Do not go here. When i arrived at 3:48 for my 4:00pm appointment, I was told "oh i think they're done for the day." I informed the receptionist that i had an appointment and still wasn't seen until 4:20pm. Came because I was told they could complete my root canal, sat for 10 minutes to be sent away after being charged $110 for nothing. I called the next morning for clarity, the dentist said, "oh you want a refund?" And hung up on me. After explaining the fact that i am a new nursing mother and scheduling the appointment was hard, no empathy. They have no recent reviews and she charges full price and wants you to wait for insurance reimbursement. Please don't get scammed. There is a reason they do not have any recent reviews and the ones on their site are from 2018...i wanted to go to a black dentist and support Howard Alum. Although the dentist I saw was not associated with Howard, I did not want to get any work done at this office due to my mistreatment at my appointment and the following days. Save your money and do your research for a better office. I wish I would have or not have paid but I was trying so hard to avoid an office confrontation in front of other guests. I have never been here but was thinking of going based on the info commercial and a Google check, however now, I am not so sure. Two very trusted sites that I go to for information on services in Chicago did not appear to have a lot of information on the Chicago Dental Dream Team. One site is of course you guys at Yelp and the other was the BBB. And of the two reviews I did see, they are both a year old and then I got nothing. In my opinion, them being on the south side of Chicago and running that commercial on cable places them in a bad light to me. On top of that, they actually have a FAQ location on their site saying how they do not believe in "dental insurance" and in my opinion that means thousands of dollars most of which most south side folks can't afford. I know it is our own fault that we neglected our oral health, but come on now....why take advantage of people just because they made a mistake. I could not locate anywhere anything about any amounts people have paid. You would think it was the FBI or something as well hidden as this information is. Seriously, please do not go here for dental services! Cornell McCullom III extracted my wisdom teeth a few years ago and it changed my life for the worse. As a result of dental malpractice (which he never admitted to), I have permanent nerve damage (numbness) on the right side of my face. He didn't have the decency to apologize for his mistake or at least issue a refund for the procedure. I still continue to suffer every single day and have to live with this severe injury for the rest of my life. I am gravely disappointed with his lack of professionalism and character. I needed an emergency appointment to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed because I was in a ton of pain from a monster cavity. I mean bad pain- couldn't sleep or think even though I was prescribed Tylenol with Codene from another dentist. They booked me the same day that I called in which was a super plus. The office is snazzy and modern and attractive. The male Dr. McCollum worked with me since he's the oral surgeon and even though I was the last appointment of the day took time to answer all of my nervous questions and he had a calm gentle confident demeanor- which is exactly what I needed since I wanted to keep my beautiful smile but was in a ton of pain and needed to feel informed about the procedure and sure that everything was going alright. The dental assistant that worked with me was also AMAZING and helped to quell all my super anxious energy and also explained things to me before and after the procedure. My procedure took about 2 hours and they had to drill all my teeth apart to get them out. They used a local anesthetic and Dr. McCollum was super responsive to even my slightest reaction of pain or discomfort which was great since I couldn't talk while my mouth was cranked open and full of instruments. After the procedure Dr. McCollum was patient and responsive when I had to come back in because of some bleeding issues. When I told him that the Tylenol regimen was not working for me he prescribed me Vicodin instead which worked much better. So this place would have totally earned 4 stars if it were not for the receptionist giving me the worst attitude when I called with a follow-up question. My procedure was in August and cost a total of $1,640 for all 4 wisdom teeth since 3 were a little complicated. I had to pay about 1200 at the visit. The problem is that I have insurance and later I found out that my insurance company sent in a check for $1000 to cover my procedure six weeks ago! No one from the dentist's office contacted me to let me know that I had a refund coming. When I called to ask what was happening the receptionist cut me off mid-sentence when I was introducing myself and explaining the situation with "So, what if your question?" when I told her about the overpayment she snapped "We know you have a refund check coming to you" and practically hung up on me! She didn't offer any clarification as to when to expect it or why it's been 6 weeks with no word. I was so shocked I immediately wrote this yelp review. Who knows why she decided to turn into Mrs. Attitude all of a sudden but at least I know I got my money coming back! Oh, and everyone was Black, cool! (Minus that sass overload at the end) read more

I visited this clinic and I must say it has state of the art equipment; however, I feel these dentists are strategically located in a poor neighborhood to prey on the elderly as well as the young people in the area that have neglected their dental sitiuation for years. Why would someone pay $40,000 dollars for gum disease treatment when you could replace all your teeth with implants for less money. I didn't have a pleasant experience and it seems to me that these folks are not trying to help people but take advantage of them. Nice office though! read more

After a consultation with Dr. McCullom I called around to see who else in the Chicago area offered the service for comparison purposes. I found no one. Yes, I search Yelp for help on this. Not only was she the only one I found who practices the surgery but I also learned she taught other surgeons on how to use the equipment. Off course I went with Dr. McCullom. The surgery was painless and most importantly effective. The pain that I had feared with this surgery was a figment of my imagination based on what my main dentist informed me the general periodontal disease treatment options were. This place is amazing! I met with Dr.McCollum for multiple extractions and was thrilled with how painless the process was. I usually HATE the dentist and HATE needles, not a problem here at all! The staff is friendly, the waiting room is comfortable, and he was actually able to complete both the shots and extractions virtually pain free.
