She brings calm and compassion to what could otherwise have been difficult to navigate situations (weather scares, last minute guest changes, family dynamics), essential for an out-of-town and sometimes anxious bride. She is supremely organized, timely and responsive, taking advantage of technology and her own flexibility to ensure communication is as convenient as possible. She is also an outstanding creative, designing layout, logistics and decor solutions to fit and exceed whatever initial vision you might have had. We very much enjoyed our days spent with her in planning our wedding and she, Brittani, and Yasmin were excellent the day of. Our wedding was as gorgeous as we could have hoped for. These ladies took excellent care of us on the day of the wedding. They kept us on schedule all while providing a calming energy. During the reception they were at the same time in the background yet, making sure we all were having a great time and my husband and I always had what we needed. I cannot say enough about Unique Weddings in New Orleans. They really know what they are doing and are an asset to the whole endeavor from planning to the day of.

The historic space is beautiful and provided excellent flow at my daughter's wedding. The food was exquisite. And I simply can't say enough about Rylan, Millie, Hana and the rest of the staff at Latrobe's. Their professionalism, their attention to detail, their care and patience - all are unmatched. We did not hire a wedding planner and now, knowing just how much work is involved in planning a wedding, I think we simply couldn't have done it without their guidance and tips, which they provided even for events beyond the wedding and their scope of work. Their vendor list is very helpful, everyone they recommended did an incredible job. The building itself is nothing short of magical. Giving our guests a real taste of New Orleans was incredibly important. If our guests did nothing else during their trip, we wanted them to feel like they had an experience unique to the city. Latrobe's definitely helped us achieve that. From the beautiful courtyard complete with burning gas lamps, to the grand banking room, to the wonderful food selection of delicious regional delicacies. Many of our guests told us that they felt they had been transported back in time. That it was the best, most unique wedding they had ever attended - and with the best food! Lastly, the team at Latrobe's is incredible - I actually miss talking to them every week! (LOL) Rylan, Hana, and Millie are the best. I am so grateful for their expertise, patience, and kindness during the entire planning process. A big thank you to Rylan especially for her guidance during our tasting and rehearsal! I know when someone has their ducks in a row. I also love a woman who isn't afraid of speaking her mind to make sure everything is perfect. That is what you will get when you hire Merideth Reed. I was referred to Merideth by my invitation stylist, Fergie Lewis of Stationery Stylist a couple of weeks before my wedding. Fergie knew about my plans for our wedding day and thankfully had the foresight to suggest that we may need a planner with all of the moving parts we had going on. I reached out to Merideth and she agreed to work with us despite the short time frame we had to get everything done. I'm not sure she slept from that day until our wedding night with how much she had to take on, but OMG she nailed it! We had an extensive seating chart that she executed perfectly. My fiancé and I met on an airplane, so we wanted a standing board of paper airplanes with each person's seating assignment on the paper airplane. Between Fergie, Merideth and Lisa of Luminous designs, the board came out better than I could have imagined. It would have been a disaster without Merideth to help me communicate and execute my ideas. She helped me order linens and napkins last minute and coordinated with all of our vendors so that I didn't need to worry about a THING! the best part of the entire night was when I saw our cute little macaroons we ordered as favors for our guests. I mentioned how cute they were to Merideth and she laughed and said "yeah I just had to go meet the manager at the warehouse (at 8pm ON MY WEDDING NIGHT, DURING THE RECEPTION) to grab them because they forgot to drop them off earlier. I was like WHAT?! Merideth hunted the manager down on social media (I never gave her the contact info for where we got our macaroons from because I had already arranged for them to be dropped off at the venue) and hounded them until they agreed to meet her at the warehouse to let her pick them up. Lol. Our guests lovedddd the macaroons, so I'm extremely thankful she had the awareness to notice they weren't delivered and took the time to hunt them down and pick them up, all while I danced the night away without knowing a thing. Overall she was very professional and I never once worried that something wouldn't be handled. I actually felt like I was talking to a very responsible good friend of mine throughout our final days of planning! In fact, I left quite a few details in her hands to decide and I was more than happy with how they turned out!! As far as budget goes, Merideth was quick to contact our vendors about all of our final payment information and even negotiated some really awesome stuff into the price we had already agreed on. She's the best. If you need a planner I would highly suggest contacting Merideth, you will not be disappointed!

    My wife and I hired Merideth Bugbee with Belle Soiree Weddings and Events to be our wedding…read moreplanner. We hired her for the full planning package. Here's some background on us, we live in Houston and we were married in New Orleans. It was very hard to contact Merideth on the phone. There were occasions where Merideth did not return our phone calls or respond to emails. When we addressed this with her, she apologized and admitted that she needed to improve her communication skills. Unfortunately, there was little improvement. After we called her and left voicemails, days would go by before she would call us back. The flower vendor we selected, only had one slot open for our wedding weekend. Merideth dragged her feet in getting the vendor's deposit info to us. She said to expect an email with the info. We had to email her twice before we got any info on the deposit. This made us worry that we were not going to get our top choice for the flower vendor. Her lack of communication will cause you to have to worry. She would often skip over questions we asked her in emails. In our discussions with Merideth, my wife brought up many things that should have been in the works at different stages of our wedding planning. But Merideth had not even started on these things. There were also tasks my wife and I completed, that our planner should have completed. In getting the Full Service planning package from Merideth, I do not believe we should have had to handle all communications for some of our vendors, but we had too. The budget Merideth created did not include many things. Merideth said most couples just pay for those things out of there pockets as they are planning the wedding. Hotel rooms for us, groom's clothing, transportation from the wedding, and postage were significant amounts of money. They were not included in our budget. We realized this after the budget had been made. So our budget did not include the total cost of our wedding. Merideth was also unorganized. We paid the wedding venue to serve passed beignets to our guests during the reception as a late night snack. Merideth was aware of this because she reviewed the contract we signed with the venue and attended the tasting when we made menu selections. The chef forgot to serve the beignets. This was the chef's mistake. However, as a wedding planner it's Merideth's job to ensure that things we've paid for, are executed correctly. Due to her disorganization and lack of attention to detail, she totally forgot about the beignets. We also planned to have our guest, light sparklers for our exit from the reception. Merideth told us we could not use the sparklers as we were exiting our reception. We were very disappointed we did not get to have the sparkler send-off. My wife was really excited about pictures of us exiting the reception and our guests with their sparklers. This was just wasted money. So her disorganization will lead to you not getting everything you have planned with your wedding. We also discovered that Merideth drafted money from our bank account without our knowledge. When we initially hired Merideth as our wedding planner we signed a credit card authorization form. This credit card authorization form was used to pay the initial down payment for her services. However, after a few months went by we noticed that Merideth had drafted a large sum of money from our bank account without our consent. My wife and I immediately contacted her to find out why. After exchanging several emails about this she realized that she had forgotten to send us a copy of the payment schedule. Because we never received a payment schedule we didn't know when we were supposed to make payments to her. Had she communicated the payment schedule up front, we would have known why large sums of money were being drafted from our bank account. Her business practices are sloppy and irresponsible. Luckily we always had enough money in the bank to avoid overdraft fees. Here are some other notes about Merideth. She was also rude to the attendant, that was assigned to us by the venue, during the wedding. She also called me, the groom, by the wrong name at our wedding rehearsal. I also brought my own liquor to the reception. When I asked Merideth where it was after the wedding, she said "One of the guys picked it up." My liquor was actually still at the venue and I picked it up 2 days after the wedding. She flat out lied about this. I urge you to do your research and read many reviews. There are others who have hired Merideth, with reviews similiar to mine. Also her prices have gone up significantly since we hired her last year. So save yourself some money. Her attention to detail is terrible and her communication skills are seriously lacking. She doesn't have the skill set to be a good wedding planner. So save yourself some trouble and skip over Belle Soiree Weddings and Events for your event.

I am from New Orleans but live in Austin, Tx. When we got engaged I put a post on facebook asking if anyone back home knew of a wedding planner they would recommend and a friend directed me to Vim& Verve. BEST DECISION EVER! I cannot rave enough about Andrea. She talked me down off the ledge when I called balling my eyes out saying that we were going to elope due to the extensive amount of drama from our friends and family. Andrea calmed me, told me to sleep on it for a night and talk with the groom the next morning. When I wanted to return my dress she advised me to try it on then send her a picture. When she saw the photo she suggested changing the accessories ( sash and veil) I hadnt even considered it... I found a bridal consingment shop brought the dress, veil and sash - discovered a whole new look to the dress that fit my personality better just by changing those things. I fell in love with the dress all over again. She made amazing recommendations for the caterer Laura Arrowood and photographer Jason Albus - they were budget friendly and out of this world great. Everytime we traveled to New Orleans Andrea made time to meet with us no matter how short of a trip it was. The day before the wedding weather forecast showed rain and probability of a tornado. Andrea was cool, calm and collected while I was very freaked. She calmed my nerves, we called around to rental companies and found that tents would be 700$ or more at last minute our budget didnt allow for that. Andrea jumped on the phone and made a trip to the Naval Base in Belle Chasse to rent tents for 20$ a day the day before the wedding - can you say above and beyond. When our officiant dropped out of the wedding she stepped up and said she could recommend a few people in town or she would do it herself. She helped us write an amazing ceremony and when we opted to write our own vows she proofread them and helped make tweaks so they were perfect. We have a lot of crazy family situations, she listened to all the drama and knew ahead of time what to look out for - family members that have come to blows and hadnt been in the same room for over 20 years came together and had an amazing time. It was MANDATORY that we find a venue who would allow our dogs to walk in our wedding party ( we have 6 and a pig) she gave us options fitting all of the things we asked for. Every text and email, no matter how tiny I sent her I received a response to without a lengthy wait. There is sooooo much more I could go on for days. She handled every member of our group with respect, care and happiness no matter how attitudey some of them could be. EVERY family member, wedding party member and guest loved Andrea. We received so many compliments on how fun, happy, friendly and great she was from all of our guests. She made planning a wedding from out of town a breeze. She helped my come up with meanings for our cake pulls and found us such great deals and vendors. Every person in and at the wedding stopped us to say this was the funnest wedding with the best food, music, drinks and ceremony they had ever been to and how much they LOVED Andrea. I cant say enough how much we love Andrea and how lucky you will be, how amazing your night will go if she takes care of you and your family on your special day. Theres nothing like it. Andrea was the best thing that happened to this couple, and I can safely say we didnt just find a wedding planner. We have gained an amazing friend. She embraced us from day one and didnt make us feel like we were a paycheck or a client, she made us family. Vim & Verve is number one in our book. Andrea found the most interesting things for us to do before the event and as the event. We planned the whole thing from our home in Los Angeles, and never had a detail to worry about. Andrea knows EVERYBODY in New Orleans, and they probably all owe her a favor or two. She always presented us with at least two options (many more to start with) once we narrowed down to the specific type of thing we wanted, and she was there with us for every part of the event, from joining the wedding party for breakfast the day of, to taking the guys shopping for appropriate "second-line" hats, to dancing in the second line WHILE she video-taped the whole thing... Alison was a great and thorough asset and really made the day go smoothly. I do not recommend waiting until the last minute like I did, but they were a great help and I 100% recommend them.
