Once in the back, I advised the nurse that I was pregnant and if possible I would like to decline my xrays and just get a cleaning for safety of my child. The nurse left to consult with Dr. Lee who then sent the nurse back stating she would need clearance from my OB/GYN. I have never heard of a clearance being needed for a simple cleaning and questioned the nurse more for explanation. The nurse asked if I would like to speak with Dr. Lee and I said yes I really would like to because I need clarity. When the nurse asked Dr. Lee to speak with me she told the nurse "I am too busy and she (speaking about me) is a liability, I don't want the liability". When the nurse told me this I was so confused and truly upset with the lack of professionalism and care for a patient. Not only that, but Dr. Lee never came to face me and for her to say she was too busy, when truthfully this was my allotted appointment time, was very disheartening and made me feel like she treated me like trash. I would NEVER go back to this establishment and I really hope the word gets out on how she treats her patients. If you are a pregnant woman, think about making an appointment here. It is very possible that they will not treat you and Dr. Lee will not even come to speak with you face to face to tell you why. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. What I admire most about this office is they work 4 days a week-- the office is closed Wednesdays! At first I thought, oh it must be to get a handle on paperwork or claims. Nope, they simply value time off for everyone to be able to be refreshed ! I appreciate that as a business and customer service model because it means they are mentally fresh on any given day they are working on my teeth:-) The only con is that CNN news is always playing on each TV and in the waiting room, which is not relaxing ever, so I ask them to turn it off in my cubicle. I researched and really liked the "feel" of Atlanta Dental Spa. Their "No Judgement" attitude is what I liked the most. I walked in the front door (BIG step) and Tiara took such great care of me. She is so sweet!! After x-rays and scans, I met with Dr. Gandhi who was very understanding of my fear. He was gentle and explained everything that needed to be done and what those options were. It was scary looking at all that was needed, but they offer sedation dentistry and that's what I did. After a good couple of hours of being "consciously knocked out", Dr. Gandhi, Whitney and Britney got the work done! I left being able to smile showing my teeth for the first time in years! But more so, correcting the things that could affect the rest of my health. After I got home I did NOT have ANY pain which is saying a lot as I had a ton of work done. They said that days 3-4 might be the worst for pain, but there was NONE. And that's taking nothing but ibuprofen. The advancement of dentistry is amazing. More than that, finding a dental office that treats you like family, sees you at your scheduled time, offers you neck warmers, blankets, headphones with your choice of music...but most of all truly cares about your patient experience. I'll keep my mouth healthy at Atlanta Dental Spa-Highlands and Dr. Gandhi is my dental guy going forward! (Also thanks to Tiffany who helped answer my financial questions!)
