Derosier's is Freeport's oldest and family owned business. Spanning five generations, Derosier's has been feeding Freeport since 1904. Philip, the current owner, is the great-great-grandson of the store's founder, Augustus Derosier. While my family and I were out shopping, I bumped into to Derosier's Pizza. Every state I visit, I try their pizza. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is full of memorabilia of pictures of when the establishment opened and pictures of family members.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Derosier's also has a variety of ice cream flavors if you're in the mood for Ice Cream. As we walked in, we were greeted and we placed are order for pizza. I ordered a slice of pizza which was huge. The pizza was very good. It had a crunchy crust, the sauce tasted homemade and flavorful, and it wasn't too greasy. The only regret I have is not purchasing a whole pizza instead of the slice.

Omg...you guys just made my hot sub dreams come true! Visiting from NC and no one does subs like New England so we picked this place for lunch in Freeport. I got the veggie toasty and my husband for the chicken parm. The toasty was SOOOO good and loaded up properly with pickles- my fave. Husbands chicken parm was yummy and could only be improved by using an actual tomato sauce) it was just kind of canned plum tomatoes. 10/10 would return!

Love that pizza slices are available. Conveniently located on main road of Freeport ME shopping strip. Great history of establishment which is captured in articles and century old photographs. Pizza slice- a plain cheese--was very tasty; seemed to me a more Greek style pizza which I do love. The crust was between thick and thin and sauce was good. Meatball Parm was ok-no Parm at all detected and bread was like a large hot dog roll. Tastes very similar to a Subway meatball sub. I would have preferred a different bread and more sauce and real Parm. Skip the mozz cheese. Love that they have Ballentine beer! Service o.k.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Quaint sandwich shop with warm service and delicious "toasties" to match![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The girl who took our order was accommodating and friendly. My roast beef was substantial and full of flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We at outside and it was perfect![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very bad pizza. Doughy, bland, underbaked, essentially flavorless. I very much regret having eaten here.

I will say they appear to have their baked goods as well as many different food options like sandwiches but my review is strictly for the coffee. Once you enter to the right is all the different seating with a good variety of tables and chairs but also some more comfy choices like couches. Quite a large space inside and a handful of tables outside to enjoy the nice weather. You order at the counter and then they have a spot further down where they'll call out your name for both food and drinks. They had a section on the menu called the MET Artistic Lattes which was their version of specialty flavored lattes. This caught our eyes. My wife went with the Falcon Pride (chocolate & white chocolate latte) and I went with the Vanilla Bean Dream (white chocolate & vanilla). Drink wise they were both pretty good! Didn't become a new favorite coffee spot but good enough we would return if we found ourselves in the area looking for coffee again. To have a real strong opinion I would need to return and try some of the food rather than just the coffee.

Pleasant, prompt and fun to interact with. The management and staff at this location, are always so professional and well skilled. They definitely help make it a great experience. The environment hasn't really changed - cozy warm living room feel. Upholstered furniture. Still very nice. It's amazing that it doesn't feel worn out, even after all of these years. In the colder days, the fire place and fire pits are nice. Appetizers have been consistently great. The favorites: fresh bread, crab cakes, calamari and meatball Main dishes - any of the specials they offer are typically great. The most recent one I had was the crab cake and burrata risotto. Any pasta dish is usually amazing and I love ALL of their dinner salads with so many protein options you can add. The desserts - the only one that I know and love is the chocolate cake. ALWAYS consistently good! Parking - street and behind the restaurant there is a lower lot - difficult if you have accessibility needs, as it's an angled driveway. Warning - it's a one way in and one way out lot! There are signs, however, I have seen some people either not see them or ignore them. Drive slowly. Reservations - Easy peasy via the Resy App! I highly recommend reservations even on days you think it might be slow. This place is a main hub for the town and surrounding towns for a nice sit down dinner that isn't too casual.

And though we've enjoyed many of their outstanding meat cuts, a variety of local items they carry and their full liquor selections, I've come to Yelp today to sing the praises of their store made smoked salmon salad with salmon supplied from Maine's Duck Trap fisheries. This salad is first of all salmony, appropriately salty, chunky, and filled with tiny bits of red onion and celery and just enough mayo to hold it together. What a great find at this fun to shop at market. I eat it on Triscuits, corn chips, baby carrots, or to be embarrassingly honest...from my finger. I love it when I discover something previously unknown to me. And though I have been eating smoked salmon, lox/Nova since early childhood, I am so happy to have recently found this. Kinda like your grandmother's basement after a flood from 15 years ago that no one probably cleaned up. Yeah you know the smell. The short ribs were gorgeous, the reduction was perfect and the wild mushroom au gratin was heavenly. NY strip was perfectly tender, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I'm never surprised anymore when a restaurant forgets what "medium" actually is. Sadly, I'm at the point where I'm surprised when they get it right. Pleasantly, but still surprised. It took a few minutes to be seated, since no one was manning the reception station. Apparently that's waitstaff's job - when they're not doing 100 other things. This is an oversight on the restaurant's part and something I pointed out to the manager. Once we were seated though, our experience blossomed into something really wonderful. Neither my mother nor I ordered appetizers.... Since we figured that lunch would be enough (it was). They don't serve bread or crackers or anything as a gratuity - which is probably a cost-saving as well as time-saving measure. It also forces you into buying one of their "small plates" (appetizers), which looked wonderful but were also quite pricey. We also didn't order alcohol- which probably saved us between $30 and $50, since their cocktails were $15 and upwards. Same is true with their wines. Appealing but pricey. I ordered the beef short rib entree ($38) (see attached photo) with a small Caesar salad and their wild mushroom ragout. The beef was some of the best I've ever had. It was fork-tender, juicy, and flavorful in ways that are hard to describe. As for the wild mushroom ragout.... It was cheesy and delicious, but lacked any visible mushroom. I told our waitress so and I hope she passed it on to the chef. My mother ordered their Grilled salmon, served on a bed of cranberry quinoa and topped with an avocado sauce that was amazing (see photo). ($41). The food was so good that there was no hope of taking any home. We wiped out everything! (See photo) We hard coffee with our meal and with taxes and tip, the bill came to $118. Well worth it for such a fabulous meal. We'll go back, but with my father and eldest daughter in tow next time!!

We still love their smashburgers - you can get a signature one and you can build your own - they have really expanded options over the past 5 years. The chicken sandwiches are always so good. I recently discovered I loved the Jalapeño Popper Chicken sandwich. Their fries are always so great - especially if you have queso. Speaking of queso - one of the best things they have added to their appetizer menu...chips and queso- We love eating the leftover queso with our fries with our sandwiches.
