I love how I got a referral here that's 100% useless. I took the referral to 3 different hospitals…read moreover the week. Despite the fact that I explained in those hospitals exactly what the referral was for they all told me that they can't accept it because they can't read the handwriting on it at all.

Not sure where to start, my father (age 71) was referred by a Bronx Dental Clinic in Castle Hill…read morefor emergency oral surgery. The only in-network provider that accepted walk-ins on such short notice was Manhattan Oral Facial Surgery on Grand Concourse. The word on the street is... this dental clinic accepts several walk-ins daily but you need to arrive by 6AM or you may miss your opportunity. Super-thankful for this intel because we arrived at 6:15am and there were already 14 people on line, standing in the rain until opening time. We finally registered at 8:45AM. The receptionist asked for a specialty referral from the referring provider which I confirmed was faxed over the day before. It was clear to me that without the specialty referral in-hand, there was a chance my father would not receive the emergent dental care he required. In my opinion, older patients usually lack the expertise needed to navigate the complex bureaucracies of health care, so the onus is on the providers' office. If you're missing any supporting documentation (e.g. referrals, discharge info) from referring providers then your administrative staff should support this task. After all, you'll need this information to submit your claim to get paid so it would be counter-productive not to help the patients with obtaining these docs. Now to the actual care provided, my father chose local anesthetic for his tooth extraction. The whole procedure was done in five minutes.....Yes, five minutes!!!! Here's the thing, this is patient care, not a pit stop at the Indy 500. My father's tooth was extracted before the local anesthetic even kicked in which makes sense because he told me he felt the entire procedure. This clinic is about flipping patients as quickly as possible. It's like a factory and the dental professionals are an assembly line that focus on manufacturing the perfect revolving door of patients rather than delivering the quality care they deserve.

While sitting in the waiting room I noticed a boy sitting next to a woman in scrubs who was talking and joking with him. As I sat there a bit longer, I noticed a woman pull up to the front of the office and the lady in scrubs helped the boy stand and walk out to the car. He was unsteady on his feet and another man came from the back of the office and helped her walk him out to the car. The man then buckled the childs seat belt and he and the woman in scrubs both came back into the building. I realized the woman was employed there- the dental assistant. OMG! When do you ever see any medical office assist the patients out to the car. I was amazed! So our experience was similar. The office closes at noon on Tuesday's and he saw them after hours. My daughter wasn't finished until after 2:30p. The staff was great, Dr. C was fantastic with my adult daughter who has dentist anxiety. He worked with the insurance company for my husband and while they didn't take my daughters insurance he worked with us saying "Mom, regardless they have to come out today, so they will come out and then we can worry about it." I never felt rushed, he was fantastic. After care was explained in great detail and he walked us out to the car to make sure everything was ok. Side note: I am a RN and the care he provided to my family was unlike anything we have experienced previously at any dental office anywhere. Do not let the fact that he is in the "bad" part of town dissuade you, or the fact that he doesn't have a fish tank or he wears traditional Indian footwear that look like slippers. Thank you Dr. C for your amazing kindness!

Dr Moore made me so comfortable..even the atmosphere of the office ..the soft music playing in the background..the crisp light air in the room..the television that displays a calm view directly in front of u. Dr Moore is very respectful and he lets u know what needs to be done without making u feel afraid..He actually helps u through it while he maintains his own focus of the procedure. I could sense that he has years of experience By the way he communicates you know that u can trust him right away. Before I knew it 1..2.3..overwith and I felt nothing cause he numbed me real good and the assistant is on point with the suction and assistance. Before I knew it, it was time to get up and I cried tears of happiness because it wasn't what I worried it would be . Don't let anxiety stop you. Go to this office. He is a blessing and professional. 6 stars if I could

Ms. Angela and Ms. Tomika are hero's! They understand people! That shouldn't be hard in the world today but you guys know it's hard to find at any business. They both take the time to make sure my needs are met to the best of their ability. When I was in pain and needed a root canal they told me to come right in and worked with my dentist to make sure I was seen ASAP. They are real with you and I wouldn't have it any other way. Their lights warm up the waiting room! Next onto doctor Moore. For someone like me who has always had dental problems and needed a dentist more than a regular doctor i have had so many experiences. Doctor Moore is truly only of kind. He's my dentist but he talks to me with such great care almost like a dad talking to a son. Coaching me through any procedures and information I need to know. He's makes something as serious as root cancel a walk in the park. I trust his expertise because I know it's not only coming from his experience as great dentist but from his heart as a caring human being. I feel safe, cared for and respected. What more can ask for in this world today. Thanks parkchester l, your awesome

For one thing, before you can see the doctor, you must sign a form saying that you've *already* seen the doctor, who has explained to you the procedures to be done and their cost, and certifying that you agree to the procedures and cost (that no one has told you about yet). The potential for abuse is obvious. In the blank box in the middle of the page, they could later fill in $6000 of procedures that I'd never heard about, and because my signature was at the bottom, they could say I agreed to it. I pointed out to two receptionists, separately, why this was a problem, and they both said, in so many words, "Just sign the bottom. We'll fill in what you're agreeing to later," and that unless I lied and signed this form, the doctor would not see me. That wasn't the only iffy form but the was the worst one... the sort of thing an up-and-up business wouldn't insist on. I left without signing, filed a complaint with my health insurer, and am considering filing a complaint with the state.
