They will give you another procedure that is not covered by your insurance and you need to pay it right away because the doctor won't accept installment for the fee. That time, i can feel it the doctor is not concern to my current situation and money only matters to her. 3.5hr wait for a 2 min follow up for the dental assistant to tell you to come back after they file an insurance claim for the procedure, I did not even see the dentist nor did they ask about my current state. I come back a few weeks later, refuses to update me on the insurance, makes me wait another 3.5hrs to see the dental assistant to tell me that insurance only covers partially and gives me a large bill before the procedure can proceed. I was able to get an appointment elsewhere and while insurance was still only able to cover partially, the other clinic's prices for the same procedure codes were less than half the price of here, plus they have 4+ stars with great reviews. Lesson learned, do not go to a 1 star "dental clinic". They do not have any compassion or respect for your time, I was only met with hostility and attitude from all parties, including the front desk and dental assistants, when asking just 2 questions after having to sit in the waiting room for hours, watching them take in people who came after I did. This was one of the only "clinics" with availability in the area but if you can, please go to any other clinic, I ended up taking a 30min subway ride to Manhattan for a much better clinic, they were able to honor my appointment time and did not actively impede my care and well being for profit. I was needed a wisdom tooth extracted. Was seen on time. Oral surgeon was Dr. Robert Mines. Very nice. Professional. He explained what he was going to do. Also, dental assistant was very good. Stopped when I felt any pain. Was over soon 15 minutes or so. Tooth was extracted. What a relief. I will return next month to have other wisdom tooth extracted. I highly recommend him. read more

To start, the receptionists are rude. I was on hold for 30min, before I hung up and called back. I managed to get through and was put on hold again. 3rd time I called they told me to come in the following morning. I asked if they had received clearance from my oncologist as well as from my insurance. Guess what happened next? Put on hold for another 14min. Then the doc gets on and says he won't perform my root canal because I've called to many times. Stay away from this office if you can. After waiting for 2 hours they had finally called me. While Dr. Abrams treated me, she was trying to sell me an extremely expensive paste. We're talking about a 35 ml tube that she wanted to sell for $95. I bought the product since the insurance didn't cover me. 20 minutes later I went online to check how much the paste was and I was very surprised when I saw that the same paste she had sold me for $95 was $18.99 online. It was a total rip-off. I went back to her office and told her and her staff to refund my money because I had found the same product but cheaper. She got very mad and refused to refund my money. Only reason I'm giving it 5 stars is because of dr. Elashmauy. He is the periodontist there. He is a amazing periodontist. He told me I needed gum flap surgery and didn't pressure me into it. He told me if you don't get it here get it somewhere else you need it. I decided to go with him. He talked me through everything he was doing and at the end gave me his cell to call in case I had any questions. I did I called him the next day he answered everything asked how I was doing. I need my second side done but waiting because of money but he's a great periodontist. Now for the actual dentist smh horrible. I went for a cleaning and they mixed up my X-rays only reason I found out was because I got denied for a bridge. The biller did resend it. I'm waiting for my gums to heal so I can get this bridge done and I will decide if I'm keeping them or not. Cleaning was rushed and he hurt. read more

They threw out my paperwork between the first and second attempts to get seen and didn't tell me until I'd been waiting there for another hour. The utterly incompetent staff refuses to take responsibility, trying to make their inability to manage heir schedule my fault and that of their other coworkers. I am very paranoid of the dentist and I had to get a retreatment done I was so nervous and apprehensive about it. I waited a long time to see the doctor due to Covid circumstances and it was well worth the wait. Dr. Rajavi, did my procedure on me. She went above and beyond my expectations, she made me feel so comfortable so relaxed I was an excellent excellent hands. She went over everything thoroughly it had extensive detail to it. She is super sweet and very friendly. She turned my fears and doubts into smiles and joy. If you were going to see anyone in this office and I highly highly recommend her. I promise you you won't be disappointed, she is a real human and she takes the time to make you feel special and comfortable. For someone like me who has had a terrible and horrible experience at the dentist I will go through it all over again if I knew I would be getting her. I recently got insurance and decided to get a routine cleaning done. When I went there they made me get an X-ray I didn't ask for (not sure if covered by my insurance), and when it came time to see the doctor, DR.DAVID GAVLIN said not only needed to get several root canals, but I also need to get a bone replacement for when the root canals were done (none of which he says would be covered by my insurance). I said I'd think about it as I only just got insurance and don't have much money, and he said "Well this has to happen, do you understand?!" I said please just let me think about it, and he said "okay we're done here." Then I reminded him he never did my cleaning and he really said "Your teeth are too dirty to do a regular cleaning, you need to get laser treatment to fix it. It'll cost $1250." Mind you, my teeth are perfectly fine. I don't smoke, brush twice a day, and have a couple of drinks tops over the weekend. The aggressiveness to get a sale was something I never had to deal with in a dentist and I really don't care for it. Avoid at all costs. read more

After we waited for 20 mins they told me that the insurance website is down, and the only way we will be able to meet the doctor is to sign a paper that says I will be fully responsible for the financial for the dental treatment if my insurance doesn't work out, I don't know if this is normal, but I don't feel comfortable to sign it, after I refuse to sign it, the girl at the front desk rolled her eyes, and told me"ok so the doctor will not see you then, you could leave" so I asked if they could call me when they figure out the problem, she handed me the business card and told me to call in a few day, Aren't you suppose to call me since the problem is from your end? This is the worst dental office, from medical dental service down to administrative support. The office itself caters for children, the office is old and dusty, the cabinets are falling apart and they don't have digital X-rays; I would even question the hygiene of the instruments. Aside from waiting over 45min for a scheduled apt, Dr. David Gavlin wanted to sell us dental cleaning that would cost over $450 unnecessarity, he insisted we should obtain a panoramic Xray which costs $125 and was unnecessary hence we were going there for specific endodontist work. On the same day, after the visit, we requested a copy of our records and they were denied to us by the office, Dr. Gavlin and Dr. Elizabeth Abrams, statin they are "confidential records" and that it was "office policy"- a total violation of HIPAA rights. After addressing this and requesting our records on several occasions, all they gave us several excuses and then wanted to charge us $35 for an Xray copy. The office manager Linda was nowhere to be found and neither contacted us; the assistants Michelle M. and Liz hung up on us on several occasions as well and refused to provide us with a HIPAA form for the release of the records. Dr. Gavlin and Abrams were "too busy" to explain why our records were being denied. The violation of patient rights, quality of service as well as patient care are so poor it is such a shame and an absolute lack of professionalism. I would not recommend this office to anyone, whether you are paying out of pocket or have insurance, you are better off going to an updated office, with a clean environment, where the priority of the Dr.s and office is patient care, wellbeing as well as customer service; not selling unnecessary services and denying patient rights. I'd like to give them, "0" stars, but unfortunately, that was not an option. Found them thru Google. When I walked in, my first impression was, "what a dump" The receptionists are extremely rude and very short with you. The dentist told me my best bet was pull all my teeth and get top and bottom full dentures. After waiting over a month for approval from my insurance company, I called them to find out what was taking so long and was told that the dentist submitted the request for the dentures, but not for the general anesthesia, which was necessary, due to multiple surgical extractions. I called the dental office several times and got a recording. I left multiple messages, but never received a call back. I finally reached them, and asked them to submit the request for the anesthesia, and was told they would take care of it. A few weeks later, when I still hadn't heard anything, I was forced to reschedule. I called the office - I said I wanted to cancel an upcoming appointment. When I finally realized that if the office staff, who are their first line representatives, was this bad, I definitely did not want to trust the dentists, I called to cancel my appointment. After being kept on hold forever, I asked them to be sure it was cancelled, as I didn't want to get stuck paying a late cancellation fee - I was assured in a most annoyed tone, that it was taken care of. As soon as I hung up, I realized that in all the waiting and confusion, I had never even given my name. I called back to ask how they could have cancelled my appointment if they didn't even know who I was - they couldn't tell me. After a second opinion elsewhere I was told, I only needed a few extractions, and partial bridges. This entire experience was a nightmare - from step one with the office staff, to a misdiagnoses with the dentist. Trying to relay and retrieve information to their "nasty and inept" receptionists was a chore you would not believe. Please heed my advise - you're better off at a vet. GP read more

i dont review much but i think people should be forewarned. i went here as a referral for a root canal. doctor said my insurance ( quite strangely) denied me last minute on the day of surgery. he said the only option is for me to pay 2000+ for my previously scheduled ( and pre-aproved) root canal or get it extracted for free. he showed me a paper typed by the office in a matter of ten minutes that said denied- it didnt have my health insurances letterhead at all, and theres no way he could've gotten a reply in that time. naively, i believed him. he literally begged me to get the root canal- said "youre beautiful dont do it!" its just $900 down..." aside from the creep-factor, issue #2 is after i got the alleged insurance approved extraction done - which they f****d up majorly btw the inside of my mouth is like chopped meat and they punctured my sinus- i called insurance to ask why was my root canal suddenly denied on the day of the surgery? insurance said this office never submitted for it. insurance had no idea i needed one and would most likely have been ok'ed in essence, this dentist said it was denied, when he never even submitted for it!!!!- just thought he could flirt /scare me into paying him cold hard cash. this is truly despicable. and to boot, the receptionists are the absolute rudest human beings i've ever met. i'm appalled any of them are employed at all- although they are well suited to the morally corrupt posse of doctors they represent. let the attitude of the receptionists serve as a warning of how you will be treated past the waiting room. i should've been scared away at first encounter. i did not see one single person in the overstuffed waiting room treated with respect. any lawyers reading this, feel free to shoot an email. i'm really upset about what was done to me. read more
