In the Harry Potter Books Borgin and Burkes is an antique shop located at 13B Knockturn Alley owned owned by Mr Borgin and Mr Burke. The shop had a shady reputation due to the inventory of unusual and ancient magical artifacts. It is known as the place to get "objects with unusual and powerful properties", to practice Dark Magic. Some of it's more well known customers include the Malfoy's. Tom Riddle also known as Lord Voldermort once worked as a shop assistant. One of the shops most famous items is the Opal Necklace with its label "Do not Touch! Cursed. Has claimed the lives of nineteen Muggle owners to date." Borgin and Burkes is located in Universal Studios in the section of Diagon Alley known as Knockturn Alley. You don't need to be a Slytherin to shop Borgin and Burkes. Whether Witch, Wizard, or Muggle, all are welcome to shop high end movie replicas of Death Eater masks, horcrux rings, Mirror of Erised, Tom Riddle's diary, wands, Lucius Malfoy's walking cane as well as souvenir t-shirts, pins, mugs, and keychains. As you shop be sure and check out a replica of the Vanishing Cabinet where you can hear a bird chirping. The Vanishing Cabinet is where Draco Malfoy transported Death Eaters from Borgin and Burkes into Hogwarts. If you look up you may be able to spot the troll foot umbrella holder as actually seen in the Goblet of Fire. You can also see the chest where Alastor Moody is banging to be let out. This is one of my favorite stores in the Wizarding World because it is so immersive. Knockturn Alley is very dark and it makes you feel like you have been transported to the books or the movie set. Floor to ceiling of Borgin and Burkes is filled with so many amazing things to look at. No space has been wasted. The staff really embrace the theme as well. One time I was in the store for a night time private event and I had on my Gryffindor sweater and my daughter had her Slytherin one on. The staff saw me and yelled at me to get out. LOL . This is a must stop for all Slytherins.

Mr. Borgin and Mr. Burke would be impressed by Universal Studios Florida and the attention to detail they've shown on the little dark artefacts shop in Knockturn Alley. It's a very tiny, dim lit room filled with plenty from the Dark Arts. Have you been looking for the vanishing cabinet (I couldn't pass up a joke that obvious)? Maybe wanted posters of Dead wizards or other creepy things. This is your store. When I hit the door, I was hit by a big cool A/C blast. Yay! Speaking of cool (see what I did there). The store is filled with cool, spooky, pieces like skulls, gargoyle candlestick holders, mugs, clothes, even Lucius Malfoy's staff. You really get the feel that Harry Potter suspects Draco Malfoy has become a death eater as you stand by the spiral staircase. Over there is a young Tom Riddle hard at work. Don't forget your interactive wand, neat surprises await you. Forget critiquing the staff or talking prices. It's about the experience. Prices will be high and the staff can be rude if they want, you don't care. 8/19

    Souvenir T-Shirt Not Bought $35.00 (03/04/20). @UniversalOrlando #Orlando #Florida @HarryPotter

(Shopped 03/04/20 WE @ 4:45pm): If you're feeling sinister, this place was for you! On the grounds of Universal Studios Resort Orlando (Universal Studios Florida to be exact), I dragged my friend into Borgin And Burkes from the popular Harry Potter children's books and movie series specifically "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince". As a general fan of the movies (I've never read the books), this was a must for all fans to check out for some cool one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Was I put under a spell to buy gifts!? PURCHASE Bellatrix Lestrange T-Shirt ($35.00): The perfect gift for my roommate who loved this character, as soon as I saw it I instantly knew (but still snapped and sent a picture just to be sure). A slightly loose and shapeless top, this was something just to bum around in https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2E7xu7MlQ5ZyAt9704E9XA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Borgin And Burkes Black Tights ($37.00): I decided to purchase this as a gift to my travel friend who needed some "more warm" yet casual enough. With minimal design features, this was one simple piece of clothing with a touch of Knockturn Alley darkness. SERVICE Kindly greeted by several staff members, we roamed through the narrow aisles with no assistance needed until I finally arrived at the checkout counter where I was quickly helped to complete my purchase amid a quickly-growing line. We got in and out as fast as possible which I liked. PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) General parking for the massive theme park started from $25.00, but my friend and I took a Lyft ride in and skirted parking altogether. Also, I believed if you stayed at any of the resorts in the area, shutter services were available. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located in the "Wizarding World Of Harry Potter" and "Diagon Alley" (Knockturn Alley to be exact https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=fZWR--w4GIs_e8e2hKypmQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw) part of the park, you initially walked down a natural lit pathway https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=r_KgBKv7uL5aGeL2b5VU2w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw before things got downright dark with some scary window displays https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CYYPIcpotCXYgRyAUPhnGw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Once inside, it was a jam-packed small shop filled with merchandise for all evil doers. There was no natural light whatsoever while there was minimal electric lighting for a spookier effect. There were no TVs while the boisterous sounds of conversations filled the air. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=wZxFV1UJoxx9BCnhJuMq2Q&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL If you visited Universal Studios Resort Orlando (specifically the Universal Studios Florida park portion) and were a Harry Potter fan, then you definitely had to drop into Borgin And Burkes to feed your darker side especially if you favored such characters as Bellatrix Lastrange, Draco Malfoy and more, and some malevolent relics, apparel, etc.. The merchandise was touristy-priced, but what did you expect!? I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $77.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Are you a Wizard or Muggle tired of those Goody Two Shoes Wizards like Harry Potter? Are you a fan of Dark Arts Magic? Then get on your Nimbus or Firebolt Broomstick and come here immediately to see Dark Art Artifacts and merchandise you may buy. For you Muggles (a person without Magical Powers), this store will probably creep you out. It is said, Borgin and Burkes has objects which have curious and strong magical properties. But then again, it has theme park souvenirs like T-Shirts. The graphics on some of the T-Shirts are the nicest ones around which celebrate magic. So what if it is Dark Magic? Take a look at the photos taken here to see the unique magical treasures you may find here. If you look hard enough you may find the store in the dimly lit Knockturn Alley, an area of shops devoted to the Dark in London. Oh, I mean in Diagon Alley in Universal Studios.

Deep within the darkest part of Universal Studios...the deepest part of Diagon Alley....you'll come across Knockturn Alley. And in Knockturn Alley is Borgin and Burkes - the store made for the darkest of arts and most sinister of wizards. In this shop, the locked chest next to you may rattle as you walk by and scare the bajeebus out of you! It's a small, tight shop so you'll no doubt be weaving your way around other customers. But man is this shop cool! It's my favorite Harry Potter shop in all the land full of Death Eater items, Dark Art objects, dementor things, Azkaban merchandise, costumes, clothes, jewelry and collectibles. Nothing froofy or nice in this shop! As always, look at everything around you and take it all in!

Borgin & Burkes is the centerpiece of Knockturn Alley. I loved it!!! Yes, they mostly sell merchandise, but take the time to really look and see what they have. They have quite a few reproduction pieces--both large and small--from the films. I think non-Potterheads don't realize Knockturn Alley exists. While the rest of Diagon was packed, only a few people were scattered around Knockturn. Those who were there were using their interactive wands, which was super cute to watch.

I think the only thing lacking from Knockturn Alley was a horrible stench you might expect from the real thing.

When my husband and I walked through the door, Leigh made me feel completely at home. Going through breast cancer and experiencing hair loss from chemotherapy is incredibly hard--physically and emotionally. But Leigh met me with compassion, understanding, and even laughter, which was exactly what I needed. His ability to help me feel better about myself during such a vulnerable time is a true gift. I was apprehensive about the idea of wearing a wig, but as my hair began to fall out quickly, I knew I needed to explore options. Leigh expertly guided me through the process and helped me select a wig that looked just like my natural hairstyle. Not only did I walk out with something that made me feel like me again, but I also left feeling empowered with multiple options. Leigh, thank you for your genuine kindness and care. They have literally…read moreanything and everything you can possibly think of -- much more than your typical craft supply store. Most recently, I noticed they started carrying children's toys and baby clothing... just in time for Christmas. Like, what? I guess they really want to be a one stop shop for all your gifting needs. Don't get me wrong... I love it, but I have to go there with a very specific mission and a list of things I'm looking for. Otherwise, I'll just end up wandering aimlessly up and down every aisle for hours finding a million things I want but don't need. And then I'll spend another hour talking myself out of every purchase lol. The good news is if I need anything craft related, they have it. But I can never find anything on my own. I almost always have to ask for assistance to locate items I'm looking for. In my floral design days, I was here on the reg for projects and I really liked exploring their dried & preserved floral selection that has continued to expand. I've scooped up some unique florals here in the past. Their current selection of dyed bunny tails is so good. I decided to stop in this past weekend to shop their sale on all the holiday decor. Wow, it felt like half the store was dedicated to Christmas. I perused every aisle and just couldn't decide what to buy. There was a lot of stuff I liked, but the decision fatigue was real. I ended up purchasing some honeycomb paper ornaments and trees that were 50% off. They're very classy and chic and I love how they can collapse down for easy storage. But that's all I got and somehow I always come home covered in glitter.
