We stopped to eat a late lunch on Friday, 1/31/20, and when we walked in the staff was griping about something. Besides one other table, we were the only ones there. We had 5 people at our table. A lady seated us, but said she was already off her shift and that someone else would help us. We were seated for several minutes and could hear the staff still griping. Then a blond heavier set lady with the cash drawer said "Someone go take their drink order because they are giving me dirty looks." I guess we were putting them out, so we left. I do want to mention, we ate here on Sunday night, 1/26/20 and the lady working at that time was very friendly and attentive to us. read more

Best Denny's I have ever been to! The place was warm and welcoming! Our server , Tyrese was quite pleasant and efficient . The buttermilk pancakes were delicious , as was all the food we were served. Thank you !! We will be back! read more

It is a Denny's so it'll almost always be an "A-OK". But what stood out was our server Johnny. Very friendly guy who made sure we were taken care, that our food was good, and that our drinks were always full. Thanks Johnny! read more

If you ignore the poor Yelp ratings like we did, then it's really on you. We just left after waiting over an hour and never receiving food. It took 20 minutes to get 2 of our drink orders (ice tea) and then another 10 minutes to get the 3rd, which was coffee. Coffee should always be the first out at a breakfast place. Aside from that, she only brought a single cup of coffee (no pitcher to refill it ourselves). My mother-in-law never got a refill on her coffee DESPITE the waitress asking if she'd like one and then never bringing it. We even asked a 2nd time after that. We were annoyed that service was so bad but still waiting for our food. After we'd been there an hour, the waitress came out and said she had given our food to another table (who came in 30 minutes after us) and would be happy to turn it in again if we were willing to wait longer for it. Needless to say, we weren't. read more

Our waitress was nice and took good care of us but the food was not good at all. We should have listened to all the other reviews saying how bad it was, but it is Denny's after all, and thought maybe some people had set their expectations to high. It was the worst Denny's food ever. read more

Waited 20 minutes to be seated in an I crowded restaurant. Then quickly ordered and waited 30 minutes for meal. Not happy. They seemed clueless on how to run a restaurant. Needs new management read more

Okay, so we all know what to expect when stopping at Denny's, breakfast all the time, Mediocre coffee, average service, somewhat clean facilities, right? What you don't know and I certainly didn't expect was hearing a microwave door slam as the cook heated up my sent back stone cold grits. They were so awful but extremely burn your mouth hot. Really, microwave grits? Lazy cook. This is our second time at this location and so next time we pass through we will not be stopping there again. The waitress was friendly but speechless when she asked if the grits were hot enough and I answered her yes, I heard the microwave door slam! Well it's the truth, I didn't have her take it off the ticket because honestly, that extra .99, isn't squat considering for me and my bf, it usually runs about $25, which they just lost next time we are in the area. read more

We ate at Denny's yesterday as one of the stops on our road trip. The food and service was pretty good! I had the bacon, avocado, cheese burger and I was really impressed. Our server was new, but she was very polite, and didn't hesitate to ensure that she had the order right. I really appreciated that. My daughter had the chicken tenders and grapes. I had a little bite of hers, and I was again impressed. My wife had the buffalo wings, and they were pretty comparable to Chili's (good thing). Overall, this was one of my better experiences with Denny's. read more

This Denny's location was by far the worst food experience I've had at their restaurants. While the waitress service provided by crystal was exceptional, I could not say the same for the person she referred to as her manager. Complete lack of respect for the work environment and her employees. In regards to my food experience, when my plate arrived I asked that my hash browns be cooked a little more. After 8-10min my plate returned with the same exact hash browns. I was told it would be 10min longer to toast them longer. I was offered a separate order which I accepted. Long behold when it arrived it was deep fried and uneatable(some one tried to be a smart ass). Everyone was pleasant except for management which might I add was in the kitchen. read more

The head cook, an older man was yelling the whole time we were there complains about work and yelling at his coworkers, waitress were rude

Stopped by to grab a bite on our way to Clayton, NM. I ordered the chicken skillet and got the prime rib skillet. But it's all good. Waitress wasn't unfriendly, but seemed like she was just over the day. I know it happens. Food was good and the place is clean. I'd stop here again. read more

We had a large group and the service was great. Very friendly ladies and the manager who checked us out was friendly. It's Denny's so I can't give it a five star...but it was much nicer than most Denny's I've been in. I'd eat here again if I ever decide I wanted hurt burn on my way to Colorado. read more

This was the best Denny's experience I've had since I was a teen. Prompt service and even the food was better than your average Denny's. The place was old but clean. I got a burger that was hot, thick, and juicy; and the avocado slices were generous and fresh. We were pleasantly surprised! read more

The Food was good the staff is really bad. They lost our ticket so it took 45 minutes to get our food. The waitress never came back for another 15 min. It's crazy. But food is good like I said read more

Stopped food here . We were a party of 10 . The first waitress couldn't handle the order. She was rude and childish. She was replaced with a really professional expert who treated us . The manager took good care of us and was very professional. The food was excellent . . We still have a ways to go to Fort Worth Texas. But this meal will carry us along way. Thank Denny's professional. Y'all rock read more

Probably the cleanest Denny's I've ever been to. Food was standard, greasy Denny's. The coffee was some of the best I had on the entire trip (that's stopping every few hundred miles for another cup from Dallas, TX, to Black Hills, SD). Service was friendly and quick. read more

Terrible service from the start. They seated us in a reasonable time. Took a long time before addressing either table then they took drink order for one but not the other. We asked the server that took the first table drink order of both tables were combined due said yes but walked away. We asked another server if we could receive service but no response. First time ever for us but we left the resturant. read more

This is a Denny's after all, but it is a very good Denmys! Lovely, sweet waitress who kept refilling our drinks. Bathrooms were very clean and ADA compliant. The food was just what we needed to keep us going. We put half in the cooler for dinner tonight. read more

This dennys offers high priced food which was quoted cheaper online. They charged twice what was advertised and made a tasteless joke on how part of our order, biscuits and gravy, was a joke because they are not McDonald's. Mediocre high priced food and not what we wanted. Take our favorite past time restaurant and turn it into a menu of nothing. Never seen a dennys that doesn't offer biscuits and gravy. read more

The service was terrible. The waitress made a mistake, and when we pointed it out she got defensive and flat-out lied. She brought a side salad when it was supposed to be a full-sized salad. When we asked her if it was a mistake, she claimed that "only the Cranberry and Caesar salads come on larger plates" and that the salad we received was indeed a full-sized salad. Which was NOT true, which we confirmed with another waitress. When we told the manager all of this she simply brushed it off and said that "she can sometimes be that way." The manager did change the price of the salad to be cheaper but I think it's ridiculous that we had to pay for it at all after the waitress flat-out lied to us, and I think it's really unprofessional for the manager to just brush it off so lightly. Besides that mistake, my sandwich was small considering it was $10, and the fries were soggy and not very hot. In addition we both got cups of soup and mine wasn't filled all the way. Very disappointed. read more

I can't say enough good about this location. Stopped for lunch on a Thursday. Was impressed with cleanliness, including men's room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Waitress got me my patty melt even though they are no longer on the menu. Great I-25 exit for gas. Enjoyed the stop, and it's a nicer exit for food than Trinidad. Only thing I didn't like, the special seasonal shake, white chocolate and raspberry. read more

Worst Denny's restaurant ever! Steak was over cooked and hash brown was not at all crispy. Oh and they took over an hour to get over food and refills, not even once the waitress came to check up on us. read more

My family and I passed through on our way to Colorado, and wished we chose somewhere else to eat. Coffee was horrible. My sister's apple juice had white particles floating in it. We nicely informed the waitress and she brought another one with the same problem. She then brought us extra pancakes, but went to waste bc we were content with what we ordered. The manager wasn't dressed appropriately, and I know I waited tables at a Denny's when I was a teenager. We'll never stop at a Denny's on a road trip again. read more

Had a great experience here! Very friendly server and extremely attentive. The food was well prepared and didn't wait long at all.

By far one of the worse Denny's I've been to, service is the worse I ordered the meat lovers omelet , it was missing some ingredients including the queso , when I ask the server about the queso and the other ingredients , she was so unapologetic and nasty about it even said that I was wrong , when I ask for the menu to show her , never came with the menu or the missing ingredient . So far the worse read more

Worst Customer service ever!!!! My family & I came from a long trip from Texas (12/23/19) & since the minute we walked in we were treated with bad customer service experience. The manager in charged of sitting people was so rude by yelling out the number of guests. They acted like they have no experience on being a server, making it seem hard to split tickets. Smh don't recommend at all if you're looking for a nice breakfast passing by New Mexico read more

We stopped for dinner, and were horrified when we finally got our food. The salad that we received was rotten and spoiled... slimy. The nachos we ordered looked worse than something you would buy at a theater and only had a handful of chips a small spoon of meat. Not thing like the picture, and definitely not worth $9.95. My son got chicken strips and fries, and the strips were fried crisp and completely dried out. We had to repeatedly ask for his fries, and he finally got them after waiting another 10 mins. The flip side? They tried to fix our Order and apologized profusely.... but nothing could save this experience. read more

My family and I were traveling from Colorado Springs to San Antonio, so Raton is a stopping point for us to eat and stretch our legs. This time, we actually wanted to get out of the car and eat, so we went to Denny's for lunch. Horrible! You are better going next door or across the street. We waited for almost 5 minutes before we were even seated. (Oh, they saw us standing there, but said or did nothing) Next, was the nastiness in the bathroom, one stahl was clogged and had toilet paper with feces on it, gross!! Second, it was so hot in there, we could hardly breath. I didn't even want my children to wash their hands so I gave them some of my Purrell to clean up with. (I secretly wanted to bath them in it after that). Once we finally got to a table and waited for our food to come (30 minutes later!!) they actually intended to charge us for the Prime Rib Cobb Salad after I asked for no Prime Rib and no bacon. C'mon, I am not going to pay 9.29 for a salad when I can get almost the exact same at McDonalds for half the price. I felt bad for the father and his 2 kids that sat in front of us. After waiting for 20 minutes they were told that the kitchen had ran out of food that they ordered! They left, lucky them...we were already committed so we had to stay. Worse experience ever. I left a detailed review on their dennyslistens.com survey, so we will see what happens. Until then, I will post this review on anything I can find. BLUF: just save your time and go somewhere else, leave this Denny's to the locals, they have to be used to it by now. No wonder Raton, NM is just a stopping point. read more

This location has been remodeled recently. It is clean and comfortable. The food was wonderful. We ordered a Fried Chicken Cobb salad and Zesty Nachos. Both had fresh ingredients and tasty dressings/ salsa. The restrooms were clean. The host staff and servers were welcoming and quick. Very good food. Service was beyond compare. The cost was just right. We all left with full bellies. The waitress was especially sensor to our two special needs children. Keep it up Denny's. I am sure this is the only place we will eat in Raton when we stop here. read more

There are certain things you can expect from Denny's. In this case, only the coffee was to par. Even the OJ was watered down and tasteless. The techno/electronica music blaring from the kitchen made me want to shoot myself in the face. One customer asked if the cook could turn it down, to which the cook replied, "OH my God!!" (A-hole). My cheese omelet was so burnt that my friend asked if it had mushrooms in it. ("No, it's burnt") And although the egg part of the omelet was burnt, the cheese managed to be completely void of melted. No matter how much you think this stop may be a good idea, don't do it. You'll regret it...for the rest of your life...heh. Just kidding...you'll definitely regret it for the rest of your trip. Hold out for McDonald's. Trust. read more

Best 2$ quesadilla I've ever had. We also got onion rings which were pretty good as well. Our waitress Lavonne was very friendly. It's not like you have many other options in this town- La Cocina is closed on the weekends and we were in Raton on a Sunday. They also advertise for a McDonald's but it looks like it'll be years until it's built. The only concerning thing was that the woman next to us seemed to of had raw chicken nuggets served to her daughter. read more
