But he IS good! Almost always easy to get in @ Mtn Radiance. Just been in Asheville for almost a couple years, but never had a booking issue with Mtn. R. - even a few weeks before a major Holiday we seem to get in with easy scheduling. Dr. Z is fast (which we like), knows where to put the Botox and we're definitely giv'n him some stars *****! Botox/Injectables are the only things we've had from him so far, so that's all we can comment on, but we've read the reviews about hair removal and other offerings and won't hesitate when it's time for that. When you relocate from coast to (the other) coast, certain things you gotta know the location of right away (or actually, BEFORE you consider relocation :)... 1. Your favorite local watering hole, Coffee house (gotta love ODD'S on Haywood!), 2. Best and most progressive (and affordable) dentist (cosmetic & general - Dr. Bernier is the best in West Asheville & on Merrimon Ave. in North Ash too!), 3. Best Vietnamese dive (that's hard to get in at lunch on a Weds at 2:00) - ain't found it yet but we won't stop till we do ;(, and most importantly for us, rainbow flag carrying middle aged fellas...., 4. The best Botox place in town! That's Mtn. Radiance and "Dr. Z", no doubt. We are happy, very satisfied and highly recommend the place, and the man-doc and his quick-fix painless injectables. Yay!! Gotta love the quick, affordable and definitely essential Botox especially with his convenient and discreet in and out location! (If you're from West Coast, makes you wanna have a Lo-Carb Burger?) - Happy to recommend the Place & the Doc! Asheville is filled with little "West Coast-like Surprises". You just gotta look for them in all the nook and crannies, but Asheville is leaning brand-progressive and in spite of the Pandemic, we are finding our way around this little boutique, Appalachian town, with leading-edge angles, ideas, services and essentials. Was specific on wanting to be careful not to cause area between eyes to push downwards as causes bunny lines and sometimes this can occur depending on injection placement... things went even further downhill. It was apparent Jana did not like to be questioned and then decided she would not do injection. I had been super nice and even mentioned her skin looks great and asked what regiment she used. Anyway, enough qualified doctors and nurses in area, in fact, when left made a phone call and had an appt right up the road within the hour. I went here several years ago to get a tattoo removed from my hand. They used a Q switch laser once…read moreon month on me, which was not enough healing time. After a couple sessions the severe blistering and trauma branded my hand in the shape of my tattoo instead of removing it. Since I was forced to sign a contract there was nothing I could do. They claimed it would go away with more sessions which was bs. I spent two years getting the scar tissue surgically removed. I'm scared for life. DO NOT go here for tattoo removal.

They confirmed my credit amount twice and then the day of my appt that I was scheduled to come in for another treatment, they called to tell me that I didn't have a credit after all. So they pocketed my credit amount of $175. Cannot advise paying for any packages there unless you know you are going to need all of them for the original type of treatment for which you are booking. Even then, probably not your best move.

When I checked out, the receptionist specifically told me there was no charge. I've had follow-up appointments with other doctors over the years where there was no additional charge, so I had no reason to think otherwise. Later, her office contacted me saying they had forgotten to charge me. I asked what the amount was, but my card was charged before I was even told the amount. Only afterward did they text me that it was $750. That amount had never been disclosed to me or approved by me beforehand. I asked them to refund the charge until I could speak with Beth and understand what had happened. When Beth called, rather than acknowledging the obvious miscommunication, she told me it was my responsibility to ask what the treatment would cost. She also said that because we had been having a personal conversation during the appointment, she hadn't gone over the pricing. I disagree. A patient shouldn't be expected to know what a medical provider is going to charge. Pricing should be disclosed before treatment so the patient can make an informed decision. There was another issue with the treatment itself. I had specifically raised my under-eye area by text and again during the follow-up, and it was part of what we discussed addressing. Beth ultimately did not treat that area. When I raised it afterward, she said it would have required a different type of injection. That was never explained to me during the appointment. If the treatment plan had changed, I should have been told why and given the opportunity to decide how I wanted to proceed. What was most disappointing was how my attempt to resolve this was handled. Rather than trying to work through the miscommunication, Beth repeatedly characterized me as "argumentative" and ultimately told me, "I am discharging you as a patient because you are being so argumentative." I was asking for an explanation and a fair resolution regarding a $760 charge that had never been disclosed to me beforehand, as well as an explanation for why part of the treatment we had discussed wasn't performed. I cannot recommend this practice.

They did not consider the needs of my aging skin (age 76) and prescribed an aggressive hyperpigmentation treatment (I had used this prior to laser surgery 6 years ago). It did not address extreme dryness and made my skin worse. Stiff and peeling face was not what I was looking for at this time. Worse was that they upcharged all the products because I had not booked at least three treatments at their facility. If I had purchased the same products directly from Obagi, I would have paid $468, almost $100 less. I used Obagi online to purchase moisturing prooducts and found 5 appropriate products for only $149. I totally feel ripped off, Beware of their advice.

After a procedure involving my care resulted in surgery being performed on the wrong location on my head, I returned to the office wanting to understand how this happened and what could have been done to prevent it. Instead of compassion, I experienced an incredibly confrontational interaction with Jennifer. She came into the room visibly upset and defensive, argued with me, and repeatedly focused on distancing herself from any responsibility. I made it clear multiple times that the surgeon who actually performed the procedure had already taken responsibility. My concern was how the process broke down so badly that I ended up having surgery in the wrong location. Most disturbing was being told that the words I was using were "red flags" and that I was not a "safe patient" while I was trying to advocate for myself after what I had just experienced. The office manager showed virtually no empathy afterward and made an already horrible situation even more upsetting. I have never felt so dismissed or poorly treated by a medical practice. A patient dealing with the aftermath of a serious error deserves compassion, professionalism, and a willingness to listen--not hostility for asking how it happened.
