Well Shite... 10 May 26 @630pm. Dunnow if they're understaffed, under trained or well, ill just leave it be. Came in awaiting being seated, one lady was curious about 'what I needed' as 8 stood at the hostess stand where is said see hostess to be seated. Told her id like to get a seat. Her reply was someone would be with me in a min. Next interaction was an older lady who came across as crabby and snippy when she asked me abruptly "What are you waiting for"... I replied that id like to get some supper and she just shrugged and turned away... next she continued the tone woth a lady and her sone who was waiting for a pick up.. she quizzed them and then replied that one item was not avail. When asked about if there was a way to substitute, she 'snippily' snipped that whatever you want. I suspect they were over their heads but damn... I waited several minutes and elected to leave and eat elsewhere... no joy. read more

Same experience as others when it comes to being seated and I was the only one there waiting. Went to order food and asked for a milk shake. Well they didn't have any ice cream. Went to order a turkey sandwich well there wasn't any turkey either. I just ended up eating oily French fries and a drink and went somewhere else for lunch. I did sense an attitude from some of the workers there. When they said there wasn't any turkey I should have just paid for my drink and walked out but I stayed. I won't ever eat here at this location again. Place looked decently new but the flooring wasn't clean looking. read more

The food was very good and the service was decent, only had 1 kitchen staff and one waiter but other than that it was excellent. The restaurant was clean and seemed to run fairly smoothly with only the 2 workers. read more

Waited for 10 minutes for our drinks. It's now been 50 minutes without food. Absolutely ridiculous. Will NEVER visit this location again. We're told they're a lot of to go orders. That's not our problem! read more

Some food came out cold, and when I politely asked if my drink or salad could be taken off, the server (John) told me he "could feel the heat" off the food--as if I was lying. My friend also felt the food and agreed it was cold. Instead of addressing the issue, he offered a military discount, which didn't really fix the problem. What made it worse was overhearing him tell another server "they're just trying to get free food," which was completely untrue. To top it off, he didn't even hand me the receipt, just left it on the counter. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable--just fair treatment. The food being cold was one thing, but the way I was treated was the real disappointment. read more

The service was bad, the food was just as bad, and they didn't have much variety. It's a shame, I won't be back, and I don't recommend it either. read more

This place is the worst place ever , food and service are terrible! I highly recommend you guys goes somewhere else to spend your money

The food was hideous!! The one guy cooking if that's what you want to call what he cooked. There weren't but six people altogether in the restaurant. The restaurant was not clean. I could see in the kitchen and it was a mess. We use to go there a lot. That was horrible. Egg shells in the food and we didn't order eggs. Craaaaazy! read more

Denny's had 1 table of 2 when we entered. The place was empty! The staff was no where to be seen. yet there was a couple that walked in just before us. then we walked in, and shortly after a party of 4. We could hear people talking. but couldn't see anyone. We all stood there waiting, until the cook said something and two waitresses arrived. each grabbed a party and my daughter and I were skipped. About 5 minutes went by and then we were approached by the manager (?) and sat at a booth that smelled like URINE!!. Everything was sticky. At this moment we were hungry, tired, etc... I thought maybe i wasn't smelling urine, but what ever it was it was strong. We ordered food. and it was disgusting. Everything was cold, and gross. Old grease, cheese that didn't melt but layered on top of the hashbrowns like rubbery plastic strings, that chewed like rubbery plastic strings on cold rubbery old grease hashbrowns. The only thing worth it was the Maple Stuffed Donut pancake things. we ordered for the hotel refrigerator for snacks. This place should be shut down or demolished and rebuilt, read more

After standing for 15 minutes while the server, hostess, buzzer, prep person told me four times she would be right with me, I finally had to leave. The place wasn't even that busy and they seemed to be short staffed. I witnessed the do it all server/hostess arguing with the cooks. It was a tense environment. I decided that if I had to wait that long just to be seated, then it would take even longer to get my food. So, to be fair, I didn't even get a chance to taste the food. It's too bad because I was really looking forward to an omelette. While I was sitting in the parking lot trying to decide where to go next, the customer who had come in behind me also walked out. read more

I'm so surprised at the low rating! Here is what I want when I walk into a "diner." Friendly staff - check. Quick seating - check. Reasonable prices - check. Food ready quick - check. Eggs done properly - check. Refills without asking - check. Offer of to-go drink - check. This is exactly what it is supposed to be. They even had regulars. I laughed into my coffee when "Bob" arrived, and everyone knew him. "No, he doesn't need a menu and he knows where to sit" said a waitress to the hostess. LOL. read more

I came in and the waitress was very rude and I was being rushed through my order and was very rude when I asked for toast. Don't recommend

Walked in to place a to go order. The manager was working the register helping a customer. I waited 10 minutes while the manager was helping the customer and I was the only person in line at the time. When i was up next the manager said i won't take your to go order, you'll have to wait on a server to free up, and that she would only help people paying tickets behind me. This manager has done this to me multiple times to which the servers have called her a b***h because she refuses to help customers while already working the register. I frequent here daily, but won't anymore! read more

Have you ever seen the Santa Clause? Surely you have. It came out 30 years ago. In the movie, Tim Allen's character burns Christmas Eve dinner and ends up taking his son to Denny's, the only restaurant open late on Christmas Eve. While we were watching the movie in early December, I joked "Wouldn't it be funny to go to Denny's for dinner on Christmas Eve?" Well, you can't joke like that in my family, because my daughters were all in. So there we were. At Denny's in NKC around 7 pm on Christmas Eve. I hadn't been in a Denny's since probably before the Santa Clause came out. The first thing I noticed was how clean it was. Better than I expected. There were people dining but it wasn't busy at all. Our obviously seasoned server was hurried but efficient. She seemed to have to keep the cook staff on task while also waiting tables. Our table of 7 all ordered breakfast and opinions were split. The chicken fried steak people were generally dissatisfied. The French toast/pancake people were much happier. My only criticisms were the sour orange juice and musty iced tea. Given the choice though, I'd go with the OJ. There are myriad good breakfast spots in KC but not many are open past 2 pm. Denny's is open 24 hours and a great option for a solid breakfast. Just go, and tip those hardworking servers well. read more

Ah Denny's, one of the most riffed on chains in America. They certainly are an easy target being in all 50 states and over a 60 year history. They come across as a poor man's Applebee's or an elegant Waffle House. The 24 hour breakfast menu and the ubiquitous "Grand Slam's" have made Denny's a household name and a slang term for culinary mediocrity. But; I come not to bury Denny's, but to praise them. I actually hadn't been in a Denny's since back the last century, I usually frequented the now razed location downtown, or as we called it - "Dime Bag Denny's", since there always seemed to be something sketchy going on in the parking lot or the back booths. My wife came of age in Phoenix and enjoyed going to the "Gay Denny's" located near the gay bar district and with usually a drag queen or two having a meal or coffee. My first visit of the 21st century this week was in celebration of National Pancake Day! A 2 stack of fluffy pancakes topped with sliced bananas, and strawberry's (my waitress told me they were out of strawberries and substituting blueberries but that was a lie) fake butter and artificial maple syrup - oh yeah, the simple things in life! I also had a side of bacon, eggs and hash browns that were perfunctory. I actually ordered sausage but received bacon. With the wrong meat and the fruit lie, I could easily be angry with my server, but how can you get upset with a waitress that is a dead ringer for Mamie Eisenhower; if the former first lady was a chain smoker and still alive at age 120. She kept my coffee cup filled and repeatedly called me "Darlin", and isn't that about all we can hope for in this day and age of lowered expectations and rampant capitalism. It's reassuring to know that there are still places that are common to the entire American populace that will serve you a Moons over my Hammy sandwich at 4am or a slab of Cookie Dough pancakes at 6pm by a workforce that is lacking health insurance and just waiting for their next smoke break. And in my opinion, that's nothing short of a Grand Slam Darlin'. read more

MONIQUE the waitress is the best thing to happen to this Denny's location, she's the best one they have. She's the only reason I gave two stars. She even cooks in the kitchen when the cooks walk out & quit on the spot. She takes great care of all the customers! Food wise it's ok fairly decent sometimes but very small portions of sides! Lemonade was not good. I enjoyed the mozzarella cheese sticks, nachos, & breakfast - pancakes eggs potatoes turkey bacon read more

Awesome place! There is not a lot to eat for breakfast near where I live that is reasonably priced. Came here on a Saturday morning expecting there to be a long wait and we had no wait at all. Service was slow, food was cold. Staff not very friendly. I go back every couple of months hoping they will get better, but it hasn't.

Waitress had an attitude at the host stand. Slammed the menus down on the table and shuffled off. We were ignored for 12 minutes afterwards and had no service during that time frame. We ended up leaving. All I wanted was French toast :( read more

Typical Denny's which isn't bad itself, HOWEVER, the staff is the ABSOLUTE WORST. Our server was an older Hispanic lady with the worst attitude and got a very simple order wrong. On October 2, 2024, me and a friend met for breakfast at Denny's and were pleasantly surprised with flawless service and overall experience. We were hesitant to come because we had unpleasant experiences in the past, but were pleasantly surprised to have had a phenomenal breakfast! As we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a lively gentleman who initially appeared to be the manager, but happened to be the server, named Nick. The restaurant was clean, the food was delicious, but most of all the service was most memorable! We will be back! Thanks Nick and the Denny's team for making our day. read more

This morning I had woken up (at 4:30 am) next to Galaxie and thought to myself I NEED dennys! So in the early hours of the morn me and Galaxie made the 0.8 mile trek to the nearest dennys to my homeless camp. We walked for hours through weeds, grass, sidewalk and gravel to the dennys. After the day long trip we finally made it to the Dennys we desired. When we got in the facility there were a line of 5 people! This is SUPER irritating because we had just walked 0.8 MILES! This is the LONGEST hike I've ever done in one day. This is super impressive considering I usually have Galaxie carry my hefty body to wherever I need to go. Galaxie is extremely BUFF and goes to the gym 3 times a year! After sitting in line for 6 MINUTES I finally ordered 5 burgers, 2 pancakes and extra mayo, I had a burning desire to actually pay for this meal, but because I'm homeless I could not afford the meal. But the almost INHUMAN employee said he could ONLY give us 8% off! After DEMANDING to have a nice long chat with his manager he informed me that he WAS the manager! So I went over to a dense looking couple and SPAT at them to fork over money so he had enough money to pay for the food. And to my pleasure they gave us $68 which was all the cash they had on them. (I have to give credit to Galaxie for intimidating the couple) Luckily our meal only came to $67.69 after tax and the discount. We shoved the grub down our throats so fast that some punks were throwing us DISGUSTED looks. So I went over them and started ranting at them to RESPECT me and Galaxie! 2 minutes later I saw them running FULL sprint out the door. Dennys is such a great place to visit! Please give it a go. read more

Brought coffee bout 5-10 mins later, but no water... Coffee tasted like crap...was either old, way over cooked or double strong...even with cream & sugar it still tasted burnt or old... Then food came...it looked ok, just not as I expected for the omelette topping as what was in picture... Then jelly tray wasn't full of selections, but waitress was not visible, so just dealt w/grape... She showed up to drop off ticket & got another round of coffee & reminded her of the water... Then check receipt & got charged an extra $0.89 for requesting pepper jack cheese instead of American...ridiculous, didn't add to the item, just replaced...
