Beware - This place is a complete scam…read more I rarely leave reviews, but this was one of the most dishonest and unprofessional experiences I've ever had. I'll keep it short and highlight the biggest issues: 1. Terrible time management. Appointments mean nothing here. Expect to sit and wait while they spend hours with the person before you. 2. No price transparency. The woman who treated my kids (very kind but doesn't speak English) couldn't tell me the cost of treatment. She showed me what she claimed were lice/eggs, but there was no technology or microscope like other reputable places use just my naked eye and her word. 3. Unprofessional process. She started treatment without confirming cost, never tracked the time, and even left mid-treatment to help someone else. When you're charging by the hour, that feels like a deceptive practice. 4. Excessive charges. I received a bill two days later over $400 per child. My younger child is only 2 with barely any hair, yet they claimed her treatment took 2 hours. Completely unreasonable. 5. False promises about insurance. I was told I could submit for reimbursement. My insurance company literally laughed at the claim. Zero coverage, as expected. 6. Follow-up not included. After paying, I still had to ask for a follow-up check, which somehow wasn't part of the price. I was extremely diligent with aftercare, but honestly I don't believe these treatments were even necessary. This business takes advantage of families during a stressful, vulnerable time. Final word: Avoid at all costs. There are more professional, transparent, and honest options out there. Don't let anyone exploit you when you're trying to do the right thing for your kids.

I no longer work there as I have graduated with a masters and continued in my career of choice but have used everything I have learned over the years to help my family of 6 when lice touches our household. Recently about a month ago my daughter came home scratching so my natural reaction was to check her head and sure enough she had lice. I immediately began treating everyone in the household even though only 3 out of 6 of us had it but it's the only way to make sure it's gone for good at the end of treatment. I'm grateful for my time at Lice Doctors as I would not be confident in my abilities to fix a tedious yet very stressful situation. I even have taught my kids over the year what to look for so they can be more proactive as well. We notified family and schools as it's the right thing to do and to ensure the kids don't get reinfected after going through the lengthy process when treating at home. Once we completed our treatment cycle (12 days) and the kids were lice and nit free I wanted to get notes for family and school that they were clean as I no longer work for lice doctors to prove that were professionally cleared. Unfortunately the company I worked for charges hourly and for a family of 6 would of costed us over a thousand dollars as they do thorough full head checks which is great but again I was confident in my abilities and needed a cheaper solution. Lice clinics of america offers checks for $25.00 per head which was completely affordable. Unfortunately the experience I had was completely disgraceful. We went and they were checked for less then a minute dry in the Hartford location and was told they have nits although when asked to do a wet check with the comb to pull out these so called nits immediately was pushed towards treatment and told they can not do anymore without paying for treatment so we left a week went by I did another full check professionally at home and still clean we scheduled another appointment this time in bethel (we went based on what ever was a available as time was of the essence for the kids to get back to enjoying the rest of there summer) so again we travel far and our technician was Mai Tran. She legit pulled out dirt and scalp on my son and claimed it was nits and got nasty when I tried to educate her. Again took about a minute for a check and did no more. me trying to assure the kids who were very upset at this point continued to clean over the next week pulling out NOTHING! Everyone was completely nit and lice free! I immediately called the supervisor as this was our second time and me trying to be efficient and respectful of these other professionals gave them the Benefit of the doubt figuring maybe it's a new tech and she's still learning. But not two times in a row! The manager Stephanie was so nasty and did not care what I had to say or want to hear my concerns. She said that "we'll if you work for lice doctors why are you coming to us" LOL! what manager discourages clients from using there clinic. I tried to educate her and she said dry checks ARE APPROPRIATE! immediately I knew I was dealing with in educated professionals that are scamming ppl. Now I was on a mission to prove these people are scammers! We finally got our preferred location orange today and got the same technician Mai Tran. Who remembered the kids but must of forgot which one had nits last week bc this week the kid that had nuts was but free and the other supposedly had nits ( mind you they only need to say one person has something for everyone to be treated) I immediately told her and she shut down and was quiet! I told her to re check! She did spent about 5 mins showed nothing and said yes she has several nits! LOL! Then told me if I don't like it to take it up with the supervisor. This kids share brushes sleep together but only one has bits ohh and there's no bugs at home or at any of these checks. But an educated lice tech knows a bug can lay 7-10 eggs daily. So make this make sense. Immediately pissed I let her have it. I'm so sick of these ppl. She still tried to push treatment like they are sales ppl and do not care what they are doing to family's. I pointed out I worked for several years doing manual checks and cleans and didn't have a fancy machine and I know what I'm doing and tried to claim it's impossible to clean without the special hair dryer. I will be telling everyone and anyone about this place. Do not give them your business!
