My son had work done about two years ago, and he was physically distraught afterwards. The whole experience was awful. They don't try to help the kids get comfortable with the equipment. They just shove it in their mouth and hope for the best. Ever since, my son freaks out, even at just the xray machine. They seem irritated when they can't do it and move on. Also, to freak out the children even more, you can hear kids screaming and crying in the back. We went to a new office and they're wonderful, so there are better experiences our there. Please, if your child has trauma connected to a place, please, go somewhere else. It's not worth making it worse. read more

I do not recommend this place at all! The receptionist was extremely rude! My son has autism and we were told that only 2 wisdom teeth were going to be removed but that rude receptionist told him "Either get 4 removed or nothing" in a very aggressive tone. I called my insurance and they said us as parents can decide how many teeth can be removed. If you don't want a bad experience don't come here! read more

Their work is overall fine I guess but what really makes me extremely angry is that I was sent to this dentist by Julia Negom because she said "they're the only ones who take your insurance to get your wisdom teeth pulled in ALL of the Antelope Valley." So I sent them my referral. They had the x-rays of my teeth that needed to be pulled IN ADVANCE. When I got there everything is fine and then they start numbing me, after that's done the male dentist says "oh it's gonna be $500 to put mesh down on 1 tooth after I remove your wisdom tooth " I'm blindsided and I say I need to think about it and the guy goes "you're ready here and you're ready numb so you might as well pay it." ??? Like who cares if I'm already numb? Kind of stupid to assume someone has $500. So scummy and unprofessional. Luckily I did have just enough and got it over with but what about those who don't have enough? What about those who get time off of work to get their tooth pulled or whatever just to find out it's gonna cost money that they didn't know in advance that they needed to put out for? It's so unprofessional and it irks me this whole buddy buddy system that he has with Julia, not going to her anymore or this fool ever again, I'd rather go to Mexico. Very kind staff! I had my wisdom teeth removed last Tuesday and everyone treated me very well. The procedure was quick and painless. I fell asleep during it most likely due to the anesthesia. I had no swelling, no bruising, and not really any pain. The dentist who removed them was very kind to me as well! He did a great job. I would recommend this place :) read more

Money hungry place whole attitude changed towards me as soon as I said I didn't want to pay an additional $900+ for something they recommended I do. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The dentist diagnosed my daughter with three cavities, probably took 2 mins to check her mouth and X-rays, treatment was needed which including being strapped down and I would not be able to supervise. This did not sit well with me so I want elsewhere for a second opinion. I had two dentist look at her X-rays and mouth turns out she had no cavities. If the dr is making false diagnoses up for profit. This is absolutely horrific and completely wrong I would not recommend this place at all read more

I went for wisdom extractions. long wait. 2+ hours. the oral sedation they gave me did not work, the laughing gas didn't really do much either. The dentist and his assistance came in and while numbing my mouth were talking about their love lives. most of the extractions went well with no pain, I was able to feel one though and when I cried out the dentist yelled at me saying there was no pain and told me he would quit right there if I cried out again. I highly encourage people to find somewhere else. read more

Went here due to a referral from our primary Dentist, Merlyn Dizon. Inside the office is very clean and organized. All staff are warm and welcoming and made me feel safe placing my daughter in their care. Belinda Martinez, the office manager, was such a sweetheart and gave me updates on my daughter when she was having her procedure done. The receptionist, Emily, was sweet also. They informed me upfront on the phone that during procedures, my daughter would be placed in a blanket restraint and given some nitrous oxide. They also informed me beforehand that I would not be allowed to be present during said procedure. As a medical professional, I believe this is the best decision for the child and the parent, as it would greatly interfere with the specialists' ability to perform their duties efficiently. I know for sure if my daughter saw me in the room, she would want to jump out of her seat and hug me (and so would I! That's a natural reaction). However, this cannot happen because things NEED to get done. All staff was professional, courteous, provided continuous reassurance, and had smiles on their faces the whole time. I referred my co-workers to this office for their children and they will be making their appointments soon, as well. Thank you for the awesome experience. read more

I recently took my 3 year old here to see the dentist , having been referred by Denti-Cal. Upon our arrival, I fully understand that dentistry can be stressful for parents and children, but while waiting I heard several children crying and screaming in the back. When my child was examined, the dentist, DMD F. Thompson, was very unprofessional in my opinion. He refused to acknowledge my presence, speaking only to my child in a cold, condescending manner. His demeanor towards me was quite rude, as he did not attempt to put me at ease. I felt the dentist was trying to inflate their services, in terms of the amount of work the dental assistant came in and said she needed after the dentist left the room. Regardless of the fact that I am on Denti-Cal, it is unethical and unprofessional to say my child needed more dental work than required. Needless to say I left their office and found another, more professional dentist. Once that examined my child, talked to me as a person and also did not try to inflate the bill to Denit-Cal. Based upon my experience, I would not recommend this dental office. read more

My son broke his tooth. I went in on Monday 06/20 to our Family dentist. They had to refer him to another dental office to get it fix. My dentist called all over to find someone who can fix the tooth that day or the next due to the pain he was in. They spoke to Dental Specialty and they insured, they could see him that day and fix it the next day (Tue.). So I was refer to them. After we were leaving Dental Specialty on Monday from having the x-rays done, they inform me they were not going to see my son till Aug. 22! And because I was already referred to them I could not go anywhere else or my ins. wouldn't cover it. They also told me that not only does he have a broken tooth but he needs 3 root canals (something I question was even true now). So after a couple days of none stop calls to them to get me in sooner as they promised, I was seen that Friday. They fixed the broken tooth, and put 3 caps silver caps on the root canals. I thought all went well tell that night. My son tried to eat some pudding and couldn't close his mouth!! The caps were so big it left a gap big enough to not be able to even chew. I called them back to get him in to have it fixed, THEY rescheduled my appointments 5 times, and took 3 visits to have them fix it. They even went as far as calling me and telling me my appt was going to have to be rescheduled unless I came in right then, so I did....and was sent home without the work being fixed. It wasn't until 3 weeks after the first appt. and my sons mouth was not fixed, that I called and advised them I was making a complaint with the Dental Board of Ca, they finally fix it the next day. My son had to have all 3 caps removed, re-drill the teeth down and recapped. My son lost a lot of weight in the 3 weeks from eating soft foods that do not require a lot of chewing. And now he is petrified of the dentist, something he was not scared of before. Come to fine out the board has several complaints about them. Please be warned! Dont go here! read more

This place had its moments. I went in to get my wisdom teeth extracted. When I arrived, I asked the receptionist how long the wait was, and she replied with an hour. That didn't seem to be so bad. One hour turned into 2, then 3, then finally after 3 1/2 hours it was my turn. One of the receptionists was really nice and patient, but I noticed the other one seemed bothered when people asked about their wait times. And when asked, they gave out what seemed to be a scripted response. They told everyone the wait would be an hour. At least the waiting room was clean, and the other frustrated people were friendly enough to hold a convo with. Then came time to see the oral surgeon. He seemed ok enough. When he started pulling my first tooth, it was painful, even tho he kept saying it was only a little pressure. The other 2 were ok. Hopefully I won't have to deal with this place again. Two days after my tooth extraction, a piece of tooth bone surfaced so I went in two days earlier than my post-op week appointment due to the extreme pain and discomfort I felt. Dr. Florian Thompson was there that day and checked my mouth. He quickly glanced in my mouth and stated mouth looks good this is all healing (ulcers and tooth bone?). I pointed out that I had a hard piece of something sticking out to which he quickly replied again, it's all part of the healing. Of course, later that night, the piece came out with me messing with it so much with my tongue. It was definitely a tooth bone, it was hard and stinky from being there so long. So much for making sure my mouth was checked properly. He was terrible and I won't ever go back! The front staff , however, was friendly and professional. The office manager, Belinda, after speaking with her definitely didn't seem like she cared about my concern and this surgeon not checking me like he should have. read more

Dr. Marissa Faeldan-Suarez saved my son's two front teeth! My son's baby teeth fell out and the permanent teeth were coming out of the gums. He had a skate boarding accident and hit his mouth on the pavement. The two front teeth were sliding up and down in the gums. They were knocked loose but did not come out. It happened late in the afternoon on a Saturday. I went to the urgent care and they stitched up my son's lip. I called my dentist and they saw him on Monday. They referred me to Dental Specialty care because they did not want to take a chance on him losing his teeth. I called Dental Specialty Care and they saw him on Tuesday. They treated him right away with no wait and put on a splint on his teeth. The staff was very understanding and the dentist was EXCELLENT! She treated my son so gently and SAVED HIS TEETH!!! I don't know what I would have done if he had no front teeth at such a young age. Now, when I look at my son or watch him eat an apple, I think of how thankful I am for Dr. Marissa Faeldan-Suarez. read more

This is the absolute worst children's dentist I have ever been too. My son is now traumatized by the work he had done. My son's regular dentist was not available to see him and he had a tooth that was infected. I called around and was referred to Specialty Dental by another office. I called and got in right away which I thought was great. Once we arrived I should have stuck with my gut feeling and left after hearing several children screaming bloody murder then exiting in obvious pain. I made a comment to the front desk lady about the amount of screaming and she said it was just because the kids were scared. This is suppose to be a children's dentist office which only had one toy in the corner and not inviting at all. I waited 2 hours past my appointment time to finally be seen. Once he was finally seen I was given options regarding sedation which I was fine with, I wanted him to be as comfortable as possible. Finally it was time for my son to go back, I was told he need 3 teeth pulled and several teeth capped. Mind you he had just been seen our dentist in July and only needed sealants. My son was strapped into their "hugging" blanket for his protection and I was then told to wait in the waiting room. I waited just two doors away from his treatment room and could hear the Dr. giving him the numbing shots then not more than 5 minutes passes and I hear my son screaming in horrific pain like the children before him. I asked the dental assistant why he was screaming if he was numb and she said it was because he was "scared". I asked her to go in and check on him at this time the screaming had stopped. She opened the door and my son was laying there with tear rolling own his face. The assistant said we are just doing sealants and he's crying. Finally I was allowed back in and asked my son what happed and why he was screaming, he said he could feel the Dr. pulling his teeth out and he wouldn't stop and it hurt really bad. My son has been to the dentist several times and we have never had him scream for no reason. I questioned them again about him screaming and was told he was just scared and the Dr. cant control if they scream. I would never recommend this dentist to anyone not even my worst enemy. If you hate your children and want to torture them then go ahead and make an appointment but if your a loving caring parent stay as far away from this place as possible. read more

horrible! abusive liars! broke law and my child was given too much anethitics, gagged with paper towel while in papoose and strapped in so tight he couldnt breath and had marks all over his arms and wrists and legs where they strapped him in and it stopped his circulation and he had a cut on his nose where they shoved the nitro mask on him..mt son is very calm and good at the dentist but he was screaming cuz he couldnt breathe and i loosened the papoose and they said he didnt need the nitro mask if he took the oral solution but behind closed doors tightened the papoose and gagged my child with a paper towel and forced him to breath the nitro so he wouldnt scream but he was scream and he was traumatized and had trouble catching his breath the rest of that day and all night i was worried i was going to have to take him to the ER.. i have reported these horrible abusive people and told them what they did was beyond wrong..my child suffered and the other parents in the office where upset and pissed off as well...DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE! read more
