I made a appointment with No insurance cost $60 the day of appointment waited 2 hours only to take a xray of 1 tooth and facetime with Doctor because she was late and cost $133 was told need permission from cardiologist made appointment for following Saturday to get full x-rays of all teeth and cost another $92 and come back again in few weeks for a partial cleaning of another cost of $479 anyone see a scam in this or is just me? read more

May of 2016 I decided to do 6 month smiles through Dr. Shamoon. My expected day of removal was October 2016. Long story short I had the braces on for 16 months. At that time I sought a second opinion in which I was told a number of things that were wrong with the braces. I was paid in full months before the second opinion. I contacted Dr. Shamoon to make her aware of the issues and asked for a refund. She refused. Please see attached pictures. Beware of Dr Shamoon and her practices. My family started going to Dr Shamoon after getting a referral from my office manager. She's all about selling and billing you for everything and won't take responsibility when something goes wrong. My girlfriend had a crown done and a couple of months later it fell off and they charged $327 to re-cement the crown. This has happened to me and my dentist didn't charge because it wasn't set correctly but this is not the case with Dr Shamoon. My siter in-law had a tooth pulled by Dr Shamoon and then noticed her crown was broken but Dr Shamoon wouldn't take responsibility for what she did even though it was the next tooth over and she reported it right away. My office manager said her son had a similar problem recently and they have also stopped going there. My mom also had an experience when she repaired her dentures where they were trying to sell her insurance and have extra work done but my mom wanted no part of this. They did talk me into the insurance but that was my choice. The bottom line is she lost five customers because she's pushing too hard to upsell and doesn't stand behind her work. read more

When I made the appointment, I told the receptionist that I had a one year old baby and I needed an evening or Saturday appointment so I could arrange for care for him. My appointment was scheduled for April and she told me she would keep me in mind for last minute openings. Friday morning she called to tell me that Saturday at 8:30 a.m. opened up. I was overdue for my cleaning so I rearranged my schedule to make it. When I got there, the hygienist spent 15 minutes taking full mouth AND bitemap x-rays. Why both were necessary at one time, I don't know. Then she measured my gums. Because I had slight bleeding she recommended a deep cleaning not covered by insurance. When I politely declined she told me that she would not do the regular cleaning because it was not what she recommended. At this point we are an hour into the appointment and I have not yet had a cleaning. I also have no option of going elsewhere since they used all of the x-rays I am allowed for the year+. When I complained to Dr. Shamoon she told me there was never any intention of doing the cleaning today. When I explained how difficult it is to get care for my son, she told me I should bring him. He is 1 year old, crawling and pulling himself up on everything. She told me she brings her 1 year old to the office all the time. I consider that to be unprofessional. In regards to the recommendation for a deep clean, she told me that they always recommend the best treatment possible whether or not it is covered by insurance. My mother worked at an orthodontist office growing up. I take amazing care of my teeth and I am always praised for their condition. If you are going to recommend out of pocket expenses I feel that you need to justify why. This place seems like a scam. My husband cancelled his appointment and I won't be back either. Run! read more
