The level of care and the results reliably obtained are of the highest order. The business side of the office (scheduling, billing, etc.) is very capably run, as well. My family for decades were patients of Nicholas's father James Sowles, one of the finest dentists in Boston. When he retired, we transferred to his son's practice. Like father, like son -- reliable dental services skillfully delivered.

I am a young, newly married, working professional and upon moving to a new state knew that I had to schedule my husband and I simple cleanings. No problem there. This one was easy to find, and easy to make appointments for. I asked them to verify that my insurance would cover our visits and they assured me yes was the answer. But right off the bat they seemed disorganized -- couldn't find paperwork, needed to ask us the same questions several times and the entire process took quite some time. The dental hygienist was very rough and to make matters worse not friendly AT ALL. All things I can usually look past and forget about to be honest. But the thing that stuck with me is the $900 bill we got after we both had a simple cleaning done. Once again I called them to ensure there wasn't a mistake as they told me the insurance would cover the cleanings. They said it is my fault I should have checked with the insurance first, there was absolutely nothing they could do and "too bad" in a nutshell. So that was my very first time getting royally screwed out of a thousand bucks as an adult even though I had dental insurance that would have covered everything. They were so very rude from beginning to end and I encourage you skip past and continue your search for one of the other hundreds of dentists based off of rt 53. It's worth it to look past this place.

Found this dentist office on Yelp and thought how is it possible that everyone gave it 5 stars!…read moreCould they possibly be that good? The short answer...YES! They are that good!! I came here to have a tooth checked out. I was hoping to have an appointment with Dr. Salem since she has such great reviews and credentials but she's so booked that I ended up with Dr. Gallagher. I was nervous about this at first but found him to be absolutely fantastic! He saw me right away and checked out the tooth that was hurting me. He told me I needed a root canal. They have a designated oral surgeon who does root canals on specific day. I booked the appointment and got in to have it done. The surgeon and and her assistant were excellent. Didn't take forever and I booked another appointment with Dr. Gallagher to have the crown put on. I went in for my appointment with Dr. Gallagher and he stared working on the buildup of my tooth to put on a crown. This takes 2 visits. He explained everything he was doing and put me at ease since I'm one of many people who are afraid of the dentist. Lol. One thing I pleasantly noticed is the way he treated his assistant. He always said please while asking her for what he needed. I've worked with a Dr. Before (veterinary) and never heard please or thank you from him so I found his kindness to be admirable. I'm so happy I got him as my dentist and I never thought I'd say this but I'm not even nervous about my next appointment. Wish I'd known about this place sooner. Their so fantastic and friendly here, even the receptionist was great! I'd recommend Dr. Gallagher to anyone needing a dentist. He's excellent!

Review for Hingham Endodontic Center…read more I went to this office in severe tooth pain, desperate for help. Instead of listening to my symptoms and concerns, the doctor accused me of wanting a root canal and insisted my pain was due to an ear infection. They performed a sensitivity test, noted my tooth was only minimally reactive, and used that as "proof" that nothing was wrong with it. I sat in the exam chair crying while the doctor and staff reassured me that the root canal I supposedly "wanted" wasn't necessary. At the time, I was already on antibiotics for an ear infection--which I later learned was actually caused by my tooth infection--yet they did not prescribe anything additional or treat the source of the infection. I was told to simply "call back in a month." After enduring the pain and the doctor's dismissive, demeaning behavior, I decided to book an appointment at the Stoughton Endodontic Center instead. They ran the exact same sensitivity test, but this time the provider diagnosed nerve damage and confirmed I needed an emergency root canal. The infection had progressed so far that it had spread into my sinus. Because of the delay in treatment, I am now dealing with lasting effects--a year later, I still experience mild episodes of sinus pressure that began during the infection. This experience was not only unprofessional but potentially dangerous. Dental providers should listen to patients, take their pain seriously, and investigate symptoms thoroughly instead of dismissing them. I would strongly caution others before seeking care here.

Within 24 hours of discovering I needed a root canal, my root canal was complete. This team has…read moretheir operations in excellent shape and patient focused. Thank you!
