-Neglect (late medication refills, ignores 75% of calls)
-Malpractice (reckless medication changes)
-Call center only, no direct lines to clinic departments
-No patient bill of rights
-Attempts to render testing without consent
If I was to write a full, proper review, it would take days. DENT is no different than any other poorly run healthcare mill.
I transferred to DENT from another clinic and was promised that my care would continue as normal. Lies. At my first appt, they refused to keep me on my normal medication regimen which was problematic enough but they also offered no alternatives. I struggled as my health declined for 7 MONTHS until I had lost 25 lbs and they finally decided to fix my medication. Then, after 7 months of normalcy, they discharged me from the practice for ''inappropriate behavior in the clinic area'' because I calmly, but assertively, asked to speak with one of the nurses superiors when that nurse tried to render testing without my consent.
I cant seem to find the patient bill of rights anywhere, leading me to believe that they do not have one for their patients.
They also lack a telephone directory so it is impossible to get ahold of anyone unless you call the main number, wait for ten mins on hold, get transferred to the appropriate department where the call rings, giving you the impression that they will ever actually take your call, only to go to voice mail 100% of the time (i would bet a thousand dollars on this).
They have been up to 5 days late filling my prescriptions (baclofen for chronic spasm, oxycodone for pain) and the last time it happened, they refused to return my calls, refused to return the pharmacy's calls and then, when i stopped into the office on George Karl Blvd to find out why the refill hadnt been called in, they told me that I could not leave without providing a urine sample or I would be cut off of my medication. I was not even scheduled for an appt with the doctor, had just stopped in on my work break, and I had just used the restroom so I could not give urine. What they were trying to do was borderline malpractice so I asked to speak with a supervisor, was given her phone number, called and explained the situation. I received a letter a few days later, dated for the day I stopped in, telling me that they would no longer treat me. They sure were fast to get that discharge letter out... after neglecting to fill my prescription for 5 days. Priorities...
I thought DENT was the holy grail as I had been seeing PA Patric Rood for treatment with medical cannabis for two years but was more than just let down. It's been a month since I was kicked out, I dont have a new doctor to take over because ive been so debilitated with pain and cant find one and, let's face it, all pain management in NY is terrible because of the overreaching DEA. I wont find a good clinic that respects me and takes their oath seriously. I am a professional adult, not a drug addict. I can handle the narcotics (been on them for almost 3 years, still not abusing the drugs or switching to street heroin like a fiend). I have a life to live and my care should not change just because of a doctor's neurotic philosophies or fear of government audits. Reducing my dose or changing the medication isnt keeping me from becoming an addict, it is keeping me from feeding myself regularly and leaving the house to buy groceries.
If you are in pain constantly from an injury, I am so sorry. This isnt going to be easy for you. read more
