I hate to do this esp. b/c I like their blueberry buttermilk pancakes but after the last two visits, I have to update my initial review from April 2015. The service is friendly but the food is going down hill and quickly.... On Saturday August 22, my boyfriend and I went for breakfast as I had had a terrible experience at a restaurant in Paducah and wanted to get my taste for good pancakes back! The pancakes were good and full of tasty blueberries but the fruit cup was sad at best- not full of deliciousness like it used to be and the strawberries were moldy...., the 2 poached eggs were tiny- the smallest eggs I've ever seen- I know that the cost of eggs has skyrocketed but come on. Next time I have a craving and a coupon, I guess I'll just order the pancakes and skip the rest....... read more

Worst breakfast ever!! My eggs were lukewarm at best, my hash browns were burnt but cold. The bacon was cold and incinerated. The ham was leather. The pancakes were burnt on the edges but undercooked in the middle with a chemical taste. The bananas on the pancakes were over ripe. My husbands pancakes had a strange taste. The staff was not approachable and didn't come to check. We couldn't get extra napkins. In addition there was a male working there, a man in front of us for a table asked for a plug for his computer and this man tore him up one side and down another. It was clear he was doing this as the man was of middle eastern decent. The man kept saying "it's ok" and the male working there kept attacking him verbally! He turned to the man who asked to be seated and said "do you want to just leave or do you intend to eat here" it was the most blatant racism I have seen! Dennys you need to do better! read more

if i could leave 0 stars i would. the hospitality was horrible. we didn't even have a server. when they finally realized we didn't have a server 40 min passed by. a lady took our order gave us our drinks and disappeared for another 1 hr and 30 min. people that sat after us was getting there meals and the hospitality that they came for and we was steady waiting. i just had to get up and leave. for me to never have had denny's i will never be back again. read more

That was just awful. Told there'd be a 15 minute wait for 2 people despite there being 6+ tables open. Given it was busy lunch time but it's clear there was poor communication and a lack of or poor management of allocated resources. The food was a joke. Despite taking nearly 45 minutes after ordering to get, the chicken bourbon skillet was nasty. Their two "chicken breasts" were small circles of chicken (how do they even do that?) about 3-4 inches in diameter. A breast from a chick, maybe. Gross. The "bed of broccoli" was a total of 4 small florets. The potatoes were soggy, and the few vegetables there were, were so soaked in the mega sweet bourbon sauce (as was the rest of the meal) it was basically a thick gloop of tasteless glop. Place an online order ready for p/u at 11:50pm, wasn't ready until 12:05am, no problem I understand sometimes they busy, walk not even three minutes to my truck to find out that the bacon, sausages & pancakes were ice cold, the eggs & red skinned potatoes were almost cold, like what in the world? If it wasn't because I didn't want to be late for my delivery I would had turned back to complaint but for what? So, the service from waiters are amazing, very helpful and friendly. The wait to get seated was not bad 10 -15 min. The wait for food however was bad. 45-50 min wait for food is horrible. The food itself tasted great but the wait killed the mood of the meal. read more

We ate at the Denny's at Oak Grove, KY restaurant, #8581. First problem is we were ignored and not seated and a group that came in after us was going to be seated before us. They did seat us right away after realizing we had been waiting for about 5 minutes. The restaurant was not busy. Our food came out and mine was barely warm. My husband's eggs were not cooked properly and he didn't get his toast. The waitress did not come back to check on us till we had finished our meal. We asked for the toast which then came out cold so he didn't eat it. Probably sat in the back the whole time we were eating. Took 10 minutes to get our bill after we were finished eating. Asked to talk to the manager. She listened to our complaints. She said she'd give us something off our bill. ($3.00) She never even apologized. Remember they were not busy at all and had quite a few people standing around. When we left one of the employees was in the entry way sitting on the floor leaning against the wall. Maybe she was sick. No one smiled. When we asked for the manager the girl had to go hunting for her. She finally found her outside. She said she was talking to another customer. Probably another complaint. It was just the worst eating experience we have ever had at a restaurant. I wish I could give a zero rating but lowest I can post is a one star. read more

I placed a to-go to avoid having an issue of waiting. Order was placed at 8:50am wait should be 18-23 mins. I arrive at 9:34 to pick-up. I was told it would be 30 more mins to wait for food that I both ordered and gave extra time to avoid the issue of time. This is unacceptable. So I arrive 40 mins after order and get told in total it will take over 1 he to make a single meal of food. This isn't bad service it's horrible. I even have extra time knowing it's a busy day. For Denny's, not bad. It appeared to be a relatively new restaurant attached to a truck stop. I had breakfast and I must say, for Denny's it was not bad. No surprises. Everything was cooked good, including the pancakes. The service was prompt and courteous. The restaurant was clean. Everything was cooked well but it was standard Denny's fare, plain. If you travel in the area, a good choice for NO surprises. read more

This week I decided that I wanted breakfast at Denny's, so I looked for one close to me and ended up at this location. I was surprised to see that it was coupled up with a gas station, but that was fine by me. But, if you are bothered by that, ummm, then then don't eat here. I got seated pretty quickly and I could smell the food cooking. So, I was excited to eat! There was an average amount of people people in there when I arrived, but it seemed like forever when my food came after I ordered. (took about 25-35 minutes) I ordered eggs,toast,bacon and hash browns. In case, you're trying to see why it makes sense on the wait time for my food or if you're confused why it took the time it did. Overall, it was an okay experience for my first time here, but it could if been better. How? Well, if you ask for your food to be cooked a particular way and it isn't..... that can be sad and disappointing . But, other than that...it was fine. I will try again in the near future and if my food cooking choices are taken away and ignored once more,then I will update my review and move on. read more

I never thought I'd say this about a Denny's. At a truck stop. In Kentucky. Or ever really, since I associate the chain with things like "the middle of the night," "grease," and "being drunk," but somehow...somehow it's really good. I've been here three times now, and the food tastes clean, well-cooked, and fresh. You can get veggie burgers for beet's sake! When did that happen? The eggs are fluffy, the oatmeal is thick, the vegetable sides are crisp. Dude. It's never been that tasty in CA. The service is great too. The waitresses are total sweethearts and the plates come out quick. read more

This Denny's is connected to a truck stop and it was pretty busy at 8 p.m. on a Friday night. It was the last stop before we reached our hotel and I was too tired to eat much. I had the loaded cheese fries and only ate a few. This was partly because I was tired and partly because the fries were a tad overcooked. However, my companion enjoyed his meal (though I forget what it was). The restroom left something to be desired. read more

This place is amazing. Great staff. Very friendly and even though they were grand slammed busy. They listen to my wife about our freebie birthday weekend. And dashawn Davis sang us happy birthday. Hostess was rude. When seated she sat my wife and I at a still dirty table. When she finally "cleaned" the table she wiped the various fluids on the table into my wife's lap. We had to finish wiping down our own table. Five or so minutes later the general manager asked if we had been helped, we said no and finally put our drink order in. A few minutes later an assistant manager came over and took our food order. Twenty minutes later we're still not sure if we have an actual waitress or waiter. A few minutes later our waitress (!) brought our food, unfortunately the eggs and hashbrowns were undercooked. Nice enough management but floor staff was underwhelming. Have been here twice & will NOT be back. Avoid on weekends because it gets insanely packed. Came here on a weekend, was told it would be a 45 min wait along with an extra 30-60 min food the food to come. I agreed, bc I was hungry & wanted a good breakfast. We finally sit down, order, & get our food in about 50 minutes. One bite in & I find a hair cooked into my food . Completely lost my appetite as did the rest of the table. There was literally 20-25 people in this restaurant. It took 10-15 minutes for anybody to come and take our drink order. After we ordered our food we waited and waited and waited and waited. The waitress finally came to our table to check on us and we asked what was taking so long and she said she would go and check. She must of been scared of me because she sent another waitress out to tell us our order was next to be cooked. In other words...she forgot to put our order in. We threw a couple bucks on the table and left. I have never been to a Denny's with such poor service. If you forgot to put somebody's order in then tell them, apologize and comp them for some of their meal. No big deal...we're human. But, don't be an chicken sh?! Fun Fact: I have legit never seen a Denny's since the 1990's that was not attached to a gas station in the south. THE GOOD: -Never had to wait, even when it was fairly full. BIG dining area all around. -Kept fairly clean considering it is inside a gas station. -Open 24/7, so one of those late night options for bored college kids like me or truckers looking to get a hot meal. THE BAD: -Food quality can be a little greasy at times, and occasionally has been a little "off". Part of that might be going late at night when the night staff does not care as much, but eh, what can you do? -Staff can be weird at times, and we even had one cashier that argued our math was off when it came to the tip, which was a weird experience in itself. Fiance had to break out the smartphone and added up everything to show that yes, we could add and no, she could not. Servers can be really hit or miss at this place, but usually not too bad. Its a OK place, but considering it is the only Denny's anywhere near here pretty much makes it the only option. read more

me and my daughter and mother stopped in last night around 930 or 10 and grabbed a bite to eat before we went back to hotel. we was told from one of the waitress it would be a 45 min wait for food which I understood so we was going to find another restaurant because my daughter has low blood sugars and I didn't want to make her wait, but then out of no where a little lady walked up to us who was the manager and she was in her 70's and said why are you leaving then I explained with my daughters condition we couldn't wait the 45 mins for food, she said sweetie who told you that so I pointed to the girl at the register and said she did she said no sweetie follow me I don't know why they told you that but it won't be that long. we sat down they took our order and in about 10 mins our food was at the table. I regret getting the sweet lady's name but I hope I get to see her again, or I hope she sees this and is recognized for what she did for us last night. just a little bit of kindness in the world today goes along way for me. I've been to a couple other Denny's restaurants at truck stops, and the experience is usually not good. This location, however, was quite the contrary. The place was clean, and the service was pleasant. I ordered the blueberry pancake breakfast with whole wheat pancakes, sugar-free syrup, egg whites, turkey beacon, and grits. I'm not going say my meal was healthy, but it was nice to see Denny's providing healthier alternatives. Furthermore, everything tasted fantastic. Also, they have free wifi and a few tv's. The wifi speed is just below 1 Mbps, which is about average for free wifi hotspots. There are 2 SSIDs named "Denny's" and "Dennys". I was not able to connect to the one containing the apostrophe, but the one without the apostrophe connected right away. If you're hesitant to eat at a truck-stop Denny's, I don't blame you, but you have nothing to worry about at this location. read more

Went there for a free birthday grand slam with my family. Waitress took our order, but then came back because she apparently only half listened to my husband's order. Retold her what he wanted. She brought drinks, mine being a coffee, but we had no silverware for me to stir in my sugar and cream. We told two people we needed it, but it still took 15 minutes to get silverware. Waited and waited for food and people were getting served ahead of us. Food finally arrives cold. Pancakes only half cooked. My husband asked the waitress how long the food had been sitting back there. Her answer? "I don't know." In the end, our whole meal was free, but we won't return. read more

They have the worst employees. The food is ok but not for the service. The employees are extremely disrespectful. Also the food takes forever and usually is cold. My wife and I try to eat here about twice a year just to see if it gets better. It never does. 15-20 minutes just to get the water I ordered to drink.....Unsatisfactory. 54 minutes to receive 4 eggs and an order of hash browns..... unsatisfactory yet again. To top it off, the only thing that didn't have to be cooked, a fruit cup, came out 5 minutes after the other food. On the subject of the food, the hash browns tasted like some kind of chemicals, my wife's scrambled eggs were considerably undercooked.
