After much procrastination, I decided to give in to both vanity and oral health and search around for a dentist. Such a search, as you likely know, is frustrating. Often, people will remark a dentist is good based on the experience at the routine exam or dental cleaning. I'd wager even a sadistic hack could perform a good dental cleaning, so such recommendations were irrelevant to me. More to the point, I didn't want to be pressured to embark on a dental tourist expedition. Being tempted with the thought of half-priced crowns, root-canals, and the like. No, I wanted to stay where my medical malpractice hammer is most effective. Phoenix Dental is a very clean and friendly establishment. The equipment appears to be quite modern. There's no dried blood on the walls or the ceiling and the staff are quite pleasant. I've visited this establishment four times in the past five weeks. While the procedure I'm embarking upon is mildly painful, it's tolerable to do two procedures per week. My first session was nice. The x-rays and examination was free. We went over a plan on what I wanted done and what was needed to be done. It was affordable and spread out throughout the year, so the economic bite does not hurt as bad. They put glasses on your face so bits of bone, chemical, and blood don't fly into your eyes, which are aimed at the ceiling where there's a flat screen television tuned in to music videos. The price of the procedures is fairly standard for Ireland. Not the cheapest, but definitely not the most dear. More importantly, the quality seems to be sound. A dentist in the west recommended the doctor here, as did a city centre surgeon who would of seen previous work from the doctors at this clinic. You can't get much better a referral than that!

Richard (Dentist) is a gentlemen, takes his time and explains everything well and most importantly made light work in the tooth extraction. The service Staff were friendly and I was seen to straight away. I would recommend this dentist.

I've had some bad dentist experiences in general so I'm fairly picky now! The practice is run by twin brothers, Liam and John, both of whom are really friendly and great at putting the patient at ease. I've seen both of them on two different occasions but the handover was seamless, John had looked through the xrays Liam had performed and thanks to his detailed notes, had a great overview of my history. They also have these interesting posters on the ceiling above the chair which are great for passing the time and giving you something to look at while they work away, small detail but shows care for the customer experience.

It didn't matter if my mother would say she'd get me the new Optimus Prime transformer or not, I'd have to be dragged kicking and screaming. Moving out from under the wings of my mother some time ago I then didn't even have that little enticement there to force me to go to the dentist! I started going to one of the dentists here, John, when he was at another practice a few of years ago. His easy going manner put me at ease straight away and his work was excellent to say the least. When he opened Village Dental a couple of years ago with his brother (the other dentist here), it was a no brainer for me to head here for any check-ups and treatment. Its a little out of the way for me as I don't live in Blanchardstown but, hey, when you find a good thing, best to stick with it in my book. I've no problems with going to the dentist now. Can't say I enjoy it in a perverse way just yet but I'm certainly not reluctant to pick up the phone and book my next check-up. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough. And for U2 fans there's a U2 book to read in the waiting room! N.B. Practice is just off Church Avenue. Google maps hasn't a recent enough tile for the area just yet.

Prices are reasonable, and they have a refer-a-friend incentive also. I felt like they really took their time to make sure everything was done properly, not just rushing to squeeze in as many patients as possible in the day! Definitely recommended if you are looking for a new dentist! I'll certainly be back. #DublinShopsLocal

Look, it's never gonna be a nice experience, but these guys certainly like it as pleasurable as possible. Some things I noted: - The reception area is lovely and airy, with piles upon piles of great magazines, and, most deadly of all, National Geographics that could keep you occupied for hours - All staff have a really lovely manner about them - very friendly, smiley, and above all, honest. I always got the feeling that they were taking me through the best course of action, and that they most certainly weren't out to (pun intended) extract the most amount of money out of me - The price of treatments seems to be pretty good value as well All in all, a really nice practice with a homely vibe, but most importantly, coupled with a professional manner. Win win!
