in fact -- but that makes for a crush and there are apparently lines frequently in and out. Fortunately we didn't suffer much of that kind of nonsense, so we enjoyed our visit enormously! read more

I skipped out on the presentation at Ollivanders and came straight to a fabulous wall of wands in Dervish & Banges. This is also the place to visit if you are looking for house-themed robes, ties, shirts, headbands, coffee mugs, etc. It's easy to blow some serious dough in this place. So much to see! So much to buy! So little money I have... I spent a crap ton of money for the amazing merchandise. I'm such a sucker for HP. This is probably the best shop in Universal for your typical Potter head. You have to look at everything, and I mean everything. The Book of Monster, the Triwizard Cup, and the whole selection of wands that goes a mile long. The shop was seriously cramped. You will get elbowed around and such but to be far, everything in the HP world is cramp. Just keeping up with the magic I guess. The one thing I learned from here is that it's best to buy your things later. We had to stuff our backpacks with the merchandise and then into lockers which is a pain. Whoops! Dervish and Banges is where you are led after you do the Ollivander interaction, or you can enter on your own. You can purchase postcards and then send them with the official Hogwarts stamp outside. This is sort of the equivalent of the Owlery where the owls nest overhead, waiting to deliver letters and packages (the owls are animatronic or stuffed). Brooms, robes, the Quibbler, books, parchment, quills, and wands are sold here. The wands come in variation so that you can purchase "original" ones pertaining to your birth month, or you can find one of several "character" wands like Severus Snape, Voldemort, Dolores Umbridge, Bellatrix Lestrange, and Sirius Black. You can see the moving Monster Book of Monsters as well that's trapped in a cage in the middle of the store. It looks very much like a bookstore (though I think I would prefer Flourish and Blotts). I didn't buy anything here, though I was seriously considering a wand, but my practical mind wouldn't allow me to have a souvenir of Harry Potter memorabilia for the future. I was hoping for more Harry Potter related mystical, magical and mischievous shenanigans. Instead, it's basically a small part connected to Honeydukes with a couple aisles of toys. My main complaint is there isn't much room in general, and if you look at one aisle, you really don't need to fight the crowds to go to the other aisle, because it's exactly the same things.
