Only thing I would suggest is to make sure you bring your own sheets and towels to be safe because I saw a stain on the linen, so I put it on the floor to avoid germs. Also, the beds are extremely hard to sleep comfy, saw hairs inside the coffee cups, and their smoke detector was broken inside the room. If I had another option, I would've been at the Holiday Inn for more comfort like I normally would, but this weekend was busy due to the stupid Formula 1 racing event here. So lesson learned, get your hotel booked at least a month in advance before a major event comes into Austin, nearly half of Austin was SOLD OUT because of Formula 1 or the budget motel prices were extremely high.

We don't like the place were at, but we like it better than sleeping in our car! They just said "we should have something" We should have known then, we were going to have comunication issues! So we got the room, and you know, it was kinda cute, it was clean, and it had a jacuzzi tub (with the shower over it, which wasn't good) I have a bad knee so getting in and out of that tub to take a shower was a hassle, you have no idea! There wash clothes are dingy white....(I'm glad I brought my own) So at this point those were my issues, besides parking. That seems to be a problem at every hotel in that area. If you don't get there by 10 p.m. good luck with finding a parking. But the night before we were going to leave, our T.V's sound went out! We watch TV all night, so that was horrible for us. We tried to get it going, and to no avail! We tried to call the office, no answer! We had to set up our tablet, with the same channel on the few that we could find that was on at the same time. Because were from Vegas, and we were in TX. So the next morning. We were trying to tell them that the sound went out. They kept telling us to go past channel 50 and the sound would come on! The TV didn't even go up to channel 50! Then we asked to speak to the manager, ohhhh the mgr. isn't here right now! They will be here later...Sure! So needless to say we didn't get to speak to a manager.

I guess she tagged me to be a "difficult customer" even when I didn't make a big deal and admitted I was at fault ... however, when I got in the room, the room was filthy. When I called her, she was not apologetic, was condescending, and not helpful at all. She quickly said she can offer a refund or we stay in the room. She could care less about the inconvenience... she didn't bother to offer to perhaps send housekeeping to maybe clean the room again since they can't offer a clean room for us... I had to call corporate who was much helpful, but in the end, we decided to book with Hyatt - and they were actually cheaper. Then, when I went downstairs to tell them we'll take the refund, I told her (and maybe the manager that was standing next to her) that I left the dog hairs I found on the night stand and that the chair they have was sticky and filthy. They just looked at me and was like "OK". Oh wow - my husband and I were laughing as we drove off... what a joke. We feel bad for the owner of this hotel. The two ladies at the front are the representatives of their business and the brand and let me tell you, those two ladies don't give a flying you-know-what if this hotel thrives. We come in this area about 8x a year since my sons loves Kalahari. We really thought this place was a good alternative when we aren't staying in the waterpark for the whole weekend like we're doing this time. But ... Total yuck. Please do yourself a favor and drive the extra few minutes to go to a much cleaner hotel. Off to Hyatt we go. It's only an extra 8 minutes down the road.

The house is comfortable for six to seven adults. Communication was stellar until check-in time. Bill and Vanessa were very good via email and text before our arrival. Bill called us at around 1 pm to welcome us and tell us that "the house is ready". Check-in was at 3 pm. We arrived at 3:20 pm and found the cleaning crew was still there. We had to wait outside until 3:45 pm in 96-degree heat until they were done. Vanessa texted, "We will get you a gift card to the beach club grill for the inconvenience". The next morning, I texted Vanessa asking for an extra parking pass. I never heard back from her or Bill. No gift card. No parking pass. A few minor concerns with the property: nasty stains on the carpeting near the entry, GFCI outlets needing to be reset more than once, only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, and a nest of red wasps living under the second-story balcony. Yes, these are minor complaints in a world rife with many bigger issues. However, we were disappointed enough to share these concerns. We would certainly return to this area and neighborhood, but not this property.

The pool table and shuffleboard are cool, but I feel what sets this place apart are the rope swing (off the roof) and the fish light that allows the party to continue IN the water long after the boats have docked. It is a bit of a trek by car, but stock up on groceries and you don't have to leave for anything. If you have a boat, even better.
