Great service, open 24 hours, and super clean. Something about late night breakfast that just hits the spot. Not only was it all I said above but the prices were incredible as well. Cinnamon roll pancakes yes please over and over again

Half of a plate of what I ordered. I order this a few times a week , damn near a scam here.

Only gave a star because they waitress was great. Got scammed on quantity of food, I get this about 3 times a week. This was about 1/2 the serving. I was told I would have to pay dbl to get more. I just wanted what I was supposed to get

I think I'm suppose to eat this then pay for it.. horrible not the first time eather

once again a horrible experience food never cooked or prepared correct waitress don't have nice attititude nothing good to say its getting worse across the country I see why they are going broke

Extravagant sweet tea.

There were some unanswered questions in the 6.9 star review. Apparently you are able to live in a gas station it is just not recommended, it's also illegal, but rules never stopped me. Speaking of rules, they broke all the rules while making this menu, can you believe that you can have a ham and cheese omelette 3 days in a row at 1:00 AM and they remember you!? Not to mention the restrooms, squeaky clean except stall 1 and stall 3, those have been blown up by yours truly. Overall I think this location is phenomenal and deserves more love. Beautiful restaurant Dennys in Mt. Vernon. Keep up the great work.

I had stopped in here reluctantly due to my family wanting to have a quick breakfast and me wanting to keep hitting the road up to Michigan all the was from Memphis Tennessee. I don't like the idea of having a gas station-restaurant breakfast but they were hungry and we stopped to fill gas and eat. First of all, ain't no hospitality there from the get go. Everyone was clearly staring at us for being ARAB and NOT in a friendly way. We weren't treated with respect by the hostess nor our server. Our server was rude, severed tables that had sat down after us and they were done before we even got our food. She was extremely dry, didn't smile, but for the clearly LOCAL folks, she was all smiles and pleasant. Clearly racist and didn't care to hide it. I asked her about substituting certain items because I was Keto and she DARED TO ROLL her eyes and say they don't do that but she'll ask and then gave a fake smerk while taking our menus like she was trying to squeeze every ounce of poison out of her face to attempt a fake smile. The Hostess was just as bad, she checked up on almost all the other tables( LOCALS) and didn't bother checking up, asking and completely ignored us being there. Apart from the appalling treatment me and my family got from the trash running this joint, the food was alright. Never ever stepping foot in that place again. I should've never went in and exposed my poor family to that. SHAME ON YOU DENNYS for allowing people like this to work and treat people this way. Shame.

Pot roast And steak. My husband and I tried to pawn our orders off on each other. All I can say is "Yuch".

Nothing special. Service could stand to be improved. Waitress not particularly friendly and they were out of part of our order

Poor service, especially on night shift. Waitresses are hardly ever seen. What are they doing in back of house?

It's not much to look at when you pull up, a small building between a gas station and hotel. Parking lot was mostly empty and most tables were empty when we arrived. We were greeted by two staff and told to sit anywhere. There is a large menu with a specials sheet - breakfast items on the special ranged from $7-12 dollars. Menu had a wide range of food options - diner feel. We ordered the pancakes and egg, 2 eggs, has brown and toast and Denver omelet special. Breakfast arrived quickly in about 8-10 minutes and was hot! Food was diner style perfect - affordable and plentiful. Eggs were delicious, and cooked to order. Lots of hash browns that were golden and crispy. There were three huge pancakes on my son's plate - he only got through one. Our meal for three people was $29! Can't beat it.

For a small building they hold a lot of hungry people. About 10 four top tables and 5 two tops…read more Servers are very friendly (smiles are free). Menu is extensive (not a Waffle House) The coffee was hot and tasted fresh (a plus for me). A server walks around with a pot to top off coffee (outstanding) Food was all hot and fresh and served pretty fast for as busy as they were Dinning area clean and bright I would encourage a stop in if you are close any day from 6am-3pm

Another Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and another satisfying experience. The hostess was…read morefriendly as well as my server. My food was served hot, in a short period of time after ordering, and it was very good. The only little hiccup was that I ordered grilled sourdough bread and instead they brought me sourdough toast - no big deal. There wasn't a full house so the noise level wasn't bad and thus made for a more comfortable setting. The store had a lot of seasonal items for sale. Along with Autumn themes, Halloween and even Christmas items were also available for purchase. I started looking through one of the books they had for sale, "Devotions from the Horse Farm" by Cara Whitney, and had to buy it. If you've never been to a CB, I recommend you check them out.

My first time trying okra and I know my friend loves Cracker Barrel's fried okra. So it's probably me. Just not to my taste. But what added to our culinary experience and made it enjoyable was the attendant for our table. Her name is Jordan. She has brown hair and was friendly and diligent. She was quick to get our order and very helpful with our questions. While we were eating, I also saw her not only sweeping up after messy patrons, and not only wiping down the tables, but also conscientiously wiping the salt and pepper shakers, etc... It was refreshing to see such a hard worker during a lull in the business day. My husband and I travel many times a month and so we eat out frequently. Many times, we've seen workers going in the back and we end up waiting a long time for service. Or they're more engaged on their phones or chatting with one another so they don't notice the customers. I get it, it's a long day for them. We wanted to give Jordan her props as well as the cooks that day. Like I said, the food was excellent and the people manning the gift shop were very nice. We'll definitely be back!

When people ask why I Yelp, places like this are the answer. Without Yelp, there's zero chance I…read morewould have eaten here, and yet it turned out to be a fantastic option as we were driving down I-70 towards St. Louis. We were headed to the airport and I searched for a 'diner like' place just off the interstate around an hour away. I came across Powhatan, and while the outside didn't look like much in the photos, the food looked great and the reviews were excellent. I bookmarked it, and sure enough it didn't disappoint. The outside is a basic restaurant attached to a hotel/motel. Think side of the road bare bones motel. Honestly, if I hadn't read the reviews I would have just kept on driving. Inside was very nice - not fancy but very bright, clean and welcoming. There was also a small slot machine area off to the side if that's your thing. I ordered the Pocahontas Pride, which was chicken friend steak, two eggs, hash brown casserole (I opted for plain hash browns) buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy. I think it was $15. And it was enough food for two people easily. Very good, and very filling. My daughter ordered boneless wings (I tried a couple since there was too much food for her) and she and I both loved them. I'm normally hesitant to order wings outside of my normal places, but she will order them anywhere and she gave them great praise. She also added 1/2 order of onion rings which were both great and ample - I thought they actually got the order wrong there were so many. Wife wasn't feeling well, so she ordered a simple order of hash browns and liked them. All in all, a great experience for a quick stop during a long drive. Again, without reading the reviews in advance, I doubt I would have ended up at Powhatan. But I'm glad I did!
