Very well kept store, with a wide variety to make it worth a stop. Came in to buy a used collar…read moreshirt (at my age, wearing a coat and tie is a once/twice a year thing). Found a good condition Van Heusen, the right size, for only $6.99. Picture doesn't really do it justice, for the rare occasion I have to put on my suit, it will work just fine. BTW, my current suit came from another Goodwill in the Austin area, custom suit that normally would be over $1000, got myself a bespoke fitted suit for around $30. Never know what you'll find.

I used to stop at this Goodwill regularly, but lately it feels like a complete waste of time and…read moregas. Their new AI pricing system is wildly out of touch with reality. I'll walk the aisles and see donated items--things they literally received for free--priced the same as, or even higher than, what you can buy brand new at a retail store or online. The whole point of a thrift store used to be finding affordable secondhand items and giving donated goods a second life. Now it feels like they're trying to squeeze every last dollar out of things that were donated by the community in the first place. I often leave empty-handed after spending time and fuel to get there, because the prices just don't make sense. If this keeps up, I'll probably stop going altogether. A thrift store should feel like a place where the community benefits--not a place where shoppers feel like they're paying boutique prices for used goods. Savers is looking better and better every day!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Ciarra. During COVID, my original doula was unable to attend my baby's birth, and Ciarra stepped in as her backup. Looking back, I genuinely couldn't have asked for anyone better. I was scared, overwhelmed, and facing circumstances I hadn't anticipated. Despite coming in as a backup, Ciarra took the time to read my birth plan and understand what mattered to me. Even though things didn't go as planned, she did everything she could to make sure my wishes were respected and that I felt supported. One moment I will never forget was when she reminded me that I didn't have to remove my hijab if I wasn't comfortable. As a Muslim woman of color, that simple act of thoughtfulness meant more to me than I can put into words. She didn't make me feel different, uncomfortable, or like my needs were an inconvenience. She simply saw me as a human being, a mother who deserved dignity, kindness, and respect. She made sure I had the opportunity to hold my baby and even captured precious photographs of us together. Those memories mean the world to me, especially because so much of that experience was overwhelming. And her kindness didn't end with the birth. My daughter is now five years old, and Ciarra has never forgotten her birthday. Every single year, she remembers to wish her. That speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. I've had my share of heartbreaking and disappointing experiences navigating maternity care and healthcare in the Austin area. I've encountered many people who speak about supporting and empowering women, but genuine compassion isn't always something you experience when you need it most. Ciarra didn't just talk about supporting mothers. She showed me what that support actually looks like. Of all the people I've encountered throughout my maternity care experiences in Austin, Ciarra is the one person I can wholeheartedly recommend without hesitation. If I'm ever blessed with another baby, I would want Ciarra by my side again. I trust her, and that trust means everything to me. Five years later, I still remember how she made me feel when I needed someone the most. I will forever be grateful that our paths crossed. Thank you, Ciarra, for seeing me, respecting me, and treating me with such genuine humanity and compassion.
