Denny's has really good food. But they never seem to have enough help. The other day the waitress wanted to seat some people, and just about every table and booth on the side of the restaurant where we were seated had dirty dishes etc. still on them. The waitresses are run ragged. They are still very friendly and pleasant. Sometimes it takes a while to get your food, though! One time my Dad, who had dementia, went and ate there and forgot his wallet. I went back to pay, and they told me not to worry about it. Then the manager even called my Dad and told him he was welcome to eat there any time. We have been here for over an hour and have yet to receive our drinks, and we still have to order our food. We came here for my brother in laws birthday dinner and the waitress didn't even bother to set up the menus on the table. We don't even have silverware set on our table. I understand restaurants get busy but this is beyond ridiculous. Knowing that Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest they should have more staff working. We are forgiving every time we come here because it always seems to take a long time, but today they made us wait more than we have ever have. OK, this is the worst Denny's ever!!! Since Denny's is a chain and my roommate likes it I've gone 3 times, and EVERY time I regretted it. It should never take so long for breakfast, and there was no excuse. Worst service all 3 times. No refills, no all you can eat pancakes, just the one plate because I couldn't flag down the waitress. I literally got up out of the booth to ask for water refills here. Consistently takes 1-2 hours for breakfast here, don't get duped, go somewhere else. There is an iron skillet across the street, or a fabulous buffet at rolling hills casino. What I find so frustrating is that my wife and my roommate will still go here!!??!! This is a nice-looking Denny's. It has no "sketchy" feel, as some do. It is attached to a Love's Travel Center, which is convenient, as there is plenty of parking for RVs, and lots of useful services, including gas. It has nice bathrooms, and it looks clean and spacious inside. In addition, it has a nice lawn out front with many young trees. While most people might not note the lawn with trees, we did, because we travel with our dog. This lawn allowed us to safely leave our dog outside, in the shade of a tree, and he was easily seen from the windows of the restaurant as we ate. That was a huge plus for us. The waitress was friendly and prompt. She was more than willing to supply substitutes to the menu for some of my family's quirky eating habits. The food arrived quickly, was hot, and tasted good. After coming here to get some dinner i was terribly dissapointed in the service i received, wait i didnt receive any kind of greetings by any associate. I waited over 20 minutes and nobody aproached me and offered a menu or to take my order. I wish I could give this Denny's 0 stars. Absolutely the WORST service I have ever had in my entire life. We arrived at 6pm to a busy kitchen. We expected a bit of a wait... Wow we're we in for a surprise. We were seated in a booth. Not one person spoke to us for 35 minutes - then she finally came over and took our order. (No apology for the long wait). Once she took our order I started a timer on my phone... we didn't get our drinks until 17 minutes later. (All we ordered was water and smoothies for our children.) By the time our children's food came out the timer was at 1 hour and 2 minutes. I glanced into the kitchen and I saw my plate sitting there and thought she would be right back with it. I heard her in the kitchen asking for my husbands plate. Finally she brought our food out at 1 hour and 16 minutes. My husbands was piping hot - mine was cold and stale. I grabbed a piece of my toast and it broke into 3 pieces. My husband gasped.. after all it had been sitting there for at least 15 minutes.. my husbands burger was dry and had no flavor... wow. Just all around the absolute WORST experience I have ever had at a Denny's. The "manager" I spoke to was extremely rude and didn't seem to care. She said "yea well. We told everyone it was a long ass wait". Not very professional to curse when speaking to disgruntled customers... Eventually she took 20% off of my bill. I'd like to start by saying I've been a long time Customer at my local Dennys here in corning.. I've always had a appreciation for the hometown feeling I got from it.. some of the waitresses I have encountered have been some of the best I've ever dealt with.. having said that I want to acknowledge the ones that u hold accept for making my dining experience mote then exceptional.. Becka has always been the most kindest and caring waitresses.. I try and look for her when I come in.. I know that she has my best interests at hand.. she makes me feel comfortable and she doesn't hoover or ignore my table.. she always has a smile on her face.. another one is Vala on the dinner shift.. same thing very personable and cares about the customer.. there is a couple others but I think those two deserve to be recognized.. The reason I'm writing this after all the years is something changed.. it's definitely noticeable to the customer.. I see the girls rushing around the lines out the door and unhappy customers every time I'm there.. There is such a different feeling in that place.. what once seemed like home has become a very cold rushed experience.. I always felt cared about there and I knew my experience there. Was important to the staff now I feel as if everything is way off balance.. I feel bed for these girls .. They look stressed .. it's not always about the company it's also about the people who work on it and I have a feeling that my Dennys here in corning has lost sire of that.. First, when we arrived, the counter was filthy and sticky. When we asked for a wash cloth to clean it up, the hostess came over with a wet paper towel and a dry paper towel and handed them to us instead of cleaning it. Not to mention there were still plates from previous customers on the counter before our arrival. Also, there were still dirty dishes sitting on tables from customers that left . They still sat there until we spoke to the manager. Our waitress walked over, gave us silverware and then walked away, didn't introduce herself, say she be back in a minute or anything. As I walk in the entry way to the restaurant, I can see it's not busy. We wait 10 minutes to be even acknowledged. They take us back to the very back and seat us at a table that has a million flies banging at the windows y'all. They are on the inside!!!! I politely move to another table away from the windows. The waitstaff are super friendly and attentive- two details that I rate right off the bat. Must be pretty new place though as it looked and felt like it probably just opened not long ago. Food was hot and delicious- the hot part being another point in my book for breakfasts. The waitstaff tend to let most breakfasts sit under the heat lamps too long before taking it out to your table, but not here! All in all, a great experience. My boyfriend and I stopped in on New Year's day, on our way back home from a weekend in Napa. First of all the hostess was on the phone when we walked in, with what sounded like an employee calling in sick...no biggie these things happen...but from that moment on, we definitley felt the absence of this missing employee. We were seated, given our menus, and after deciding on what to eat....we waited, and waited......and waited probably 20 minutes for the waitress to come to our table.
