My dentist referred me to Dr Corcoran to have them removed, so I called and made an appointment for consultation. I was able to get in the same week, and the receptionist patiently explained all the location and time options I had. I was nervous about my consultation. I had never had any kind of surgery in my life, and I didn't know how much damage my wisdoms were in for. Dr Corcoran came in, and assuming he's met many nervous patients, he immediately calmed my nerves with a few awesome dentist jokes. He showed me the X-ray, explained everything that would be done, and I left feeling great about it. I got on board, and scheduled the real appointment for a couple weeks later. Fast forward to today; I had all four wisdom teeth removed, 1 of which was impacted, the rest simple extractions. I got the works with the laughing gas and the general anesthesia, and when I woke up an hour later, huzzah...no wisdom teeth. Surprisingly, I am in no pain despite having taken only 2 Advil right after the surgery. The numbness has gone away, and I have some swelling on the impacted side, but no pain. Huh. Dr Corcoran even called me at 9pm to see how I was doing. He noted that I sounded awfully chipper, and expressed that I should continue to take care of my wounds, even with no pain. How incredibly thoughtful of the guy to call me long after the workday is over, to make sure I wasn't dying or allergic to the antibiotics. My husband said that right after surgery I told him, "Gosh I feel great, I wish I felt this way all the time!" I think that means Dr Corcoran is doing something exactly right.

After the confrontation, we went over the billing to my insurance and the lady said this is all the doctor will do and this is what your insurance will pay. Stupid of me to believe a person is able to do their job but she explicitly left out big charges such as removal of a tooth, consultation charges and other miscellaneous charges. My interesting is that it cannot be this colossal of a mistake and she purposely did this to show me lower charge. After completing the surgery they bill me and guess what, they added major items, like removal of the tooth they were supposed to get out along other items. On top of that, i called the billing department and the lady lied to my face saying this was all billed to the insurance during the consultation and she will send me the proof. What she sent me is proving they did not send the full charges to the insurance. There's a bunch of good doctors out there and this one is not worth it just because of their incompetent billing department in the arlington office.

I was getting an extraction, one of my wisdom teeth, and he was so patient with me. I was nervous that it would hurt, and was concerned that I would need to be knocked out, or at least get the gas. He assured me that novocaine would be suitable, but he made sure to tell me that, if I felt -anything at all-, we could go the laughing gas route. He tolerated my fidgety behavior during his inspection of the area, and told me exactly which of the injections for the novocaine would pinch or hurt in any way. He didn't try to add anything - In fact, he saved me money by not pushing the gas, etc. This might be because he doesn't take insurance, but even without the insurance, the extraction was only $125, and he had such a great bedside manner that I was totally unconcerned about having to cover the cost myself. The downside is that I really don't want to ever go back to Bethesda Family Dentistry. I was totally displeased with most everything else about the practice.

I have a severe dental phobia and haven't been to the dentist in about a year and a half, so I…read morehorribly dreaded this appointment. But since the reviews were so good, I decided to give this doctor a go. Dr. Zarrinfar was very kind - I saw him in Ranson and the location was clean and tidy. His colleagues are also very nice. However, Dr. Zarrinfar determined I needed hard plaque removed from my teeth, so I allowed him to do so. This process was some of the worst pain I have ever felt at the dentist, and I can confidently say that he was not gentle with my teeth. It was certainly not a procedure he should have done without novocaine. He also let the pick/tool (ejecting with water) he was using in my mouth get so hot that it burned the skin on my lip, leaving a mark. It took about 4 minutes for it to cool down enough to be useable after how hot it had gotten. Afterward, he told me I would need to come back in 4 weeks to have more plaque removed, as well as get several cavities filled. I told him that what I had just experienced was painful, and that because of my anxiety (specifically around needles), I'd prefer if he would provide nitrous oxide for my next appointment. He told me he would not do that, and simply 'does not accommodate' patients with anxiety. He said he could refer me to a pediatric dentist if I wanted (I am a full adult). Every doctor retains their right to deny care, but I was very upset when I learned I would have to find a new dentist because of where I live being rather desolate. Overall, I could've definitely had a better experience. I am not sure of the reason why Dr. Zarrinfar refuses to provide mild sedation to patients with anxiety, but that will be the reason I don't return. However, if sedation is not something you worry about, I could recommend trying this dentist. The previous good reviews give me hope that the tool/pick error was a mechanical mistake. But not sure.

Dr. Chaudhary is a member of the United States Army Reserves and is assigned to a Combat Support Hospital Unit. She is multi-lingual Her credentials and achievements go on for pages. And she is the nicest person , she treats her staff with respect , a reflection of her character. So when she makes a recommendation, I am completely confident. I was told about Dr. Smith's "bed side" manners and made an appt. His staff, and him have always made me feel comfortable and welcome. He tells you the truth if it's something you might not want to hear, like if fillings are a temporary solution and it's probably going to need a crown in the future. It's one of the last few offices that still provide laughing gas, they also let me wear my headphones so I don't get anxiety from the drills and noises. They are a small business and do depend on people paying their bills but as long as you're making payments you're fine.
