We thought that my mother suffered a stroke because she passed out, fell and hit her head on a granite counter top and suffered a serious brain injury. I was too distraught to drive myself to NY where she was in the ICU unit. Quite honestly, I was not even sure she was going to make it after the first time I saw her. Thankfully, my husband was beside me, exactly where he should have been at that moment. I also apologize that he showed up 1/2 late to your appointment. Fred does his best to give an appointment time, not a span of hours when he will show up. Occasionally, he may be a little late as he will not leave an appointment unless his work is completed. Great service, honesty and respect for your time is what he built his business on. Fred is also very upfront about his initial diagnostic fee of $85.00. That fee is also included in the pricing for the repair had you chosen to have your appliance repaired with him. Called many appliance repair companies reviewed on Yelp, Derry Appliance was the only one that responded. I talked with Anne who scheduled Fred to come and take a look at our stove which was taking forever to preheat. Fred came to our home, gave us an upfront price to fix it and went to work. He installed the new igniter and tested the stove three times to make sure it was heating correctly. He also noticed our new fridge and took time to explain how lowering the temp on the freezer and fridge would save money and help the fridge run more efficiently. Refrigerator stopped working, and we were in a bit of a panic. Based upon Yelp reviews, we left "help!" message at Derry Appliance Repair. We received a call-back within hour, and scheduled appointment the next day. Fred arrived, identified the problem, left and returned later in the day with the needed part. Problem solved. We chose Derry Appliance Repair because of all of good reviews I read about them and we are not disappointed. We called about my refrigerator not working and got a repairman at our house a few hours later. He was quick to diagnose the problem and explained every step of the repair. We called Fred when the refrigerator in our new home would not get cold enough. He came out the next day and diagnosed the problem (which included him defrosting the freezer!!) He replaced the part a day or two later and it's worked perfectly since then. He is professional, knowledgeable, friendly and honest, and his prices are more than fair.
