I had my two lower wisdom teeth removed here in December 2021. My experience involved two different dentists in the office. Dr. Chen performed my extraction, while my initial consultation and follow-up were with another dentist whose name I unfortunately don't remember. The reason I'm writing this review is because the communication throughout my care was disappointing. During my consultation, I was told I needed all four wisdom teeth removed. My X-rays were never reviewed with me, and I left believing I had four wisdom teeth. After contacting Medi-Cal myself, I learned that only my two lower wisdom teeth had been submitted for authorization. When I called the office for clarification, I felt like my questions were dismissed instead of answered. On the day of surgery, I brought the discrepancy up again and learned that I only had two wisdom teeth to begin with. Spending weeks preparing for four extractions, only to find out I didn't even have upper wisdom teeth, was frustrating and completely avoidable with better communication. While the extraction itself was relatively quick, my recovery on the left side was much longer than expected. It took close to three months before I could comfortably chew on that side of my mouth again. At my two-week follow-up, I tried explaining where I was having pain, but instead of focusing on my concern, the interaction centered on correcting how I pointed to the painful area. That moment stuck with me because I left feeling dismissed rather than listened to. Looking back, what stayed with me wasn't the extraction itself, it was how I felt as a patient. Since then, I've found a dentist who takes the time to explain X-rays, answer questions, and involve me in my care. That experience showed me how different dentistry can feel when communication and patient respect are priorities. I'm simply sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. My advice is to read the reviews carefully and decide whether this office is the right fit for you.

Ok not the dark, but dentists YES, when I was growing up my parents took me to a a place that ended up with a 60 min segment on their questionable practices. My experiences from the ages of 5-18 were complete nightmares. I think it's a miracle I go to the dentist at all. Well my miracle is Dr. Gonzales. He has had the patience to figure out that I just don't numb easily. He takes the time to make sure I'm numb & does NOT rush me through so that he can get another patient in the chair.. I've been going to him for about 25 years. I can not say enough good things about him. He is a kind and patient person, tears stream down my face sometimes just because they have moved my chair into position. And he just talks me through it with his very compassionate and soothing demeanor/voice. As I mentioned, I don't numb well & he never rushes through a procedure with me. He offers me breaks throughout, a procedure ( I usually decline cause I just want to be over). I am in awe of him. But not only is Dr. Gonzales the best thing since wifi, his staff is amazing. Gabby is really nice, I can go a year not going to the dentist & I'll call to set up an appointment & she recognizes my voice right away. Rosie retired, but she had such great energy, she's someone I coumd imagine holding hands with while walking, she was just VERY reassuring and gentle. I don't think we ever did hold hands with her but she was sweet enough that I don't thing she would have bated an eye if I'd needed the reassurance. Like I said,, Rosie is enjoying her retirement but those are the types of people he employs. The office is ALWAYS clean and pretty. The dental chairs look out a north facing wall of windows and on a clear day, the view is gorgeous. Parking is great. I could write for days and I wouldn't tire of saying positive things. If you have any nervousness about going to a dentist, go here. Smile big & confess your fears. They will be gentle, kind & understanding, I promise!

I do want to mention that the X-ray technician was lovely and kind, and I have nothing negative to say about her. I was then told that I needed a deep cleaning. I have never had a cavity, I take my dental health seriously, and I regularly go to the dentist three times a year, so I was very surprised by this recommendation. I explained that I could not afford a deep cleaning and asked if I could simply have a regular cleaning instead. They refused. When I spoke with the employee who handles insurance, I asked if she could speak with the doctor to see whether a regular cleaning was an option. She told me multiple times that she could not and that they could only do what the doctor recommended. Eventually, she said she would ask the doctor and call me back. I never received a call. Two weeks later, I went back into the office myself. She apparently had forgotten that she had agreed to ask and then told me that the doctor had said no. What is especially frustrating is that I now have to find another dentist and potentially pay another exam fee simply because this office refused to provide a regular cleaning. I went in expecting a routine dental visit and left feeling like I was being pressured into a significantly more expensive treatment that I could not afford. The interaction with the insurance employee was also very unpleasant. When I was signing the release of information for my X-rays, she stood with her hands on her hips and staring at me the entire time I filled out the paperwork to send to another dental office and she was dismissive. Overall, I did not feel listened to or respected as a patient. I would not recommend this office, especially if you are looking for a straightforward dental experience without feeling pressured into additional or more expensive treatment.

The office was well-run, appointments were on time, and communication felt clear and professional. Over time, after changes to the front desk staff, my experience began to shift. Wait times became consistently longer, and the overall organization of appointments felt less reliable. During one visit, a hygienist mentioned that certain areas of my enamel were weaker and adjusted her polishing approach accordingly. At a later appointment, during a cleaning performed by the owner, I was told that one of my teeth had chipped and was offered a repair "if I wanted to." There was no explanation of how this related to prior notes about enamel weakness, and I was left unclear as to whether this information was being tracked or consistently communicated between providers. The final issue that led me to leave the practice occurred when I arrived for an appointment, signed in, and waited for over an hour without being seen. At one point, it became apparent that I had been overlooked. When this was brought to the staff's attention, I was told that I "should have said something," and it was also suggested that where I chose to sit in the waiting room led staff to assume I was with another family who had arrived earlier. This was confusing to me, as I had signed in upon arrival and was present in the waiting area the entire time. At that point, I no longer felt confident in the office's internal processes or communication. I have since moved on to a different dental practice, where all my concerns were clearly explained and addressed. I'm beyond grateful I was able to find a new practice. I'm sharing this review not to criticize individuals, but to encourage patients to be mindful and proactive, particularly around appointment flow and communication.
