Don't miss Borgin and Burkes!! You'll need to explore the entire Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida! This is easily hidden inside the themed area! This is one of my favorite stores at Universal Studios. It's in Knockturn Alley! If you have a interactive wand, there are a lot of activities inside Knockturn Alley! It's also one of the less populated areas within Diagon Alley too! The theming of this store is outstanding! It feels like you're a part of the Harry Potter World! Borgin and Burkes was amazing though! The store was filled with a variety of wizarding objects from the World of Harry Potter. You'll find lots of the dark objects in the store too, from Deathly Hollows to even Azkaban replicas! In the Harry Potter Books Borgin and Burkes is an antique shop located at 13B Knockturn Alley owned owned by Mr Borgin and Mr Burke. The shop had a shady reputation due to the inventory of unusual and ancient magical artifacts. It is known as the place to get "objects with unusual and powerful properties", to practice Dark Magic. Some of it's more well known customers include the Malfoy's. Tom Riddle also known as Lord Voldermort once worked as a shop assistant. One of the shops most famous items is the Opal Necklace with its label "Do not Touch! Cursed. Has claimed the lives of nineteen Muggle owners to date." Borgin and Burkes is located in Universal Studios in the section of Diagon Alley known as Knockturn Alley. You don't need to be a Slytherin to shop Borgin and Burkes. Whether Witch, Wizard, or Muggle, all are welcome to shop high end movie replicas of Death Eater masks, horcrux rings, Mirror of Erised, Tom Riddle's diary, wands, Lucius Malfoy's walking cane as well as souvenir t-shirts, pins, mugs, and keychains. As you shop be sure and check out a replica of the Vanishing Cabinet where you can hear a bird chirping. The Vanishing Cabinet is where Draco Malfoy transported Death Eaters from Borgin and Burkes into Hogwarts. If you look up you may be able to spot the troll foot umbrella holder as actually seen in the Goblet of Fire. You can also see the chest where Alastor Moody is banging to be let out. This is one of my favorite stores in the Wizarding World because it is so immersive. Knockturn Alley is very dark and it makes you feel like you have been transported to the books or the movie set. Floor to ceiling of Borgin and Burkes is filled with so many amazing things to look at. No space has been wasted. The staff really embrace the theme as well. One time I was in the store for a night time private event and I had on my Gryffindor sweater and my daughter had her Slytherin one on. The staff saw me and yelled at me to get out. LOL . Mr. Borgin and Mr. Burke would be impressed by Universal Studios Florida and the attention to detail they've shown on the little dark artefacts shop in Knockturn Alley. It's a very tiny, dim lit room filled with plenty from the Dark Arts. Have you been looking for the vanishing cabinet (I couldn't pass up a joke that obvious)? Maybe wanted posters of Dead wizards or other creepy things. This is your store. When I hit the door, I was hit by a big cool A/C blast. Yay! Speaking of cool (see what I did there). The store is filled with cool, spooky, pieces like skulls, gargoyle candlestick holders, mugs, clothes, even Lucius Malfoy's staff. You really get the feel that Harry Potter suspects Draco Malfoy has become a death eater as you stand by the spiral staircase. Over there is a young Tom Riddle hard at work. Don't forget your interactive wand, neat surprises await you. Forget critiquing the staff or talking prices. It's about the experience. Deep within the darkest part of Universal Studios...the deepest part of Diagon Alley....you'll come across Knockturn Alley. And in Knockturn Alley is Borgin and Burkes - the store made for the darkest of arts and most sinister of wizards. In this shop, the locked chest next to you may rattle as you walk by and scare the bajeebus out of you! It's a small, tight shop so you'll no doubt be weaving your way around other customers. This creepy store can be found in Knockturn Alley off of Diagon Alley. It's full of all the creepiest stuff you'd expect from the Dark Side of Harry Potter. I was sorely tempted by the wanted posters but couldn't afford them all together. I didn't see them being sold individually but I will check back next time to be sure. Borgin & Burkes is the centerpiece of Knockturn Alley. I loved it!!! Yes, they mostly sell merchandise, but take the time to really look and see what they have. They have quite a few reproduction pieces--both large and small--from the films. I think non-Potterheads don't realize Knockturn Alley exists. While the rest of Diagon was packed, only a few people were scattered around Knockturn. Those who were there were using their interactive wands, which was super cute to watch. read more

The sales personnel were dressed accordingly and the shop was decorated with all sorts of strange wizarding objects. Located in Knockturn Alley, Borgin and Burkes is modeled after the shop from the Harry Potter books (duh). So dark witches and wizards, hear ye, hear ye. But really, it's a cool little shop. Dark, because it's in Knockturn Alley, with a few more "unusual" or Dark Arts items for sale. There are skeletons, skulls, even some bugs set in resin. And of course, Death Eater memorabilia. You can get the cursed necklace that Katie wore, the Hand of Glory, and things like Death Eater masks and clothes here. The Vanishing Cabinet is in the corner (complete with strange chirping sounds coming from within), and there are a lot of cool interactive spots outside where you can wave your wand around. And, unlike every other shop in Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley, you could actually move around in this store without stepping on a kid. It's kid friendly, sure, but I guess maybe a little creepy for some kids. But that's fine with me, because I like it here! read more

It's full of Death Eater memorabilia, and be sure to check out the Vanishing Cabinet (what's that you hear? Maybe a bird?), and there's a boggart somewhere as well. Oh this was by far one of my favorite shops! What better way to escape the heat than to turn down Knockturn Alley and explore? You'll immediately be hit with a blast of A/C. Be sure to have your interactive wand ready because there are several places to use it. Some of the coolest things displayed in the windows was a mermaid skeleton and some memories trapped for future viewing. Borgins has lots of death eater memorabilia. Complete Bellatrix costumes for purchase and even a Voldemort. They have mask and lots of cute tee shirts. The last day we were there, they got in a few items that had been out of stock. One being Lucius Malfoys staff/wand and a sand time turner encased by backbones and skulls. I had to have the time turner and seriously considered the staff. Be warned that a lot of the items are very very fragile and most likely wont survive in your suitcase! Be sure to look for the boggarts in the store and admire the detail on the vanishing cabinet! read more

Knockturn Alley (cleverly hidden off a dark side shoot of Diagon Alley) is so diabolically wonderful I couldn't think of a better fit for Borgin and Burkes. This shop is small but contains items you won't find anywhere else. I purchased a lovely scarlet red t-shirt of the witch Bellatrix Lastrange. It's light and form fitting with a scooping neck in front - so it compliments my figure. I saw lots of great items for Halloween such as Gargoyle candlestick holders but I wasn't sure they'd travel home to California without getting broken by plane so I regrettably had to pass. There was a witch costume that had a sexy corset design with a long skirt - perfect if you're looking for a great Halloween party costume. There were masks and weapons so it's a great store for guys as well as women looking for unusual clothing choices. As with all the stores in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter , there is clearly attention to every detail making this and all the other stores soooo authentic. I think the only thing lacking from Knockturn Alley was a horrible stench you might expect from the real thing. You simply have to find this dark little alleyway and experience all the wand interactive experiences and this store in particular. read more
