I went to Dr. Samuel Tadros, the owner of SolutionZ in Largo, Florida in 2011, for dental work and Botox injections/laser resurfacing. He gave me estimate for several crowns - that estimate kept getting higher with each office visit, and ended up being over $3000 above original treatment plan he proposed. This was not even 4 years ago and within the first two years, two of my back crowns started to break. My current dentist showed me Xrays of each tooth that Dr. Tadros worked on and explained to me what Dr. Tadros did wrong. He said that for a prosthodontist, the work Dr. Tadros did unimpressive. He also said that the material used on my back crowns was not strong enough. One of my back top teeth was too difficult for Dr. Tadros to work on, so he told me that it was impossible to put a crown on it and covered it with some sort of material that kept breaking days after each time he fixed it, essentially leaving my tooth exposed. My current dentist was actually cover it with a crown.
Essentially, over $8000 spent on Dr. Tadros and most of these crowns started to break within the first 2 years. Dr. Tadros should have known that I grind my teeth and need a stronger material for my crowns. But that is only half of the story - Dr. Tadros sold me discounted Botox and laser resurfacing treatments. I've always had great results with Botox, and Dr. Tadros used a very high dose on me, but it was either overly diluted or expired, because it barely paralyzed my forehead and wore out within weeks. He also did 2 treatments with Alma Laser to tighten and refinish my skin. He used a very high setting which he did not adjust for delicate areas like around the eyes or near the moth. These treatments resulted in dramatic volume loss all over my face, which happens when deep subcutaneous fat is melted. The result was that my face started to sag within months - it looked gaunt, as if I were on a starvation diet even though I am full figured. My eyebrows started drooping, my eyelids took on a hollow appearance and my jowls and cheeks dropped. I looked about 15 years older within a few months of these treatments. I believed the marketing hype that this was a safe procedure, but now I know that lasers should be used by plastic surgeons or dermatologists with qualifications, and not by dentists who get bare minimum training. This also affected my vision, as fat pads in the eye area that provide cushioing for the occular nerves were also destroyed. Dr. Tadros just shook his shoulders and responded with 'I have never heard of this before.' He acted as if he did not see that I looked positively awful. This happens quite often, as it turns out, with certain lasers and the Alma Harmony laser that he had used was outdated and considered bad quality laser by several plastic surgeons with whom I later consulted. I have received responses from several plastic surgeons online in response to my posting about this experience - most responded that they have seen the same thing on other patients, but that not enough scientific data exists to back up the facts. End result is I needed a brow lift and face lift, and lots of dermal fillers to restore some of my lost volume. The fillers wear out in time and are expensive, plus I had to stop getting them injected around my eye area when I found out there was risk of vision loss. Dr. Tadros hired a lawyer to defend himself and of course he won - in Florida, proving wrongdoing on the part of a doctor is an impossible task. All I wanted was to refresh and tighten my skin a little bit, and I ended up draining my bank account to pay for surgery to repair the damage that Dr. Tadros had inflicted. read more
