I went to SCR Dentists in Portobello Dublin ,after being treated poorly by a city centre dentists…read moredue to their all round inefficiency and lacklustre approach. I will not name names but their site and marketing approach seems more important than their ability to work in their chosen profession. In the SCR clinic you will always get the same dentist or dental hygienist if you are a patient. I'm quite a nervous patient and had a wisdom tooth extracted and two fillings plus a cleaning with the absolute minimum of pain. I would rate them as 5 stars or if grading them would give them an A( in other words greater than 85 percent -"good"). They are a ,"top drawer establishment ", and would tell anyone who is a nervous patient or has had a bad experience in the past that this is where to go. 5 stars. You will not get better easily and everyone who I spoke to while waiting had only good words to speak of them.

When I called to make my the appointment I was informed I couldn't see the hygienist until I saw the main Dentist as this is common practice for a new patient. I waited two weeks for an appointment which wasn't too bad. The office is located about 5 minutes from the top of Camden street and inside an old Georgian house. The reception is located on the bottom floor and I was greeted by two very friendly receptionist. Filled out a quick form and was right on time to meet with Dr. Ed. Being honest I was actually taken aback by Dr. Ed's friendliness. You can tell that his patients are very important to him and he took genuine interest in myself. He was quick and precise but at no point did I feel rushed. I definitely felt he knew what he was talking about. I was then moved along to the Hygienist who again I felt very comfortable with. I would highly recommend.

Everything was explained and all the options were given..a pre-bill so I knew how much everything would cost over the next month...4/5 visits! I was disappointed with one thing; I had a filling and it was to cost E120. I went tot the front desk to pay I was charged more, nearly E30 more. I questioned it and was told the filling was deeper than originally expected so it cost more... communication PLEASE...never knew this until I was being charged...my pre-bill quote flew out the window :(
