 box full of craws

My favorite place to pick up boiled crawfish! So grateful I live close by! Salty and spicy every time!

 bag of craws and potatoes
Kristen G.

I ordered for the first time today and I won't be back. I had heard good things about Dennis' Seafood. So I picked up a few pounds of boiled crawfish, potatoes, corn and sausage. They do not cook their potatoes, corn or sausage in the same boil - so not much flavor there. The corn was boiled in just water but it was good. I could've done without the bland potatoes. The crawfish we're awful. Most of them were dead (before they cooked them) and I found myself spitting them out. They don't use much seasoning, most of them tasted bland. It's the second time I've had them this season and I couldn't even finish them because they were so terrible. I wouldn't recommend getting them from here!

Open on Sunday, woo hoo

Dennis' is a family run seafood market that has been in business since 1975. These neighborhood seafood markets are very special, and I hope the locals appreciate them. The stores are unique to coastal towns, but in New Orleans, they are at another level. Dennis' offer the fresh seafood you would expect, plus many authentic Louisiana specialties. Seafood gumbo, corn crab soup, crawfish pies, and stuffed artichokes are just a few examples. I especially like the way Dennis' prepares the boiled crawfish. They have the best seasoning; salty and flavored with just the right amount of spices. Dennis' is open on Sundays during crawfish season (January thru May), and they will package the goods to-go if you are traveling. I also tried their homemade tamales, and I thought they were excellent. The meat is a dense mixture that had good flavor and texture. It is wrapped in a thin layer of cornmeal. The sauce is tasty and has a little spiciness. I recommend giving the tamales a try.

Consistently one of the best spots for boiled crawfish. I go out of my way for their seafood-the seasoning is salty but good.

The food here is pretty good, but don't try to split your bill cause it is a 20% charge and then 3% credit card charge so beware.

Best flavored crawfish around! Tamales are the closest I've found to Manuels. Absolutely love everything they offer.

First mistake, improperly bagged, shrimp juice was on my floor board and coming through the bag, and also got on other groceries in my truck. Second mistake, the shrimp were turning amber already and not a white flesh with blue tint and a fresh sweet smell, the shrimp shells were soft, (2 day cell break down) and very smelly. Another insider, once rinsed thoroughly, they began to become slimy, so really he purposely is water logging them, because there going bad, I call them about the shrimp, the lady feels personally attacked, after simply explaining the quality of the shrimp, and that I didn't want my money back, her tone and attitude shifting and I went to stop her and ask her why she's sounding upset, she escalates it, then ends up hanging up on me. I show up, nicely ask for a manager, she immediately expresses negative energy and defends herself hanging up, I say nothing and she gets the man in charge. Long story short I went to explain and show him the shrimp, you can see clear as day, BROWN DIRTY SHRIMP WATER WITH BARELY ANY ICE, to add also the sizes were not all large at all, and contained excess shells I didn't ask to pay for. The guy there in charge proceeds to dismiss me entirely very rude, and even gets hostile stepping into my space inches from me. This is what I get for coming to buy shrimp, havnt been here in a year to buy fresh seafood, and I get zero customer service and a very hostile gm or co owner. What ever he is. What's funny is he has the calls recorded and video, but also threatened to call the cops on me responding to his remarks as I'm getting my money back, but there the victim?? SERIOUSLY PSYCHO PEOPLE.. really am Shocked. Over 15 years in FINE DINING, in New Orleans, never in my life have I been attacked over quality of product. I acted professional and expected the same. If I was such a problem why did the sweet lady trying to give me my refund, HAD TO TELL THE GUY AND THE RUDE MANAGER, to go in the back??? lol literally stuff you can't believe you usually just see on tv. Don't believe me?? Watch 24 hours to hell and back, people really act like this. If I was lying, why did I get a refund? Why did he give me a refund when I never asked for one? If the shrimp were fresh, why didn't he inspect them right off the bat?? Because he dealing with someone who knows everything about seafood and he's cutting corners and being lazy with his product, and his pride and obvious short falls made him explode, a 47 year old man. I'm in my 30s

I was ready to cook Louisiana-style But the only places in San Diego where I could buy live crawfish and blue crabs in bulk were local Asian markets, which I tried, but I found that they generally carry tiny, hard-shelled crawfish and what in other places are referred to as "soup" crabs, ones so small that they add good flavor to stocks, but don't provide much of a meal. Then I called Louisiana's Best Seafood. This distributor, like many in the New Orleans area, has relationships with local shrimpers, crabbers and crawfish suppliers. What distinguishes Louisiana's Best Seafood is their willingness to work with long-distance customers on selection (not all shellfish are created equal, in size or "fullness"), price and the logistics of delivering dozens of pounds of perishable seafood. My "guy" at Louisiana's Best Seafood is Val Sevin, an old-school New Orleans gentleman and raconteur who will advise you, arrange a fair price with you, and ensure your seafood reaches you in the best possible condition. Need a sack of crawfish, some big, sweet shrimp or a few dozen live blue crabs? Let Louisiana's Best Seafood send you the best the Gulf Coast has to offer, overnight, for pickup at the Southwest Cargo Terminal at Lindbergh Field. There's just one thing they can't help with: you'll need a really big pot.

I ordered 2 dozen soft shell crabs from Louisiana's Best Seafood and as an afterthought added a…read moregallon of oysters. The crabs are very nice and fresh however the volume of the oysters was not acceptable, about 1/3 full at best. I texted them and spoke to John. John said to text a picture and he would discuss it with his manager. I did that and emailed John but the email address on the website doesn't work. I then emailed using the address on FaceBook and got no response. I posted on their FB page but they removed my post. The oysters are supplied to them by Genevieve's and the volume does not compare with the volume that I received from Terry's in Sulphur Springs.
