I had a 5" dent on the driver side body line above the front wheel well. I visited a popular collision centre that I have previously used to repair a leak in the cargo area of my Subaru Forester. They quoted me $1700+tax+rental to repair the dent. They explained that the dent would require extensive work to repair the side panel and then paint the damaged panel and also repaint the driver door. After researching my options I visited the Dent Doctor on Doncaster and they quoted me $300 + tax. Picked the car up today and the work they did is phenomenal! Just like new. I'm about to sell my car and went to a local body shop to get an estimate on a small dent because a potential buyer asked to get it fixed or lower the price by that amount. The body shop guy looked at it and suggested I called the Dent Doctor guys because his work would be a lot and this could potentially be repaired easily with the Dent Doctor. I emailed the Dr. guy and included a photo of the dent - he replied saying it would be a normal costly repair from the photos. I called and asked if he would mind taking a look in person and of course he said sure so I drove to their shop - he came out of the shop to look at it with a tool in his hands. Went to get a quote on a minor ding. A kid comes out (couldn't be older than 21) and tells me that it's only worth his time if I pay $250 for ONE!. Not that there was a lineup of cars or anything; he was having a coffee. Great business model; price yourself out of the market. I ended up getting 3 dents removed for $250 from Colorworks. Also, the going rate for dent pulling is ~$75 to $100 (true personal quotes), and can easily be bundled for additional discounts if you have more than one ding to fix. FYI, many OEM dealers sub-contract this type of work for $100-200 flat rate per vehicle, so you get the idea of what's fair value. Ten years ago I asked the Service Manager at Mercedes-Benz Thornhill for the name of the company they use for paintless dent repair (as a customer there for 25 years). Without hesitating, his answer was "Dent Doctor. Richard will look after you. He's the owner." Since then Richard and his team of professionals have made storm damage and a dozen+ dents vanish from our four 'S Class' and two 'SL Class' cars. On Tuesday of last week, while filling up at the gas station, my heart sank. I spotted a dent above the door handle on the passenger side of the car. 'Now where the _ _ _ _ did that come from?,' I cursed. Refinishing the door is the last thing I ever want to do. New paint is never 100%, and the bodyshop has to "blow in" both front and rear fenders with more paint to visually blend the colour and clearcoat texture with the original. This means a bodyshop appointment a month away, $1,000+ out of pocket, and a car with paintwork that's no longer original and looks 'off.' A series of muffled expletives later I calmed down and reminded myself that Dent Doctor may be able to take care of it. Sure enough, Richard performed a miracle. Thursday morning the dent was gone.
