After spending $3000 there, I needed a refill on my Retin-A. But there is no doctor on site, and it took three weeks before a nurse could see me. When I got there, they told me I was out of network and it would cost me $100 to see a nurse, to refill my prescription for a med, so I could spend another $3000 there. I went there to get some help for my mouth area. I wanted it to look smoother and so the aesthetician told me that filling it with a filler would be the right thing to do. I was excited from the reviews but it is the most unprofessional place I've been to. My PA Joyce was treating my breakouts but bulldozed over any of my concerns or complaints. She talked to me as if I was a bothersome child, and finally I said I would like to feel supported by her because I didn't. She said "then go somewhere else" and simply got up and left. Dermablue has no board certified dermatologists on its staff. On its face, the website is very careful and cleverly worded with the use of the word "specialist". Those with any medical background can read between these lines. The staff will NOT inform you that you will be seen by a PA for medical complaints, and not physician, much less a diplomate of ACD. If you have any medical condition that is complicated, chronic, or otherwise serious, seek care elsewhere. read more

I have been pleased with my experiences at DermaBlue. I had a CO2 laser procedure and Botox. Had done my due diligence. Knew what to expect. Cost is reasonable, less than other places I checked. Have seen Jessica, Danielle, and Dr. Voltaire. They were competent and addressed my concerns. I plan to continue receiving services there. Have been to other sites in Asheville and Greensboro. I contacted DermaBlue to treat my melasma. They seemed knowledgeable and prescribed a tretinoid and hydroquinoine cream. Unfortunately, the cream reacted very badly with my skin and caused it to severely peel and darken my melasma spots (from post-inflammatory melasma). I was disappointed that the doctor did not recommend trying a small amount on my arm to ensure that my skin didn't react to tretinoid. Sadly, it made my skin look so bad the week I was presenting at a business conference. Even with makeup, my skin was flaking and severely pigmented. I contacted them via phone when I had the reaction on the second day of using the cream. I discontinued use immediately, but the effects of the reaction lasted about 1 month after use of the cream. I saw the doctor on my return and they prescribed just hydroquinone, which hasn't inflamed my skin (thank goodness). Months and months later, I'm finally back where I started. I liked the people here, but had several procedures done that I wasn't happy with. Two in particular have left me with large noticeable lumps and bad looking scars. They want me to pay to hAve injections done to minimize the swelling- I've done it twice and it didn't work. I contacted the owner and he never responded. Also, I thought I was working with a doctor only to find out they are a PA. Very disappointed with this experience. read more

I went in to get help with my scarring and they suggested several fillers and something that I never heard of, "stringing". I loved it! I am a patient of Blue Sky and have seen that Blue Sky and Derma Blue were connected in some way. Figured I would give it a shot since I am very happy with Blue Sky. Made appointment 2 weeks out and 30 min before appointment I get a call saying they are unable to do the appointment without an RN present. I literally live over an hour away. Took the day off work, went to the bank on the way because I planned on paying for a hair removal package only to be told that they could not do the appointment because of their failure to know that I was a "new patient" to their office. Completely unprofessional, incompetent and disrespectful to a working woman who was taking time off for this procedure. After being treated with complete disrespect and it being 100% their fault, the only thing I was offered was a chance to "rebook" my appointment.
