UPDATE to the original post it's now been 7 months since this car was in the shop. I got it back from them for a day and had to return it because it was shaking so bad they told me its engine vibration and now they have to take it back it part and should have it back in a few weeks. I had to buy another vehicle from someone else because this one has been in the shop with them longer than I've actually been able to drive it. Like I said before I understand being short staffed but this is insane. They offered no solutions. They told be they had no loaner cars and if they did it would be 30 days max but like I said it's going on 7 months. I've lost 3 traveling jobs due to not having my car I've been struggling to keep up with bills because of this. They were aware I told them as much and they still didn't care. Just be extra cautious when going through these guys. Absolutely DO NOT buy from them!! I bought a used car from them and within a few months of owning it the flex plate broke I had it towed to the shop in May with promises of them getting it fixed to me my June at the latest m. It is now the end of August and it is still not finished and they keep coming up with excuse after excuse. "We are short handed and there's a few more cars in front of you." "I'm sorry we got it on the lift now we're just waiting on parts" "your parts are on back order" " Sorry we just had a tech put in some guys motor in wrong so they have to tear it apart and start over. They should be starting on your car Wednesday and it should be done no later than Friday" Which was last week. I've called twice this week with a promise of someone getting back to me and nothing. I called them at 2pm today and 3:30pm and it just went straight to voicemail." So if I were you I'd definitely use CAUTION with this dealership. I completely understand that things happen it this is going on 4 months of being in the shop and I'm paying $600 a month on a car that I can't use and I have no back up car. I'm sorry but this is absolutely RIDICULOUS and UNACCEPTABLE! I will never ever buy another vehicle from them again! read more

we requested recalls to be repaired for almost 2 years they would never follow through. Finally tried to get them to do 4 recalls Aug 2025. Scheduled a month in advance. Had my truck for month and only complete a couple of the recalls would never do the transmission recall that is most important. I had to finally force them to get it back to me. A sorry thing to have to deal with these people. read more

The Service Department was courteous and helpful to a point. November 2022 we were stranded with a dead diesel 2008 Ford F250, in-bed camper, wife, cat and 150 miles from home. They tried to work us in and return us to our trip, even replacing a start inhibit breaker with the original relay and re-programming the RFID ignition keys "just-in-case". After a couple nights in a local motel, re-doing one of the ignition keys, and paying 4 hours of diagnostic, we were back on the road. An hour later, we were stranded again with the dead Ford truck. We had the truck and utility trailer re-towed to the dealership. Another 4 hours of diagnostics paid for and we were informed that the PCM was dead and 2008 parts were on back-order with no shipping date. I eventually ordered a "repaired" PCM from Florida. They said it tested bad also. While stored at the Dealership lot, I had my portable generator stolen. 6 months later: Finally I had the truck picked up and delivered to my home. 1 year later: I had a family Senior diesel Technician troubleshoot the truck and had it running in 15 minutes with the original PCM. 3 hours later the root-cause was repaired, a new relay installed, and the truck is ready to sell. I have a repaired PCM to sell and a new RAM 2500 to drive. I feel "lied to and taken advantage of". If the technicians are not up to standards, just say so. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

Horrible! Made appt to have a recall fixed. I was told it would be about an hour. After an hour and a half Josh came in and said sorry it would be a 4 to 5 hour fix. They hadn't even touched it yet. Said they couldn't find me a rental. I left and called Helena to see if they could fix it. No because the parts Butte had were for my truck. So I called and spoke with the service manager. He wouldn't send the part to Helena like I asked. Bit the bullet and made another appt. Brought it in 9 am on Thursday. When I called Friday morning to see if it was done I was told they hadn't even touched it yet! WHAT? Why did the service manager make the appt for Thursday it they would be able not get to it? When I did finally get it back I had to reinstall the weather stripping on the passenger side because it wasn't put back right. I need to have other things done but will not be going back there!! read more

My son bought a Ford truck in December from this business. He had an issue with the track bar and ball joint. At first they couldn't get him in for 5 weeks. Spoke to the manager Nate and he was great- he was able to get him in sooner. Carlie at the service desk was amazing. He had an appointment at a place other than Ford due to the urgency of the issue but when was he called to schedule the appt she provided us with very valuable information regarding his warranty that saved his $4,000 warranty from being voided has he gone some place else and not only that she got him in that day and the dealership even went to pick up his truck and had it done by the time he was off work. Super happy with the whole process!! read more

Went in for emergency service recently after the truck started bucking going up steep grades pulling an unwinterized trailer through Butte heading for the Oregon coast, racing 3 degree weather coming in a couple days. So with no appointment, just my sad story, I showed up on a Monday morning, and was greeted by Chet, who asked"Can I help you?" Well, all I can say is "Yes you did and thank you!" 3 hours later I was driving away to pick up my trailer and get back on I90 west. Made it to Spokane, got caught in a light snow which was fine, and made it to Oregon without killing our rolling home. Forever grateful to Chet and nice folks at this dealership. If you want to take your vehicle somewhere where they won't work on it properly, take it in to the shop where it sits for weeks on end while they do nothing, drive your vehicle around town and put a few hundred miles on your truck, then Denny menholt ford is the place to go. Some of the most shoddy workmanship is done here and instead of owning up to it they will blame the customer and say it is their fault the truck isn't working. If you plan on spending $70k+ on a vehicle please for the love of god do not go here. #FordNorthAmerica almost from day 1 you sold us a truck that has been a royal pain in the butt. This truck is a 2015 F-350 superduty that had 12 miles on it when we bought it. It now only has 70,000 miles and since 5,000 miles we have had issues with this truck. I think close to $40,000 has been put into this truck and it is in the shop at least every three months and lately it has been in the shop for three weeks at a time, then comes home for a week and goes right back into the show again for two plus weeks. There isn't a Ford dealership mechanic within 100 miles from us that actually knows what they are doing and are complete idiots. There are multiple times when the truck has a big red arrow pointing at the problem and they still don't have the mental fortitude to be able to find out what is wrong with the truck. Every time the truck goes to the shop it is for at least 3+ problems going on with the truck. Here are a few problems that have been fixed. The number in () is how many times I had to bring the truck in for that problem to fix it: seat belt, EGR reservoir replaced (4), seat track (6), broke 2 parts to fix seat track and lied about it and used superglue to fix broken part, transmission, diesel particulate filter (12) and still can't fix it properly, turbo, 4wd hubs (3), 4wd motor (3), transfer case control module, transmission wire assembly, windshield washer motor replaced, front wheel bearings, tie rod ends, drag link, all 8 injectors (7), DEF heater, DEF wiring harness, oil separator assembly, DEF pump, DEF injection tube, four different engine oil leaks, transfer case leak, valve cover leak, Ford striped oil pan and oil pan plug, Helena ford drove the truck 500 miles when they replaced injectors, Helena ford wrecked driver side and passenger doors (been fighting them over it since Jan 2019), vacuum pump, Helena ford broke air intake, all EGT sensors replaced, #dennymenholtford put wrong oil in truck, fuel economy at 10-11mpg regardless of towing, #dennymenholt fudged economy numbers saying it got 19.6mpg, three backup sensors, front radiator seal, crankcase breather tube, replaced expansion coolant tank, turbo inlet pipe. This is all I can recall right now of what has been replaced. Recently I had the truck in the shop in #butte for two weeks and had it home for a week and it is back in again because the engine coolant is loosing coolant but has no external leaks, the transmission dipstick fell into the transmission (yes I said that correctly), transmission fluid is burnt, valve covers leaking again, turbo boots blown, transfer case leak, DPF overlimit because it won't regenerate, 4wd not working properly. #helenamotors #dennymenholt #dennymenholtford #ford #fordnorthamerica has failed this customer and this truck. Nobody should buy a $80,000 truck and have these issues or this type of customer service. How unfortunate we had to interact with Denny Menholt Ford, The one bright spot was a nice person I spoke to originally. True to her word, she had the service person, Kim, call me back. When Kim called, I told her our Ford truck, which was pulling a 5th wheel trailer as we passed through Butte, had DIED and we were stuck. I asked if there was any way we could have it towed there, if only for someone to run a computer diagnostic, knowing schedules are very tight in repair shops. Her response was to tell me that no one would be able to look at for "4-6 weeks.". She then added insult to injury by saying that Shelby, the diesel mechanic would have to call me back to even discuss the problem; Rather nonplussed, I provided my phone number. It probably won't be a surprise for readers of this review to learn that Shelby never did call me back. Fortunately a very kind and helpful service person at Headframe Auto Repair said they were extremely busy, but to go ahead and tow it in and they'd try to squeeze us in. Within two hours of them intermittently trouble-shooting our problem in between their scheduled repairs, the very minor problem was diagnosed and fixed. And then the owner actually drove our truck to us! Wow!! Denny Menholt Ford could take a lesson from this small, family-owned shop that went above and beyond. We are from out of state, but hopefully this review reaches some Butte residents and they think twice before giving Denny Menholt Ford their business. read more

Went to Denny Menholt Ford for first time today. Used to go to Bozeman Ford, but was not happy with them. Denny Menholt was fast, efficient, and price was much less than they had told me it would be. Chet, the service guy that took card of me was great. I will be using this Ford Service department from now on. Totally honest, competent people. I believe it reflects well on working class Butte vs Bozangeles. Could not have been happier! read more

We were having engine trouble in Yellowstone Park, but made it to West Yellowstone and called Denny Menholt Ford from there to let them know our destination was Butte and that we were going to be there in the afternoon, either limping along on our own or being towed. When we made it at 2:30 (on a Friday) the folks in the service department had the part we needed and got us in. We were on our way in about an hour and a half. I would give 0 stars if that was an option. I made an appointment 1 month ago for 2 Ford factory recalls. Went into the appointment today and was called 3 hours later by the service person telling me that they are "out of the recalled parts". They do not give a courtesy car even though they kept the car all day for a factory recall...not something I needed done. Now I have to arrange another visit for whenever they get the recalled parts in which they say they will call when it comes in..I won't hold my breath for that call. And to top it off they don't even wash the cars after service anymore. I will never buy another car from this dealership ever again! read more

If I could give a 0 I would. We made a appointment for a Tuesday morning and dropped our Ford pickup off the day before. We were having trouble with the steering and decided a Ford dealership, where it was purchased, was a good place to have it repaired. On Thursday afternoon after not hearing from them we called and they were going to look at it soon. We went to pick it up on Friday and they could not find anything wrong but charged us $117.30 for whatever they did. Telling us that they had worked on it for more than an hour. I asked it they could tell that it wasn't driving well when they test drove it and they said they couldn't when they drove it in their parking lot. We had another mechanic fix it with a new steering box. Poor service and didn't feel that they were interested in fixing our pickup. The service guy said it drove like a typical Ford?!!! Also they had grease and grime all over the steering wheel. Horrible experience and will spread the word how they do business. read more

Brought my van in because it was running rough, thought it was likely a bad plug from the way it was running. After an 8 day wait (and a vehicle rental which cost $300+), I was told that I had low compression in two cylinders, oil on one sparkplug where it must be leaking up the cylinder (note: it has never used more than 1/2 qt. of oil in a thousand miles). I needed a new V-10 engine, which they would gladly supply for about $8,000.00. Ok, change that oily plug (another $300.00) and I'll limp it home 30 miles and decide whether I want to spend that much on a high-mileage van. Van runs perfect on the way home with the new plug, so I keep on driving it. In fact, I drove it back to California fully loaded with about a ton of roofing material. Ran perfect all the way. Draw your own conclusions. It'll be a cold day in hell before I pay $600 again to get a sparkplug replaced. read more
